I’m thinking about moving apartment to the very centre of Moscow. I’ll show which website I use to search and show you some of the options I am considering. I will also discuss the prices and compare them to back home.
Which apartment did you think was best? Or did you not like any of them?
Second one.
I like the one with the white walks and the wooden floor.
@@scottishguyinmoscow second one
I didn't like any of them.
I think you should stay put you’re not that far away from the centre
Jim i prefer the apartment that you live in now.
I Hit $32,590 todayThank you for all the
Knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last week. i started with 5k in last
week 2025... now i just hit $32,590
Same here
Waking up every 14th of each month to 57,000 dollars it's a blessing to I and my family...I can now retire knowing that I have a steady income ❤️
Big gratitude to Evelyn Vera
OMG 😱😱😱😱😱😱
How did you manage to achieve that level of growth? I've been trying everything I can to improve my investments,I want to retire in a few years and I need a better diversification
After I raised up to 325k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states🇺🇸🇺🇸 ….Glory to God, shalom.
Timing is crucial, and as Ms Evelyn Vera suggests,it's often wise to make purchases during market downtowns, prioritize acquiring solid assets, and explore options that allow you to generate massive income while you invest
I wouldn't trade your current place for any of those you showed despite more central location.
Living in a Stalinka in Shabalovksaya for 60k is a very good deal these days. I'd only want to live as far from the centre as that, or somewhere within the Third Ring, and for a 35/m2+ 'design' renovation, something comfortable and European... you're looking at 120k+ a month.
You'd only want to live *so* close to the centre before you're living around government buildings and touristy stuff, not a real neighbourhood as it were.
Stress on the first syllable- ShAbolvskaya. There are good places in Moscow, for example, I really like Tushino, we lived there in a great quiet green area with old architecture. Svobody Street, Tushinskaya Street. It's not a Red Square, but it's quick and convenient to get there.
Traditional Russian patterns haha)). To be honest, I think that your current location is ideal; Shabolovskaya is very close to the historic center, but that's also a historic part of the city, actually because of an= constructivism architecture. By the way, yesterday I've seen your comment at Moscowwalks' live stream about Shabolovskaya. Have a great week xxx
Like your videos. Living between Shabolovskaya and Tulskay. Very nice place to live, less crowded that center, and its quite possible to find even two level apartments in these are.
Interesting. Thanks.
Hi Jim. I have an idea for your video about renting a house. You can take 3 categories. Cheap housing up to 50,000 rubles, average from 50,000 to 100,000 and expensive. From 100,000 and up. I think if you make such a video showing some housing options, many will be interested in this format. You will see everything yourself not in photographs, but in reality, go and film everything in real conditions as it is. And show it to all your viewers.
you live in 'stalinka' higher cellings, better materials, insulation, sound proof. I can't watch full video now but stay at this place if your landlord is not changing the price. new building in budget segment is shite.
Новые квартиры такие же
Просто люди не хотят тратить много на ремонт вот и получаются звуковые камеры.
@ не. В дешевых новых потолки ниже в полтора раза и стенки из гипсокартона.
Don't go anywhere, you live in a luxurious Stalinist apartment. This can be said to be a premium class. The only inconvenience is that there is no garbage chute, in winter the garbage must be taken outside and there is no elevator if the house is not higher than 5 floors. In St. Petersburg, there are also gas water heaters in Stalinist houses. At that time, there was no centralized hot water yet. It's probably better in Moscow.
Stalinist - это тот, кто за Сталина. Апартмент - не человек.
@@marias5088 А как правильно то? Stalin's apartment? Я понятия не имею как это правильно на английском будет. Но дипл выдает, что Stalinist apartment тоже правильно.
How is that even good? That luxurious Stalinist apartment would be considered poverty in Scotland. I like Russia, but they really need to improve their housing stock. It is not developed.
@ How many degrees are there in the apartments of "rich Scots" in winter? Poor Russians have +23-25 and no one goes broke, heating fees! An apartment of 70-90 m2 with a separate bathroom, where you can't reach the door with your hand while sitting on the toilet? And where it is possible to install a bathtub more than 2 m in length! In most Russian apartments, a separate bathroom, toilet and bathtub are separated, and it is the combined bathroom that is considered poverty and garbage in our country! A shower stall instead of a bathtub is also poverty! Are you from Ukraine by any chance?
@@RRaymer it is not a high-end apartment by any means. You've been misled. There are lux apartments in Moscow that cost 2000k and above per month.
I pay 180,000 rubles for a 1 bedroom apartment in Arbat and I had to negotiate because it costs 200,000. With that budget you'll only find old apartments
May I ask what your job/work is?
I suppose your current location is the nearest place to Centre. You can go by walk just 25-30 min to red square
Moscow central property is expensive in general, so I'm not surprised you're looking for an affordable apartment outside of the center 😅
I love your apartment...why move! Personally, I prefer an older building with a few Soviet-era touches.
You have it made where you're at! Dont move unless you can find something better.
For you "if" staying single (something that appears a bit hard to keep up with 🙂
The last one - location is primo !!
I know the area
I would not move to a smaller apartment just because it is in the city center unless you want to be within walking distance from your work.
For the first apartment, at the end of advertising text, it says that will consider only a woman as a renter. So not everyone including you could fit in that condition i guess:) The 3rd one is actually next to Patriarshiy pond (Patriki).
Может быть, поищем ещё что-то? Почему, например, Вы не показали нам варианты квартир на Смоленской?
Nice flavour - but given the inflation in Moscow I would increase the budget a little to 115 ru and you will get a whole lot more flat in Old Arbat with a pre-revolution apartment 100% done up. Our former home was there just across from the Canadian embassy - we rented but the owner declined to sell it to us. We had 3 rooms, truly stunning and paid 80 ru 8-years ago. Old Arbat (not Novy Arbat) would be a great location for such a distinguished Scotsman such as yourself. BTW - the Moscow Burns Night Supper was usually held at the Lotte Plaza but not sure now.
The problem with all those babushka's interiors is that you set low price for the center of Moscow.
Double the price in the settings and you'll see quite different results with modern interiors.
The center of Moscow is very expensive area actually 😏
So you get babushka's interior or you have to pay higher price. Much higher 🤷🏼♂️
You're telling us you don't like the faux red alligator leather wallpaper?!
I like your current place better than those three
But I do get the idea of being in the city center
Third one is just one room + bathroom. Middle one worth a look… v nice building, area and love balcony. Could make living area off kitchen and big room bedroom only. Go and have a look - photos can be deceptive. First appt is more home like. You could ask them to remove clutter. Again maybe worth a look just to see in daylight. Are all the photos current? Make a video on these three… will be fun.
I love the Russian wallpaper, so I would choose the first one.
Stay where you are and take a cab when you want to go to or from the center of Moscow.
Try Leninskie Gory or Cheryomushki, Jim, not that far from the centre, it used ti be quite a nice area in the 60s but may be more built up now.
Prices have risen significantly over the last year. But even so, the locations you're looking at have always cost a lot.
Welcome.... Russia...... and..... Moscow Supersonic International Love everyday beautiful..... 💜💜💜💚💚💚🧡🧡🧡💗💗💗❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩💘💘💘💘
Your apartment looks great and any woman that doesn't , tell her to pay for your rent for you to be closer to the city centre.
I would only get a steamer to steam the wall paper off and then paint it and you're done .
None of them is nice as your current apartment! The Arbat one was the nicest if you can live with the bathroom tiles and the bed but it’s quite small. Disappointed not to see any carpets hanging on the Гостиная wall.😂
That's very nice apartment
Hey, Jim! I didn’t really like any of the flats that you looked at. They’re pretty small. Some of the decorations would just give me a headache, like red walls or this terrible pattern in a bathroom. I mean, why?
If you’re thinking of moving to a nicer area and find a flat within your budget, I would suggest you look at Smolenskaya or Frunzenskaya, may be Taganskaya. Something at or around the Garden Ring. Or maybe a nicer and more morden flat in your area (a bit closer to the Garden Ring).
If you’re still keen on moving to the areas that you have initially pointed out, you would probably need to increase your budget. Otherwise, you will likely be stuck with tiny and/or ugly flats ☹️
Yeah, and I actually like your current flat. You’ve got a really good deal on it. If you were to rent it today, you would most definitely have to pay more than you’re currently paying. And the area is really nice. So I would think twice about moving out of there unless there is some urgent reason you need to find another place.
A 25 sq m apartment if this includes the kitchen, bathroom, etc. might be a bit too small if you plan to live there for a long time. I would look for at least a 30 sq m place.
Is there any other websites that you could check if you would like to buy an apartment in Moscow
@JonathanOkane same website for buying
I'm russian and I hate wallpaper. Looks like my grandma's flat. 😂
The one with the great balcony view!
Not super keen on any of em but that balcony is great.
Given the other choices.
It looks as though you have to be over 18 to look at the decor. Personally I would choose none. The key to living in a big city is to get as close to a metro station as possible. That will cut down your walking time and get you to the centre quicker. So go for a better apartment nearest a metro line.
The one you liked the best, location,location,location...however the kitchen had no cupboards or refrigerator unless that was one picture we didnt see, lke going hunting for a new apartment...good interesting video!
I advise you to pay literally 10,000-15,000 rubles and find a more suitable option, believe me it's worth it. All the current options are too terrible
Those apartments are pretty expansive
Great as always!!🎊
No not worth it .Stay were you are ,your in between transport ,that's good enough and have good legs. Unless they give you a massive pay increase the extra roubles in cost are not worth the effort. Go and party spend your money on your lifestyle.
The last one is the best. Cleanest organized no red paint😊But keep looking I can tell you’re not sold.
You've probably said but what job do you do ?
He is a primary school teacher
In Vancouver Canada those apartments are $2500.00 if you are lucky to find any?
Is Vancouver still Canada or is already USA?
@@Сигизмунд-с2й Both of those two are failed states?

Definitely do not recommend to move in center-center like Kitay-Gorod or Chistie Prudy unless you're a fan of nightlife and tolerant to different kind of noises during the night, or you feel fine to sleep with closed windows. The density of buildings and people is very high, and you will, most likely, experience some inconveniences because of that. But again, it may be a good decision if you don't mind living in more crowded areas
Stay where you are
Being that my ancestors are from Scotland, I looked for Houses for you around Moscow there are some really pretty ones that sold for about 50 to 70K USD's Sorry but that last apt was to little lol You need something bigger
You dont like clutter jim.should come and live in my place.i, ve even hacked up the floor boards to bung in my fire since no heating allowance this year. Why you thinking of moving.the flat youve gots a steal. But
Mate, you should buy an apartment in St.Pete's Shotladnskaya ulitsa which is Scotland street.
He is renting, looking for another rental in the area he chooses which is more central, but will be smaller for similar price, Jim is aware of that.
That's crazy how bad looking and expensive this old(very) apartments are. Center of Moscow is the place i wouldn't ever rent a flat. Hello from Saint-Petersburg
I don't like any
Jim. It’s a pity that Russian landlords don’t allow tenants to redecorate. Although some of the decor is dated, I do like the floral wallpaper but only in the bedroom or small bathroom. It’s come back into fashion in the UK! Rents seem dirt cheap, considering it’s a capital city. Some Eastern European apartments have beautiful, large antique boilers in the living room. I don’t know if you have seen any yet in Russia. They’re amazing. Really stunning.
Nah, I didn't like any of them 🙂
Why don't you just buy a house 🏠?
I'm sorry, but there is no way in the world I would pay $700 to $900 to live in a 100 year old building!
HELL NO! I don't care what city it's in!! I wouldn't even pay that much in a new/er building. $400 to $600 is a REASONABLE price for a 1 bedroom apartment.
900 usd for that 25m2? 🤣
Jim, I live on Bryanskaya very close to Kievskaya Metro. Europensky Mall is across the street. Great neighborhood. Not sure what the rents are. I will take a look. Definitely take a look. Good luck.
The first one was looking for a lady tenant.
Tiny (too Tiny!) apartments. Joke sizes IMO.
Mostly convoluted corners masquerading as Spaces
Their locations had better be Seriously Attractive to even give... Any of those a 2nd look let alone an actual visit.
Keep looking !
Tell us how much is rent in your nazi country?
I lived next to Patriarchs pond 2012-2014, really liked the area (and the apartment though expensive $5000/ month)
i just watch ads on your video, it means your videos get monetized ?
For relative pennies, he wants to rent a huge apartment in the city center... And he laughs mockingly. Fool.
Jim is no fool, he is aware.
Your attitude is vile.
