It's not a bad game but in comparison to the previous two games, it feels like a "step down" if that makes sense plus there is the negative association with "live service games".
i think it wouldve been more interesting to see the graphis as like Cult of the lamb instead of it being in 3d. i wouldve kept the charm of the animation imo
I haven't had a chance to buy it yet but Snowday really seemed like the most 'licensed' of the trilogy. The art style looks great in stills but really lackluster in motion, contrast to the previous games which looked good both in motion and when paused. Gameplay likewise looks fairly typical for tie-in video games from the late PS2 to PS3 era, some ambitious ideas and novel concepts but ultimately half-baked. Again, have not played yet, but I'm not impressed by anything I've so far seen.
I absolutely love South Park, but this was a very toned down version. One of the reasons South Park is great is that they refuse to pull punches. This feels like a T rated game with the F word sprinkled in to give it that M rating. It's also horribly disappointing following up 2 games that feel like long episodes that are incredibly detailed and funny. This game just feels like you hit the attack button over and over and then dodge. Theres no substance and no "south park feel"
I haven't played the game (and I don't have a desire to honestly even as a big south park fan) but from the clips and gameplay videos ive seen of it the humor just feels so sanitized and bland compared to the last two games. The most edgy jokes of the game is litterally just the farts and swearing. Not saying something has to be over the top edgy and offensive to make me laugh, but like, this is a SOUTH PARK game, and stick of truth and fractured but whole's jokes felt way more scandalous, like the nazi zombie aborted fetus boss fight in the stick of truth. Honestly if this game wasn't tied to the south park branding it would have been rated t for teen at most.

I'll only pickup the game when it goes on sale. Other than the price, yhe game doesnt look half bad and I've always enjoyed hack an slash games
