Cleared Sumeru with only 4 star starter team. A little tough at times, I agree, but it's mostly a skill issue for that person. As the video says, you just need patience. Since I didn't build Noelle and had no other shielder, Barbara carried me through it all, with Kaeya and Xianling doing all the damage.
Honestly people diss Barbara too much just because she applies hydro to your characters (kokomi does it too when you first do her skill and I got frozen in the new event lmao) my Barbara can do about 3-4k healing with 26k hp at level 76
My 100% exploration team until half of Sumeru was Noelle, Xinqiu, Kaeya and Yanfei. My Dragonspine team had Xinyan and Thoma in it. My Chasm exploration team was a Full Claymore that had Sayu, Razor, Noelle and Xinyan in it. Yes, all 4 stars, and I'm proud of this too.
I beat most of genshin with just Amber LOL, I've mained her since start (mained as in literally only leveled her for 80% of the game, later some healers) and the only challenging thing was the Crimson Witch of Flames for obvious reasons
Its one thing I like about genshin. Technically no part of the game REQUIRES you to ever pull of more characters. You can go through the entire thing with just free characters and the starting ones and you will be just fine
Yet some people really insist that this game is all about meta character and spyral abyss, dont get me wrong, i like learning game mechanic and try a different team but most of the time those people think that the only way to play this game is to pull and use a broken top tier character and team while calling other character garbage, useless, etc

Everything that is not abyss requires 0 skill to beat with the starters so it's not even fun, because you don't need to use elemental reactions or dodge or do anything except spam attacks and skills. The abyss is the same thing, except that it is not actually difficult, it's the timer that makes it "hard", but the timer is just a DPS check. So it is never about the players skill, which is kind of really important for a game. Even someone who has never played Genshin before could beat abyss in time with enough DPS and a whaled C6 Eula or similar, but a player who can perfectly time all their dodges, execute combos, knows all about reactions and can pull crazy shit like the dragonstrike and machinegun attacks will lose without enough DPS. This is this game's entire problem, skill doesn't matter as much as the numbers on the screen. You know a game is skill based when the final boss is beatable with lv1 characters with the first weapon. Look at terraria for example - some insane maniac beat the final boss (moonlord) by dealing 1 damage a million (or more) times and dodging litteraly every attack (sure it took hours but it WAS possible). Try doing abyss 12 with anything less than at least a year worth of farming characters and artifacts, good fucking luck (speaking from experience, my first lv 12 abyss clear was at AR54 as a f2p!) Tldr: players want a challenge with REAL difficulty, not artificial DPS checks and not an overworld so easy a toddler could beat it

@@_ghisa._ Try to get Barbara from the spiral abyss. She can do a lot of healing. And Kaeya's skill and burst can do dmg to Raiden. That's who I used the first time. Took me 20mins but I beat her. And also you get 3 lives. So you can be revived if you die 3 times. Also try to learn the patterns when she has shield up. Just avoid and do as much dmg as possible with Kaeya.
Here I am, I actually didn't know wish exists because I always keep on skipping all the tutorials. So I never wished. I just had to use Lisa, Kaeya, Amber and Aether (Geo) with a LOT of food and dodging. And I beat it. But then a stranger entered my world and taught me everything I had to know (including levelling talents, lineup.. events) and I had like 20k primos on the Zhongli banner. My first 5 star was Qiqi and then got Zhongli. Amber, Lisa, Aether are lvl 86 and Kaeya is 90 on my acc 😭
i didn't know about wishing either, so when i did i had sooo many primos hahah, got raiden shogun. but yeah i didn't stop maining the traveler, or learn about talents, or actually use artifacts correctly until like, ar47 or so. the game is perfectly playable either way, i wouldn't say easy, but it's definitely not difficult.
Uuuugggh... my diluc (first 5 star, actually got him on second newby pull together with bennnet), xiao and kaching are unacsended lvl 80 with unacsended lvl 80 weapon, just recently got to ar 50 @@. Others are lvl 70 mc, lvl 60 lisa and lvl 50 everything else (need those faiths for standard) But i actually started soft lvling them around raiden archon quest fight, but only started farming artefacts few days ago (got 4 star crimson witch set for diluc, now to farm sets for others)

@@LightYagami-DN i am actually using either qiqi or barbara in all my teams... (whatever keeps me from getting frozen, lolz) In most domains that have wery few or no hydro/cryo enemies i actually started using both (still cant do most highest lvl domains, my characters are like paper there)
We can do it with nearly everyone as long as we try. My team was all underbuilt c0 Beidou, Xiangling, Noelle, and Rosaria. I only managed to survive because of Beidou's parry. She did no damage, but she did block damage.
I've got Layla and her shield carried me through everything up to the end of Inazuma, and its secret zone. It's a bit slow but between shield and heals there hasn't been much that's too awful.
I have Traveller, Noelle, Kaeya and Xiangling as my team. I just entered Inazuma so by the time I reach to Raiden foght I'll remind myself to update here :)
Replace Traveler with Razor and that's the team I have. Haha. Although it would've most likely been Anemo traveler if it's supposed to be the starter team for me. Or Barbara. It really depends how well built the characters are on an individual scale. I'm currently thinking to give Noelle a physical built with HP and enough defense to make her a tank.
As someone who solo Raiden with Geo traveler out of spite, I can confirm it took me 30 minutes of dodging, consuming buffs and onigiri, and at the edge of my seat drinking Dr pepper and fighting for my life 😑🛡️
Why is it always the Geo people? I had C6 Noelle on high def and ER for mine. 34 minutes. My friend solo'ed his with Ning. Another friend did hers with Gorou + Yun Jin. 😅😅😅Again, WHY
I came from botw to genshin and noticed all those little things that makes genshin much easier, like you won't slip of cliffs if it rains, weapons don't break, etc.
Genshin is just BoTW lite. BoTW is just masterclass in game design. Genshin just rip out few of it's feature and implement simpler version of it. Also did you noticed that they scrap feature from BoTW and sell it as separate unit? Most notably early on is Venti updraft which is skill you get from clearing birdman. Admitedly as the game updates it become less and less like BoTW.
The problem people have is they don't build the supports or try to make everyone a DPS. Like instead of going for heals with Barbara their only healer, they decide to make her a DPS that isn't even worth the time.
Barbara is a bad ass dps healer. If you use the dps healer artifacts. With hp focus and one physical. With the catalyst that does additional physical damage. Lol me when I started 4different element dps no synergy with eachother till like ar 50 or somthing when I figured ohhh there’s a healer so on yeah going in blind knowing nothing. Tho I have to say now 1.5 years later on alt account at ar 10 I went though the golden slumber quest, ar 13 started the other desert quest got the jinni ar 15 went to the new area finished that too then was ar18 lol Things did take a wee bit to kill with noelle, amber kaeya and razor. I didn’t kill anyone either just lots of running dodging nd shields heals
Tbf though. If you made it to Inazuma, you ought to have enough fates and primogems ti pull for a 5 star character regardless of whether you did the events / side quests. But I agree. The starter team is pretty good so long as you build them well.
It's definitely time consuming, I had to clear the Enkanomiya quest where you had to defeat the abyss herald and 2 abyss mages, only one character was alive on my time, and I had to keep running to spend the time revival food take, and I wouldn't lose my progress, it took me sooo long bro 💀
My C6 Noelle who manages to knockback the Raiden boss every week. The thing is, time here (with patience) plays the part well too. Also, we should just challenge ourselves from time to time. It's fun. Especially for completionists like myself with no map left to explore. RIP
I have no idea what genshin was like when i first started. I remember fighting the electro hypostasis with only Anemo Lumine, took me 10-15 minutes but it was kinda fun ngl.
The fun part in Genshin is the early part where traveling are still challenging. When I played Genshin I immediately sequence break at AR10 to Dragonspine and literally had to burn tons of food and ressurection due to the horde of enemy and environmental hazard. Such difficulty actually made it feels rewarding. But nowadays traveling become just walking simulator with 0 threat.. food become useless, buff is uneeded, and you can kill enemy even with eyes closed.. it's just a chore
I'm not very good at the game, and I mostly just use Kaeya - Xiangling - Traveler (Dendro) - Barbara. I do have a few 4 stars from pulls that I switch in if I need to, but most of the time I just use those 4. Sometimes I struggle, some fights take long, but I've been able to clear everything necessary so far. Challenges with a timer or a monolith to protect are my doom, I usually fail those, but 99% of those are additional content you don't need to touch if you don't want to... And some of them you can complete in co-op with the help of someone stronger. So, they really aren't an issue. So far the game is perfectly doable with just the free characters, you just may not see incredibly big numbers.
what a genius that guy is! That fight doesn't even require you to beat her(first time as a cut scene will follow once a certain move has been used by raiden shogun). And the second time its sorta the same with some buffs for your character. The weekly boss doesn't have a time limit either. This is a pure *SKILL ISSUE*
Kaeya has the highest atk multipliers of any sword user. Give him a decent physical or cryo set and he can do some serious damage. Lisa is now also pretty good with the release of dendro since she scales on EM. Amber even has some fun builds that can do a shit ton of dmg.
Signora is challenging (not only that cold bar is annoying, but the room is small, leaving no space but to be hit by her attacks while healing (and cryo phase will make it a Sisyphus moment if your main healer is barbruh)
beating raiden shogun with the starter team is very possible, it was very hard for me since i didnt use a healer but used food instead, not only that but the 4 starter characters (traveller, amber, kaeya, lisa) for me were not built correctly but it can still be beatable nonetheless
Why do people forget F2P’s exist. I literally beat Raiden with my starter team because I didn’t have any 5 stars other than Keqing at that time, who’s useless in that fight due to electro resist. Also I didn’t have many 4 stars either because I was religiously saving for Zhongli back in 2.2 when I started playing this game. Because of leaks suggesting he was coming soon(2.4). I was also saving resources so my starting team characters(Traveller, Amber, Barbara and Kaeya) and Keqing were the only ones levelled up(only level wise not talent wise). I dark souled my way through the Raiden boss fights. It really wasn’t hard, but hella time consuming.

I remember fighting Raiden for the first time in the quest it was terrifying I had Barbara and Diluc on the team and when the skills got locked I almost died
Raiden Shogun, like most of Inazuma, is an obnoxious challenge but not impossible. What's really important is your weapons, talents and artefacts. You don't even need super broken artefacts, just good ones equipped to characters with high level talents.
The whole game is made to be beatable by starter characters. That's why Collei is a starter character too. Thats why the bow puzzles are dendro or pyro. That's even why the bosses have specific gameplay to be able to beat them with starters. Not sure if Noelle should be counted as one, but Geo Traveler does their job as well. The best example for that imo is Scaramouche Boss Fight, where the robot-bombs you have to destroy before he does his ultimate hit are vurnerable to specific elements - and the ones you should take down with ranged characters are weak to pyro...
i did this with starter characters because i began the game around inazuma time and i was fighting for my life the whole time. seeing that health bar slowly crawl down.... flashbacks
I had a pretty easy time going through the archon quests. Im new to the game and rerolled for a Tighnari, Layla and Xingque. Later added Xiangling and am now up to act 5 of Fontaine in a few weeks.
Going through the archon quests with just starter characters is doable. I did with Kaeya, Lisa, Xiangling and Noelle up till the end of Inazuma quests.
I used to play genshin before college. I made it my MISSION to solo riden shogun with dendro traveller. sure it took some time but I did it. this is the biggest flex of my life
I defeated her with only starter characters and my entire team was at level 40 with the exception of the traveler who was level 80. The traveler was the only one with artifacts because my little brother decided that he was gonna "prank" me and get rid of all but one artifact from every character I had built. And I also never farmed for materials for weapon ascension let alone talent ascension. I had dumb luck, but nobody died. I used (Anemo) Lumine, Kaeya, Amber, and Barbara. Was a very tough fight and I had no warning because I wasn't interacting with the fandom. I also didn't have any 5 star character other than the traveler and Aloy. I had no beginners luck.

One of the only reasons I have Yaoyao on my first team build is because she heals good, even when she's only lvl 20

Tbf though. If you made it to Inazuma, you ought to have enough fates and primogems ti pull for a 5 star character regardless of whether you did the events / side quests. But I agree. The starter team is pretty good so long as you build them well.
It's definitely time consuming, I had to clear the Enkanomiya quest where you had to defeat the abyss herald and 2 abyss mages, only one character was alive on my time, and I had to keep running to spend the time revival food take, and I wouldn't lose my progress, it took me sooo long bro 💀
It ends up boiling down to a matter of how much time i'm willing to be patient to do so and i have no will of attempting

My C6 Noelle who manages to knockback the Raiden boss every week. The thing is, time here (with patience) plays the part well too.
Also, we should just challenge ourselves from time to time. It's fun. Especially for completionists like myself with no map left to explore. RIP

Spiral has time but that's it and some events if I recall. The unlimited time truly makes it a slug fest
I have no idea what genshin was like when i first started. I remember fighting the electro hypostasis with only Anemo Lumine, took me 10-15 minutes but it was kinda fun ngl.
The fun part in Genshin is the early part where traveling are still challenging.
When I played Genshin I immediately sequence break at AR10 to Dragonspine and literally had to burn tons of food and ressurection due to the horde of enemy and environmental hazard. Such difficulty actually made it feels rewarding.
But nowadays traveling become just walking simulator with 0 threat.. food become useless, buff is uneeded, and you can kill enemy even with eyes closed.. it's just a chore
I'm not very good at the game, and I mostly just use Kaeya - Xiangling - Traveler (Dendro) - Barbara. I do have a few 4 stars from pulls that I switch in if I need to, but most of the time I just use those 4.
Sometimes I struggle, some fights take long, but I've been able to clear everything necessary so far.
Challenges with a timer or a monolith to protect are my doom, I usually fail those, but 99% of those are additional content you don't need to touch if you don't want to... And some of them you can complete in co-op with the help of someone stronger. So, they really aren't an issue.
So far the game is perfectly doable with just the free characters, you just may not see incredibly big numbers.

what a genius that guy is! That fight doesn't even require you to beat her(first time as a cut scene will follow once a certain move has been used by raiden shogun). And the second time its sorta the same with some buffs for your character. The weekly boss doesn't have a time limit either.
This is a pure *SKILL ISSUE*
The key is always artifacts. Give some pretty damn good artifacts to all the starter characters and boom, you finished the story.
Kaeya has the highest atk multipliers of any sword user. Give him a decent physical or cryo set and he can do some serious damage. Lisa is now also pretty good with the release of dendro since she scales on EM. Amber even has some fun builds that can do a shit ton of dmg.
i once defeated god with a blunt toothpick, it was easy, all i needed was patience.
Signora is challenging (not only that cold bar is annoying, but the room is small, leaving no space but to be hit by her attacks while healing (and cryo phase will make it a Sisyphus moment if your main healer is barbruh)

beating raiden shogun with the starter team is very possible, it was very hard for me since i didnt use a healer but used food instead, not only that but the 4 starter characters (traveller, amber, kaeya, lisa) for me were not built correctly but it can still be beatable nonetheless

Why do people forget F2P’s exist. I literally beat Raiden with my starter team because I didn’t have any 5 stars other than Keqing at that time, who’s useless in that fight due to electro resist. Also I didn’t have many 4 stars either because I was religiously saving for Zhongli back in 2.2 when I started playing this game. Because of leaks suggesting he was coming soon(2.4). I was also saving resources so my starting team characters(Traveller, Amber, Barbara and Kaeya) and Keqing were the only ones levelled up(only level wise not talent wise). I dark souled my way through the Raiden boss fights. It really wasn’t hard, but hella time consuming.

I've been using starter characters since I started 9 months ago, and I'm nearly finished with Sumeru. Its just harder, not impossible.

Raiden Shogun, like most of Inazuma, is an obnoxious challenge but not impossible. What's really important is your weapons, talents and artefacts. You don't even need super broken artefacts, just good ones equipped to characters with high level talents.

I used Lumine, Barbara Noelle and Xiangling to defeat her, Barbara's healing with Noelle's shield was a killer combination

Technically you can beat any boss with any character, as long as you can dodge their attack.

The whole game is made to be beatable by starter characters.
That's why Collei is a starter character too.
Thats why the bow puzzles are dendro or pyro.
That's even why the bosses have specific gameplay to be able to beat them with starters.
Not sure if Noelle should be counted as one, but Geo Traveler does their job as well.
The best example for that imo is Scaramouche Boss Fight, where the robot-bombs you have to destroy before he does his ultimate hit are vurnerable to specific elements - and the ones you should take down with ranged characters are weak to pyro...
I only used Amber and Lisa and traveler and got through her. No probs, just need to be “in sync with Raiden”
i did this with starter characters because i began the game around inazuma time and i was fighting for my life the whole time. seeing that health bar slowly crawl down.... flashbacks
I had a pretty easy time going through the archon quests. Im new to the game and rerolled for a Tighnari, Layla and Xingque.
Later added Xiangling and am now up to act 5 of Fontaine in a few weeks.

I used to play genshin before college. I made it my MISSION to solo riden shogun with dendro traveller. sure it took some time but I did it. this is the biggest flex of my life

I have been through quite a lot of the archon quests, and the best character I have, and only 5 star technically, is the traveler
you can beat the vast majority of the game with only the Traveler.
I defeated her with only starter characters and my entire team was at level 40 with the exception of the traveler who was level 80. The traveler was the only one with artifacts because my little brother decided that he was gonna "prank" me and get rid of all but one artifact from every character I had built. And I also never farmed for materials for weapon ascension let alone talent ascension. I had dumb luck, but nobody died. I used (Anemo) Lumine, Kaeya, Amber, and Barbara. Was a very tough fight and I had no warning because I wasn't interacting with the fandom. I also didn't have any 5 star character other than the traveler and Aloy. I had no beginners luck.
