You are not just another sailing couple with videos, you are more than that. You are teachers, you are a great inspiration for a new "old" boat owner and future liveaboard. The way you express everything it's just calming specially Maya's sweet, low voice tone. I really thank you guys. Keep up the great job.

Hi I'm Anthony, I'm new here. I keep trying to spot the construction crew, electricians, and mechanics hiding behind the set. But then I realized they are probably with the writing and editorial staff in the office buildings behind the trees.
Seriously, I don't think I could accomplish this. I've got 17 years full time automotive experience, 4 old houses, and half a dozen old airplanes rehabbed but time and lack of experience with sailing vessels confronts me now.
I captained a motor vessel out of Bellingham a few years back and got very interested in spending time going up around and over. YT teleport has been a fave.
Anyway, it is rare IMHO to have this pleasure observing a magnificent boat, people, places, utter talent and the many accomplishments as they unfold through determination on this melancholy grey day as the tree's whispering quitely in the back drop calm my morning.
May the intrinsically good perseverance outweigh both the work load and the very nature of sacrifices.
    Good day!

It took me seven years to renovate a 1899 Dutch deluxe motor barge of 28 meters in Amsterdam. 13 months alone on the skippers quarters in the bow. Much more money than I had ever thought, but the thousand mile road begins with one step and you keep going looking for the light. I salute you!

Life is a constantly changing experience, yet, there is a thread that runs through it and makes a whole out of all those seemingly disparate experiences. Life is amazing, grand, and much more beautiful than we know. I am reminded of this in seeing your project go forward and hearing you share your thoughts and experiences.

That table looks perfect, whatever you do don’t change or destroy it!
If you feel you must enlarge it, then put an old fashioned”leaf” on to it, that opens up when it’s deployed in place, but hinges 180 degrees to store flat, when placed back upright!

Can't wait to see the launching dance still to come. How adorable! Aladino is right to pick the crappy days for the hardest work. It's a way to judo the opposing emotions and make them your servant instead of your master. Artists wait for inspiration from without, but master craftsmen have a master drive within. Best content on RUclips, by far!

Maya, I think you mean there is no winning, reward, achievement, without sacrifice. All through the history of Mankind, there are stories of struggle, pain, and suffering, then great achievement and joy. Celebration follows.
You have no need to explain this in your videos because including all aspects of your lives in them, is simply showing the realities of human social intercourse. Something we all experience every single day.
But!! Well done to both of you and also for such a well edited and narrated video. Both of you are so lucky to have each other because you both bring talents to the partnership that are of paramount importance. And thank you for the videos. They are very entertaining to watch!

Regarding the chart table/quarter berth area, you could make a fold-down seat back for the chart table. When folded forward, the back of it could extend the quarter berth forward. Carefully planned, you could even squeeze some stowage into the seat back itself.

The electrical cables are most likely "stiff" because they are Romex cables made for other purposes and are likely solid copper wire instead of stranded. Stranded is easier to bend (less stiff) and for that reason are less likely to "crack" from vibration, although I can't imagine a sailboat ever vibrating in a manner that would do that, even from a running engine at idle unless it ran TO the engine and the engine was REALLY loose on its mounts. And of course, stranded wire for Marine applications needs to be tinned completely to prevent corrosion that could break some of the strands of wire leading to increased heat in the remainder, and blown fuses or fires. I have seen a lot of crimps being put on bare stranded wire on boats. I think that is asking for trouble eventually. I don't do it.

I really appreciated what you said about pushing through those days when you have a dirty, unpleasant job to do, especially when you are not feeling especially well. I think the ability to do that is why some succeed and some fail. Successful people (whether the success is financial or simply a matter of living life) don't know how to give up, no matter how many times life may knock them down. When I raced formula cars, I taught myself to do fiberglass work, because I couldn't afford to pay someone else to do it, and it had to be done. And though racing in the rain wasn't particularly enjoyable, I liked racing in the rain, because it gave me an advantage by slowing my competitors more than it slowed me. Two or three years ago, my wife and I built a small camper to pull behind her Outback; I designed the frame; she designed the galley, and we worked out the other details together. We didn't have to tear anything out on that project, but some jobs were less enjoyable than others, and we worked on the project as a team. I've been watching your series, because I still have a boat project banging around in the space where my brain should be. Thank you for not glossing over the bumps and for allowing us to see how you fill the potholes.

Aladino, with the fuel tank mounted low , below the floorboards, I suggest you install an auxiliary, high output electric fuel pump between the fuel pump and the first filter… this is the way Island Packet did it on all their earlier boats.

Hearing you speak of working through the gloom, with examples from mountaineering and music, is uplifting. Why?! Because the value of your shared experience will never decrease, it defines you as a couple, enhancing the sympathetic resonance. Thank You.

Love the project you are doing. I enjoy the technical "how to's" from Aladino and yes you have great technical skills beyond playing the violin. Your videos are informative and artistic, keep at it.

You are wise beyond your years. Your enthusiasm and energy in the face of a monumental task and the love between the two of you is so refreshing. Pace yourselves so it remains fun.

Perhaps I've spent large amounts of time in the desert and that's probably why I love it when its cloudy and rainy and dark. I feel I thrive in that climate. Perhaps also I've learned to be comfortable with being uncomfortable so much so that I honestly get irritable when things get comfortable and easy. I honestly would feel so much joy if I were in your shoes. I don't say this to make anyone feel like they need to be this way, it's just how I lived since infancy. Feeling constant pain and resistance all the time is just a way of life for me.

I have been hearing stories on the news about you folks being in a heat wave. We in Australia are accustomed to this sort of weather, but it does bring us bad forest fires. I hope that you are not threatened by this. Please keep safe!

Consider quartz for the galley countertops. It’s impervious to almost everything, from hot pans to chemicals. Heavy, but then so is the boat.

I've been watching y'alls videos for a few weeks now, and want to say that your voice is very soothing, your words very poetic. Y'alls love, dedication, & respect for each other, and y'alls home (magic carpet II) comes across very clearly in every video.
I would like to think had life not delt the hand we have that I would have one day sailed off into the sunset.
My brother Dan was born in 1975, and diagnosed with Peter's Anomaly Plus with Short Limb Dwarfism (PPS) There are less than 90 cases ever reported worldwide, and he is #2 in the world. His stillborn twin was #3.
He is totally blind in his left eye, legally blind in his right (20/400) and only has use of his right hand. He is bedridden and still in diapers. He is also an autistic savant like in the movie Rainman, so he understands the rotation of the planets, but he don't understand "do you want something to drink" is a yes or no question, and just asking him that can send him off into a frizzy that can last for minutes or days. He kniws what time it is day or night without a watch or a clock, but he doesn't understand how his condition effects him, or us.
As a family we have always taken care of him without outside help. It is 24/7 and all hands on deck kinda life.... it's just me, my sister, her daughter, and her granddaughter left. I can say that the only family that has left Dan, has left only in death.
So, I sit here in Dan's World and care for him, I will sail around with y'all on adventures that I can only have because y'all share with the world.
Life isn't always easy, but it's alwasys worth it if you love what you do.
I have a fb group called Dan's World if you would like to check it out, and welcome to join us also. He's the one with his head laying on a baby shark pillow. He is a HOOT & our HEART
Looking forward to sailing with y'all on MCII

Nice episode. A lot of good projects done! I really liked the insightful correlation of happiness vs the challenge. Lots of thoughtfulness and wisdom in that one. Btw, you might want to consider removing that wall between the galley and the saloon, along with those ceiling knees in the fwd saloon. They make the space seem closed in. Removing them will help to have a more open floorplan and appear more spacious.

Yes, doing crap jobs on days you feel like shit is the way to go. It always makes me feel better. You get a job done that you didn’t want to start, it didn’t ruin your mood, since it was crap anyway. Mostly after the crappy part comes the fun part of the job.
Keep up the nice job your doing. Greetings from The Netherlands 🇳🇱…
