Very nice review. I like your presentation style. Agree with everything - Club Suite much better than old Club World seats particulary the amount of storage space and access to it, plus aisle access! Food is generally good but occasionally not. BA FAs are almost always very friendly and attentive in Club.
That one's on the bucket list! Pre-pandemic, Gatwick lounges used to serve proper fried chips (instead of the oven chips you get at Heathrow). Much nicer, but not sure if they've cheaped out since.
Club Suite is a much improved product over the old Ying /Yang CW Seats storage wise but if travelling with a partner your are too remote from them to talk. Still nice to have aisle access without climbing over a stranger ! Keep up the reports.
I think they sometimes rostered the Club Suites planes on this route. The plane that operated this flight G-YMMG is normally based at Heathrow, but sometimes it's sent to the Gatwick, so I guess we got lucky.
Maybe it was moved to EGKK for operational reasons, e.g. short on aircraft. When you were seat selecting in advance, if you did, did it show a club suite layout?@@KenTravels360

Yes, I realised afterwards that Gatwick routes are not scheduled to have the new Club Suites for quite some time!

It actually had been Club Suite layout for months before the flight. So, it was not a last-minute substitution.
