Running in the 90's is a meme I was unaware of before you guys suggested a video on the topic. Thank You. It's a eurobeat song that was created in the late 90's by musician Max Coveri and became extra popular when it was featured in the popular manga series "Initial D". At that point it slowly made it's transition to the internet where it was used on a ytmnd.com fad known as "lol,internet", eventually becoming one of the many tracks of the genre used in videos known as "Eurobeat remixes" which parody initial d with their intense and often funny drift and race sequences. Through it's long and storied history it has become a staple of the meme world being used in videos that vary in a variety of ways. Becoming an iconic soundtrack that gets your blood pumping! Let's go race some Japanese imports guys, last one across the finish line buys dinner.

It’s a manga but the running in the 90s scene is from the anime, you can easily tell he just googled initial d and saw the first thing.

The problem with Running in the 90s, is that it's pretty much your average eurobeat song. There's literally hundreds of other arguably better eurobeats that could have had the same fame that Running has. Sadly, the vast majority of people who watch this video and/or like the song, won't go outside of the top 15 most popular eurobeats that were used in Initial D. But as an avid, genuine fan of the genre, that should change.

@@PITMGN7 I very much agree. It is better for the normies to at least enjoy the popular Initial D stuff. If you only listen to the Initial D stuff though, you're missing out on most of the beauties from Virginelle or Domino, or most themes that don't involve racing. Some seem to think that eurobeat has to be super upbeat and have a racing-vibe, when that's not true at all. I know about 350 eurobeats and I wouldn't call myself an expert either.
Sadly 95% of my RUclips playlist got removed a few days ago because the QuadQueenInc channel, the uploader of the highest quality music, got taken down for copyright. Now I have to remember and find what all of those songs were. For now I'm enjoying a couple of Super Eurobeat CDs that I own, (52 and 100).
I totally agree, about 9/10 songs I come across are songs that I enjoy. I believe if you genuinely like a few eurobeats, you'll like 100 more. At the end of the day, the genre is all about making you want to race, dance, laugh (sometimes) or just feel good.

Little precision, the song appears in the first season of Initial D, but not in the first episode. The song of the final scene of episode 1 is No One Sleep in Tokyo. Running in the 90s appears during the race against Keisuke.
The manga originated earlier, the first stage came out in 1998 and it’s called first stage

'Running in the 90's' refers to the speedometer, which make sense because Intial D is based off illegal street racing and drifting. Also Eurobeat originated from Italy, kinda. Well, Eurobeat is like italo-disco and other European pop songs put together. I think you should've done more research about the song, but overall you did okay and thank for making the video.

1. The song first played in episode 4, not episode 1
2. Maurizio rarely writes his own songs, Laurent Newfield made Running in the 90s
3. The picture you showed of "Maurizio" wasn't him. That was his promotion model, Edoardo Arlenghi.
4. His first Eurobeat song was made in 1991, entitled Love & Celebration
5. Running in the 90s was first released on Super eurobeat Vol. 85, not that vinyl you mentioned.
Edit: My bad, Maurizio actually did start doing music in the 80s - it wasn't Eurobeat (as it didn't exist yet) rather Italo-Disco as Tom Maurice. First song was In A New World
