This lesson fixed my whole swing. Not right away; but with some practice on the range, within a couple of days of balls, it took away every little awkward and discomforting movement in my shitty swing. Along with some other key checkpoints, it really squared up my club face more consistently and now leaves with more confidence & time to work on distance. Keep up the great work on here!
First few rounds after a left hip replacement Chris. This is again an extremely important drill. I'm on the right track again. Perfect Chris and Thank You
Great video Chris! Question on that drill. When I do that drill i have a lot of pressure on my lead foot (left) - but on another video on same topic, the goal is to be able to tap the lead foot. Trying to figure out how to accomplish both ;> Thoughts?
Hi Chris, hope all well. Thank you for this video. I see on this video your hip goes back towards the target (as you mentioned). I think your trailing leg straigtens. How much do you feel there is some knee flex? Some or not at all. From this angle I tried to move towards the left side, I think I could create with this move for space in front of me but somehow it is not working when I do ful swing... From this angle what would you do to put pressure towards the leading side or foot? Thanks
Two key movements: right hip slightly up and fully back, left knee down and forward. Both moved together continuously. This will set the shoulders free to a nice turn, the shoulder turn has to be done parallel with the hips and knees movements.
Chris you got me to do a good back swing but I am having problems getting my left started and moving. Do you have a setup that will help me in get turned and in time with the club coming into the impact?
This happens to me when I inadvertently try to keep my head on the ball in the backswing. Now I 'feel' like I turn my head away from the ball however I believe there's a bit of sway when I do this.
@@ChrisRyanGolf I have seen a stack and tilt instructor actually encourage more side bend towards the target in the backswing and away from the target in the downswing. He showed pictures of legendary players with a similar side bend in their swings. It has often been a criticism of stack and told that it does not work well with longer clubs. What is your take on this?
I don't know if that's what you want but the drill is different from your real swing. In the drill you move your butt to the target and remain in flexion with your spine. In you real swing you limit your right hip moving to target and you extend your spine.
Yeah drills are often different and they are used to provide feels and an understanding of movement, drills and swings will look different in most cases 👍
Obviously no golfer wants to do a reverse pivot on their backswing. But making a K on their lead side at the top of their swing is essential in any great golfer swing. So in reality during your actual swing: as your lead shoulder correctly goes 20 degrees down and around you are naturally using your obliques muscles to turn your torso as I also see your trail knee turning 20 degrees inward and so a K position does appear on your lead side at the top of your swing. Watch your video from this perspective and you will see I am correct. Cheersj

Timely tip. Battled this through today's round. Will give the drill a try. Thanks
Great drill. C-Shape and moving the hip to the right is something I have been struggling with for quite a while.

Wow what a great tip 👏
Great video, well made. Thanks.
Very insightful drill...awesome!
Great vid again. Thanks Chris..

Would this reverse pivoting be likely to have caused my soreness in my lower back?
Yes. On the left side for the right handed golfer. Dealing with it myself
Perfect! Thank You Sir!
Could you do a video on rhythm please?
4:40 there you go.... 😀😎
Would you consider it a stack and tilt fix
No not at all 👍

Unfortunately, my golf teacher asks me to tilt to the target in the backswing!
Every former baseball player needs to see this tip

i am soo much better now
Money!
I bought 2 baskets of balls and 75 hooked on a brotha, I think this was my issue. Had a recorded myself I would know for sure
It's difficult because they teach recentering and this can get confused.
