I have to say. Im a student pilot and have been watching Rich for years. Im constantly reminding myself of his professionalism and awareness while flying. Really a great role model for new pilots and veterans alike.
wow rich I bet they happy to have you park anywhere; and thanks for the simulated engine out; a nice pointer from you about no panic and having time and to look for a spot to land. great content
I soloed in a Maule MXT-7 back in 2001, great plane. Needs lots of right rudder to offset the engine, but a good plane to learn on because after flying these, you hop into a Cessna 172 and it's a total breeze to fly one of them in comparison haha
A nose dragger Maule is sacrilegious. Put the wheel in back, much better. I realize the insurance companies drive the issue. Tailwheel is harder to insure.
8:28 Rich -- careful, you called clear of the active but didn't pass the hold short lines for almost another 15 seconds. Someone reported P1D for this!! ruclips.net/video/lPiO-K5SQ8M/видео.html
As Greg P1D called it, Some guy living in his parents basement decided to be a hero and call the FAA. Huge effing hassle. I mean, by the time he took his finger off the mic, he was crossing the hold short line on the taxiway.

Thank you!
I got my instrument rating in that same make and model many years ago! Brings back memories!
I haven’t seen someone manually prime an engine (no fuel pump) in very long time. Definitely brings back memories. Thank you.
Your pilot skills in so many types of aircraft never cease to amaze me. As an aside I never watch your postings hungry any longer. Great flight.
Great video Rich. Nice to see Maule content, and the discussion on engine out options. Thanks to the owner for letting your take her out for a spin!
Basic and reliable with quite a nice panel. Thanks Rich 😊
That was cool. Never saw/heard of negative flaps. Guess its the old 'you learn something new every day'. Thanks guys!! --gary
Thanks Rich, and the intro gives time to settle in with a coffee.
We’ll keep the intro on just for you!
Another great ride along video. Now that I’ve finally watched I can officially say I’ve been Mauled 🤩
Good one!
I just started flying this model, really great plane!
I love these videos. Keep them coming!

Owner has taken very good care of this Maule. Nice flight Rich.

@@FlyingwithRich He opened the window. I thought he was gonna have a smoke while looking for an emergency landing site. Cool customer.
Looked like that was a fun little trip.
It was a great flight!
Great video, really cool povs ... thanks !!!
Love that plane Rich🤘
The only other GA plane I can think of with negative flaps is the flight design CTLS. Great video!
[ctls driver enters the chat]
Another great one rich!
Thank you!
Rich I love the nose gear Maule and I love the Tailwheel version as well as the 235 hp
Never thought id see you do a Maule.
I love mine. It drags its tail around though.
Thanks for videos. 👍👍
I hope I can fly one day. with my license.

Agree! Thanks for watching!
Nice flight.
Rich, coasting into final from afar.. The controller is like, c'mon man, hurry up and land that thing...
Nice
That would have been great if you guys had known about the open house we had at Corona Airport on the 17th and brought one of your planes out.
Let me know next time!
Gotta catch a Maule!
Forgot about Maules having a tricycle gear model.
Interesting plane. How would it be as a primary trainer. Thanks for another great video Rich.
Flight Design CTSW has a -6 flap trim position.
Very cool!
It kind of makes me think of a being a predecessor to Vashon Ranger
I can see that.
Do my eyes deceive me? Is your videographer wearing a King Gizzard tshirt?!
I listen to Nonagon Infinity while flying laps at Fallbrook. HELL YA.
Haha, yes I am! Nice catch - Matteo
👍
👍
I noticed that on rotation the nose wheel brake failed.

Rich what is the legroom like in the Maule? (as a pilot)
I’m 5’11. Good room to me.
Can you Slip with flap out, on the Maule?

@@FlyingwithRich thanks for the reply. Which lens do you use aswell?
Just don’t try to insure a tailwheel Maule😉💰💰💰
I threw up in my mouth a little with that nose wheel
Lost focus lots of rain, look at that radar😅
