You put the frost on them bigs. Finally got my hands on a TK joythief and its a lo. Came to the best channel i could think of to learn this lil critter. Never knew they came in brook trout
I’ve got a K9 and a TK, both in the Queen color and I kill with both in the exact same glide mode you’re talking about. Best universal swimbait of all time!!! Of course I learned from Geoffrey the King since I live in Phoenix a mile from The Hook Up tackle. I watched him fish the K9 in Queen and kill with it in glide mode so I went out and got my own and fished it that way and it worked out great.
I'm more in the middle of NC as with-in 2 miles from Randleman Lake landing, getting ready to start hitting it with a G Rat Pistol Peter, KGB Chad Shad, S-Waver to name a few, had to piece together a rod and reel setup on a budget = Daiwa DXSB /Heavy/Fast action 8' /2 - 8oz and the reel is the Piscifun Alijoz 300 with the power handles, under $200 combo. Just need to choose my line size to use yet which I was planning 20lb flororocarbon, I kind of feel dumb putting that on something with a reel rated at 33lb of drag as to quickly overpower the line if the drag is not set below 20lbs. Enjoy watching the channel!
Those 2 and 3 ounce glides can be thrown on 15# fluoro or copoly, 20# of either, or braid with a leader of either with no problems. The urge to use heavier line is strong, since the lures are pricey, but if you can force yourself to go down to 15, you'll be amazed at how easy it is to bring them to life. Plus, they run an extra foot or so deeper if you need them to.
Do you ever feel like you spook off more fish in the area getting right on the bank casting parallel to them? I'm old school and make mostly 45-90 degree cast to bank and catch more bass in the area than you think are there. Your thoughts?
Few questions.... 1. Will a dobynsfury 795 with a lews super duty 300 and 17 pound cxx crystal clear work for the tiny clash? The reel.is a 6.5 :1 gear ratio. Any help be great. 2. If not a lot of docks in lakes I fish and cover is not heavy. Where would you fish?
Yes and yes, I use a faster reel because walking the baits I feel the need to to pick up more line faster but a 6.5:1 300 size probably picks up the same amount of line as my tatula 150 7.3:1. Laydowns, riprap, hard points, bridges, creek flows, flooded bushes, pretty much everywhere you think a big bass would live!
Austin ur fluke technique caught me another 5 fish yesterday in 30 ft of water on a shad lake here in VA. Love the videos! Glad u started this channel buddy. Stay FROSTY!
