Great John Larkin. Great jazz pianist, great EDM musician, great person. 17 years since you took the elevator and we're still here dancing to your beats. Your message lives on.
I had a bad stutter in childhood that I eventually overcame in my early 20's. I know a little something of the embarrassment and frustration. Respect to the Scatman for his triumph.
I stuttered for first 20 years. That's from my dad. I tried to fight it and I won. No more stuttering for 17 years. My dad still stutters. I know what Scatman is talking about. I'm no celebrity, but it is possible to fight it and defeat it. Scatman is a huge spark in this cold world. Respect.
Without my stutter I wouldn't be half the man I am today. Learning to accept it and deal with it as a child was far more terrifying than any job interview, so my nerves with life challenges has always been pretty low. If you stutter, people will take you generally less seriously, meaning you learn to make WHAT you say far more convincing. These are great life lessons for a kid. I'm 29 now and will probably retire in my 40s.
My friend has a severe stutter and everyone makes fun of him. He didn't stop speaking because of that tho. No. He used to see Scatman John evry now and then, whenever he felt down because of how he was bullied. He doesn't know how to sing, but that didn't stop him from trying. Seeing how Scatman John changed someone's life for the better, I started listening to him. I've never stopped for the past 15 years. Thank you. RIP Scatman John. You'll be forever missed.
I remember the first time I heard his famous song. I was completely blown away. As it didn't sound like anything I've ever heard before, or since. R.I.P Scatman. Thanks.
You know, even 6 years after this video was made and is now in my recommended. The Scatman is still one of the better artists. That has given many actual hope and showed that despite your quirks and “disabilities” you can still succeed in life, and honestly that’s kinda what we need more of in this current day and age. R.I.P John.
He is a pure Legend of everyone. He teaches everyone to love themselves for how different they are. And they are very unique. I WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU SCATMAN.

Thanks for posting this awesome video ! I Produced John's Jazz album back. in the 80's, I truly miss him and this is a nice tribute.
22 years later, everyone knows him and his legacy continues over the years ❤️
Great John Larkin.
How'd you overcome it?
R.I.P., Scatman John. Your music touched my soul (and still does).
Simply amasing... i was 16 at the time of his fame... we were singin like crazy those songs...he will never be forgotten...😞💖
Respect.
R.I.P Scatman, he gave the world this glorius song. With that song he lives forever in our minds and hearts.
Thank you for helping me when I was a youngman mr. Scatman. You are a treasure and you always be in our hearts and inspiration. Rest in peace.
What a disappointment that he never reached the age of elderly, But he made great music that still got on the radio.
And yet I've never heard about this guy until today, so many years later.
Клипы Джона крутили перед мультфильмами на одном из каналов, мы его любили. Таких необычных исполнителей я больше не встречал. Спасибо Джон.
"Tell me about the colour of your soul" Thank you, John Scatman. RIP
instant respect for a man a never new anything about. ILL SHOW THEM....awesome!
I hope he knew before he died how loved he was. I wonder if he ever imagined how much he'd still be relevant in 2024.
RIP scatman John helped me thought childhood 😊

On ne t'oubliera pas John .
Ba da ba da ba dee ba dop dop dop dop !
From France with love .
Je ne sais pas pourquoi, c e documentaire me fait pleurer à chaudes larmes...
He turns stutters into scat. It's amazing.
I wanna be a human being not a human doing
I couldn’t keep that pace up if I tried
R.I.P. Mr Scatman John.
Still listening in 2022
Without my stutter I wouldn't be half the man I am today.
"How can someone win if winning means that someone looses"
Rip Scatman John
Pretty much the only artist that could integrate a positive message into music and make it sound good.
Rip Scatman
That man is something I can never forget
Thanks.
This world was truly lucky to have John Larkin
You know, even 6 years after this video was made and is now in my recommended. The Scatman is still one of the better artists. That has given many actual hope and showed that despite your quirks and “disabilities” you can still succeed in life, and honestly that’s kinda what we need more of in this current day and age. R.I.P John.
What a genuinely lovely man. RIP. You will always represent the 90’s and whole lot of fun memories for me. Thank you!
He is a pure Legend of everyone. He teaches everyone to love themselves for how different they are. And they are very unique. I WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU SCATMAN.
I still listen to his songs and they bring back good memories, good feelings and his lyrics are just as important today❣️ He will never be forgotten❤️
Much love to you John..RIP... you are loved by my three kids of 11 years old son ,7years old daughter and my 4 years old boy...2022 they found out your songs and kept playing ever since ..almost every single day...💓💓💓💚
Never knew he stuttered. Just proves how challenpges creates depth and how he used his music to try and unite people of all differences as a result.
Alcohol destroys you. Gets you closer to Shaithan. Calling upon Allah gets you closer to your creator, and you are guided and protected.
Good man...
alcohol destroys him
I’m so glad that John became a meme. I originally only heard one of his songs back on Flipnote Studio and the early days of RUclips but since it’s become a meme I’ve starting looking more into his music and I love the messages that he spread! Rest In Peace Scatman John.
He was a meme back in 2012-2013 as well because of “I’m A Scatman”
What a triumphant story. Always kind of liked that song but now I love it. Sleep well, Scatman.
Fez parte da minha adolescência uma música dele, a de 1995. Sucesso Mundial 🏆🎁🍀👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
He's not dead, he's in the Scatman's World.
I wish i would have discovered him before he passed, but i'm grateful to have his work brighten up my life.
Scatman John MUST NOT be forgotten .., an artist, a legend, an inspiration ....Scat in heaven John .......
That speech he say's in the intro to 'Song of Scatland' is something to be treasured. Never heard a nicer speech. Beautiful song. 💯
RIP Scatman John. My childhood would never have been the same without his music. 💕💕💕
