  • Let's crack open and play the latest title from Stern Pinball - Jurassic Park: The Pin. This "Pin" version is designed and built for the home use market and costs somewhere around 2/3 the price of a Pro model commercial unit and 1/2 of a Limited Edition arcade unit. In this video, we'll unbox, set up, and play a couple games on this machine. After we get some time to better understand the game, we'll be back to give a more in-depth look of the features and gameplay, as well as the differences between a Pin and a commercial Pro pinball machine. I got my Jurassic Park from www.FlipNOutPinball.com and highly recommend them as an honest and responsive distributor.

    I had the jp premium last year but sold it to cover some unexpected bills, I missed it so when this pin was announced I preordered it. I gotta say weirdly I enjoy the layout and the simple code more. I would be pissed if I owed the jp pro. This version beats it hands down.

      I agree and I like how the rules are left open for you to choose how to accomplish the objectives to start the wizard modes. There are a few things I'd love to see polished in the code, but I am having a lot of fun. Restore Power is a very cool mode!

    Thanks for the video. Can you turn the volume off on the machine or at least lower it? Or will it always be the same volume? Thanks for the help!

      Yes, volume is controllable on the game.

      I have heard negative things about Stern machines. Are you experiencing any problems? I am looking at the same model you bought.

      @@teamevansfis No maintenance issues aside from a missing screw securing the Raptor pit gate, and the leaf switches on the Raptor pit were too sensitive (they started triggering on their own), so I just bent them a bit to behave normally. I have two other Sterns and they have been very reliable.

      I joined a league this year, which has given me the opportunity to play a lot of different machines. I haven't played a Sharpshooter but have had a lot of fun on some other early SS machines like Dolly and Dragonfist. Used game prices have gone crazy lately and I felt this game was a good value compared with a lot of so-so used games with asking prices higher than this.

      @@flyfalcons Glad to hear. If you visit Pennsylvania, I know there is a place called Pinball Gallery in the town of Malvern. I got to know the owner quite well.

    How is the unit after having it for awhile? I have a lot of arcade machines but only virtual pinball because of the crazy prices. Is this worth investment?

      I sold this machine a few weeks ago to make room for a Mandalorian. It held up great over the last year and looked and played like a brand new game when I sold it. The new owner is very happy with it.

    It looks amazing and I'm currently saving up for one but it sounds so loud! I know they're not going to be quiet but my Wife hates loud noise, is there a way to turn the volume down for when the dinosaurs roar? The sound doesnt bother me at all but my neighbours and my Wife wont like it. I'd have to play it during the day or something

    • @flyfalcons
      @flyfalcons  2 года назад +1

      Game volume is easily adjustable in the menu but a majority of the noise comes from the coils firing (flippers, pop bumpers, slings). There is a hole in the bottom of the cabinet for a speaker that can be covered, which should help. But pinball machines do make noise, especially on a hardwood floor. My game room does not dampen sound much and I don't play the pinballs after my kids go to bed.

      @@flyfalcons That's exactly what I have in my man cave, wood floor. Thanks, lots to consider before purchasing one these awesome pinball machines. The Iron Maiden or Godzilla machines are top of my list but they're very pricey. Are there any other Pinball machines being released for a similar price to your Jurassic Park Pinball machine? Cheers

      A few members of my pinball league are coming over to flip this in a couple days, should be fun! So far I'm happy with how it plays. Fast game and I keep finding myself saying "just one more game".

    I had a JP Pro (not having the t-Rex head is one less thing to break) and got rid of it after a couple of months. Brick fest. This version is a way better layout. Wish they would use this layout in a full size cabinet with legit wood playfield. I have that Star Wars too.
