Michael thinking he can run the company after he lost untold amounts of money during the crash of Wall Street is laughable.
And yet so typical of so many powerful people - like the bankers that caused the 2008 financial crisis and then gave themselves bonus' and kept on going. Psychopaths these people.
He lost £500k during the crash
exactly, the audacity, lmao. nothing like asking to take over after proven useless.
The even more interesting part, is that Michael wanted to make the company entirely illegal, while Thomas was struggling all these seasons to make it legal.
Easiest way to describe this episode is a masterpiece of tension, most had the feeling the plan was going to fail but still being on the edge of your seat for an hour is some accomplishment!
You knew something bad was going to happen as Mosely never suffered that fate in rl.

I like that Tommy let Michael keep talking so he could think and figure out what he was going to do about it.
Or more like keeping him talking so he could dig himself a bigger hole, the more he talks the worse it gets.
When the show first aired I literally punched the air when Alfie was shown to be still alive. He is one of the greatest TV character creations of all time.

The last time we see one of the most wonderful, beautiful and incredible actresses there was.

This is also the first season where the Big Bad doesn't get dealt with by the finale. Season 1, it was Kimber. Season 2, it was Campbell. Season 3, it was the Priest. Season 4, it was Changretta and the Italians. Now it's season 5 and Mosley makes it out of the season alive.

When Micheal first appeared on peakys on s2 I always suspected this might happen. I could just feel it when he wouldn't listen to Tommy about getting the train home. It's a shame Micheal got greedy

OMG--the look on Steven's face when he heard Alfie. Too right, the conversations between Alfie and Tommy are legend. I think as the actors are friends in real life--their comfort playing off each other comes shining on through. Alfie is my fav character in the whole series. Hardy just took that role to the 'nth' level.
I have no connection with any blood relatives, so idk if I'm part gypsie or not, but that line " you gotta keep moving or it all catches up with you" hits soooo hard

I know you guys don't react to subtitled stuff anymore (Thanks to the jerks in the cyberworld's comments), but AT LEAST WATCH IT on your own time because you would BOTH LOVE IT! It has a Game of Thrones style to it with all the back-stabbing, but based on real events, like Vikings. FANTASTIC show!
Its beautifully cast in to the pre WW2 history, with Oswald Mosley being legit a major fascist and big player in what came to be.

Watching the Season 5 finale of "Peaky Blinders," I was reminded of the end of Stephen King's "The Dead Zone" and the Season 4 finale of "Boardwalk Empire." Both featured a failed assassination attempt (and in the case of "Boardwalk Empire," one gone horribly wrong). That said, if you love "Peaky Blinders," you should totally watch "Boardwalk Empire" next. I borrowed the DVDs from my local library after finishing "Peaky Blinders" and I think "Boardwalk Empire" is even better.
The way Michael explains has true facts.

Everyone theorized that Alfie was still probably alive after season 4, and seeing him pop up out of nowhere is one of my favorite moments of the entire show lol. Season 5 was missing something for me personally, and seeing Alfie in the finale solved that issue lol.

Have you guys noticed the parallels between SOA and Peaky Blinders? Family above all - good guys doing horrible things for the right reasons... us actually rooting for the good guys to do the bad things.... :) It's crazy when you think of the two shows together.
