I’ve heard this growing up on our farm & yes it can be scary to hear. Nature is beautiful but, animals are somewhat like we humans….hard to get along with. Thanks for the amazing videos!
My wife and I feed raccoons from our porch every night. There are 4 different groups. The alpha female and her kits come up the steps and stay in front of us. A second female and her kits are behind us. The alpha female’s older offspring stay on the ground, right beside us. The second female’s older offspring climb onto the roof and lean over the edge to grab food from our hands. The groups are quite animated and snarl, growl, hiss, and even chirp at each other. Before they started occupying different positions on the porch, they would fight. No one would get hurt. Its was usually the alpha pinning the smaller ones to the ground. I have a spray bottle of water and my wife has her flip-flops. She’s swatted several of them with her flip-flop. It’s comical to watch them come up for food, but constantly glance down at her feet. If her shoe comes off, they scatter. Those little critters are so smart.
