Not many things done in colour anymore. Cars, portable items etc. don’t seem to come in many different colours anymore. Used to see things in all kinds of colours, especially the Panasonic portable radios, or Radio Shack used to have a small army of radios in various colours! Thanks for the video.
Another awesome video I sure do appreciate all the time and effort that you put into your channel and for sharing all this wonderful information with us 60s babies👍👍
A lot of copper in that radio, I am becoming envious of your collection as the UK did not have many 'pocket radio', domestic production was for larger equipment. That is a nice shade of green.
Green and black is one of the best color combinations in the spectrum. I love this transistor radio and if any baseball broadcasts are still on AM radio, this radio would be perfect!
Hi l want to say l always love your presentation when describing these gems. You have a very nice informative way of explaining these models thank you.. StayWell
Thank you for another fine video, yes, I like the color green, it reminds me of money but mostly I like green because I'm jaded from seeing so much red
Another awesome video!...saw your video 9 years ago on the Sony TR-55!!…amazing that it still worked with what I assume were early germanium transistors!!!...Was the TR-55 sold in the USA or only Japan?
Oh yes, I know that colo(u)r from MGs and Jaguars and Triumphs back in the day. Are you in the UK? If so, do you find green products as few and far between there as they are here in the US? People here NOTICE green, and some will even profess admiration for the loud green corduroy pants I sometimes wear. But I think they aren't admiring the pants, just my courage for wearing them.
@@collectornet Yes, I'm here in the UK. You're right about plenty of the older cars being green. Most cars these days are boring colours like grey, silver, white. I have noticed recently some bright red cars, particularly Mazda's. I can't say I've seen many green products about other than fake grass (yuk!) and the fake plants at work (another yuk). My car is a Rover 75 tourer. One of the last cars made by MG Rover before they shut down in 2004. You keep wearing your loud green corduroy pants (Trousers here in the UK!) and being noticed. And a big thank you for all your work on the videos... very much appreciated.
Green looks good to me you don’t get of green coloured cars on the road now but you do get a few watches now one of my collecting addictions I have one or two green watches more the straps being green
There's a video on this channel about the Regency XR-2A earphone-only radio. I assume that's the model you're referring to. Why don't I play the radios? First, any amount of anything that comes out of any radio I would play in a RUclips video can be claimed as copyrighted material by its creator (music, ball game, etc.). This can cause any number of hassles, from the video being taken down, to demonetization, to having the video monetized by someone else (the copyright claimant) who can then run any number of ads over my video. All these risks just so we can "hear" the radio? Remember, you are not really "hearing" the radio at all, you are hearing your own speakers or earphones. It may be a nice bit of theater to turn on a radio and hear it play but it's just not worth it--to the channel or to its viewers.
@@collectornet Geez, the copyright thang... what a PITA for 30 seconds... yes, of course we hear your mike and my speakers....but we still get a relative impression. I have always managed to compensate for these variables. Once I interviewed for a chief engineer job at a local radio station. The owner had the audio playing through some cheap speakers. "How does it sound?" he asked. I'd listened at home and in the car..and knew how it sounded ( robot carosel playing cassettes) "OK" I told him. He pulled the cheap speaker card- which I was fully aware of. End of my interview with that clown, and my interest in working for him. Anyway.. plenty of reasons.
@@collectornet I will look I didn't know the model number... and the ad you displayed only calls it the midget. thanks for the reply... I enjoy your comments tremendously !
The Regency XR-2A is referenced and shown in at least a couple of the videos on this channel, starting with the one titled, "Rare 1958 shirt-pocket-size radio Philco 'Veep' transistor, vest pocket size"

i would have liked to listen to the reception, anyways.

My first car was green. A color called " Ivy Glow." Loved that color!

Nice radio. Great color. Sweet circuitry build quality. Thank you again for another wonderful and informative video.
FWIW, I remember transistor radios with vinyl cases.
Green is the best colour. A combination of green and gold is even better. Great little radio.
Is Saint Patrick’s Day or is Cinco De Mayo the most drunken of holidays?
I like green! Very cool radio 👍📻Great video as always! My first transistor radio is green. Cheers!
nice
Interesting radio. I think it looks sharp. Pun not intended. LOL😅
Where's the pun? Haha
Another great vid! Love the boys radio, you have some really cool radios! Thanks again for sharing some of your collection!
Don't forget cash. That's my favorite type of green!
I just bought an Angel in red.
A little late for Saint Drunks Day 🥴

I have a Mexican made Baja Portable... you guessed it. It's green ! w6wuh
Have you ever done any audiobook recording? You have the perfect voice for mid-century sci-fi.
Thanks (I think!). No, I haven't.
Geniuses like green.
Not my favorite color - but I like it.
I bet that is _Kermit The Frog's_ favorite transistor radio...😊

I think only Japan. If it were offered in any other country, first on that list would be Canada.
My favorite color.. I had a green '72 Chevy Vega, I wish I had kept. I still prefer the OG 107 military fatigues.
I had a '71 Chevy Vega in that green!
@@collectornet 👍
I've actually been looking for that Eric Wrobbel - Sixteen Years LP on Distortion! Nice radio too..
Now, WHY would you want that Sixteen Years album?
@@collectornet The lust of a record collector! I’ve only heard a track or two from the album but I want it!!
The last known sale of one of these was a month or so ago, on eBay. I think the sale price was $500.
@@collectornet Crazy how the lesser known titles can sell for crazy money!
My car is British Racing Green. I've had it for 19 years. It often gets admiring comments on it's colour.
