One of your finest videos. I flew for many years but never achieved the type of epic fights that you routinely accomplish. I'm in awe of your skills as a pilot, videographer and photographer. I appreciate you sharing these videos.
Outstanding video that brings back great memories!! First flew Owens and Gunters Launch back in 1983. Had similar north bound flight as yours getting to 15,000 going past White Mt peak. Then continued north past Boundry Peak landing in Nevada at old dirt airstrip at Basalt near HWY 6. Gunters was a popular launch site then and site of numerous hang gliding XC competitions including the then World Famous XC Classic! See: ruclips.net/video/bWmLH8NjoAE/видео.htmlfeature=shared Glad to see it is still being flown today. Chuck Rhodes Hang IV #214
Thanks for the comment! Great to see how the pros flew back in the early days of the sport. And without the advanced gliders or electronics we have now. Unfortunately there haven't been any comps in the Owens in many years due to declining interest and insurance costs. Regardless, a small group of dedicated pilots fly there every year. It's always the highlight of the year! I'll be posting another video of a flight from Walts soon.
Haha you're right, I'm usually very strict about using the right names, but pilots generally refer to the whole area as Owens Valley. Technically I didn't fly in the Chalfant either, I flew over the white mountains and landed in the Owens Valley
Sights that few people get to see. Thanks for taking us along!
The narration is a huge help.
Wow, great video, awe-inspiring.
Excellent!
Nice flight! I would like to get over there and do that to.
Amazing.

What a view! I love the time lapse, really brings out the feeling for free flight videos.
Owens valley is amazing really defines the western US rugged nature hasn't changed in million of years.
Thanks for the comment. I love that place, it's geology is so fascinating and the rugged terrain is calming and humbling

Hi Soham - Dennis (Murchison) in NZ. What time did you launch?
Around 1:30 pm, could have launched a bit earlier too.
