Personally, I really like Zero Mission, but that is more than likely because I haven't played it in over a decade and have no modern opinion on it. Back when I played it, my brother and I had Fusion and Zero Mission, and I liked ZM more because it was a lot more open ended than Fusion, and I always liked to explore more in games. I have a feeling if I played it these days I would genuinely dislike it. Floaty controls are hard for me to put up with, so are heavy controls like 1 has where you can kinda feel Samus' 900 pound bird armor. Metroid Dread has probably my favorite movement in the game. As much as I wasn't a fan of Dread, I think the movement felt the best, the way you can just look at a room layout and basically see 10 different ways to traverse it, and they ALL look good.
