Recently purchased this Samsung Q600C soundbar @ Best Buy ($399) and I must say that I was very impressed with the sound quality and performance of this soundbar. Also, instead of using the original HDMI cable that came with the soundbar, I upgraded the cable to an Audioquest Cinnamon 48 HDMI cable ($180) for superb sound.
HDMI is digital, the cable will not make a difference in sound quality, you either have a digital signal or you don't. It's just a stream of 0's and 1's. You either got the 0's and 1's or you didn't.
You spent 180 bucks for an HDMI cable? Don't get me wrong, some HDMI cables are better than others, but unless you need a really long one, which needs to be very well insulated, it's completely pointless to spend that much money on one. It's a digital protocol, it doesn't need anything that fancy 😅.
This soundbar plays music very well! Mine is connected to a computer with bluetooth and plays very well through bluetooth! The settings are on surround and the bass setting is -2. Through the HDMI Arc of the TV, the settings are Q-symphony, surround and bass -2 and it plays very well! It is good to watch movies with "adaptive sound" setting. Otherwise, I usually listen to music through a home stereo amplifier 192-385khz, 24bit and large floor speakers 23Hz-40Khz.
Thank you for this video. I remember walking past my TV and sound bar setup up with them on my right, but distinctly hearing some of the sound coming exclusively from the wall across the room on my left. The 2 channels pointing up and bouncing sound from the ceiling then off of that wall would explain it.
I just bought one of these for a ridiculously low price of £247 - I was going to go for a more expensive Sony 5.1 until I heard a comparison on RUclips video and it was chalk and cheese - The Samsung was far, far superior on clarity, depth and treble response. Glad I watched the video concerned before and not after purchasing the wrong one!
I'm interested in this unit at the price its at (sooo cheap) but i have a Panasonic 55" OLED GZ950 and am wondering if there will be compatibility issues, do you have a Samsung TV?
I did the same, £240 and added the rears for £180, so £420 for both. I wanted the q800, but at the time it was still anywhere between £650 to £850. Then £250 for rears. This sounds amazing for Blu-ray, games and music. Very loud. Height channels are barely noticeable at 10w when front is 180w 🙃
I’ve had the 600c and new Samsung pairing with CU7000 50” Samsung for my bedroom setup. I’m really impressed with newer movies however this Soundbar doesn’t handle older movies or tv shows as well as my Bose cinemate321 digital which sucks but if I want like the new Transformers Rise of the Beasts the Samsung Soundbar is awesome. I feel with all the newer technology they will get increasingly worse for older movies and tv shows that don’t have the new sound profiles of today.
I noticed older songs sometimes don't come out great on it. Modern songs by SZA are excellently mixed and sound perfect, but when I listened to Sussudio by Phil Collins the vocals were so quiet I thought something was wrong with the speaker and considered returning it.
I have the Q990C it’s superb for Netflix and Amazon prime making use of the Dolby Atmos etc for films and music. I have a separates system for music streaming, cd, etc but the Samsung does a great job giving out all the small details revealing it in all its glory alone with an excellent balanced bass.

I have a dilemma which one to leave. Even though Bose does not have a separate bass speaker, it does a great job and I am very pleased with it, it does not take up much space under the TV and is elegant. The Samsung, on the other hand, is much larger and has a separate speaker for the bass, so the bass is more noticeable and catches my ear better than the Bose (but I must emphasize that I like both). Recently, I listened to a Soundbar for PLN 2,600 at my family's house and for me the bass was like crazy :) I connected both soundbars to the TV with an HDMI Arc cable and this is how I listen to and test them. I feel like it would be quieter when viewed optically, but I'll check it out later. At the beginning, I couldn't handle the Samsung because I turned the volume up to 100% and it played much quieter than the Bose, e.g. at 40%, I set something in it and now it's at 12-15% and it's loud, the night mode was turned on, which makes it quiet. probably everything except the sopranos :) I have a TV with Play via optical fiber, I run Amazon Prime, RUclips, Netflix, etc. and only on RUclips it is the quietest, while on the rest of the applications it is loud. I noticed something like this: a Disney cartoon is playing in English, it's very loud at volume e.g. 15, I change the language to PL and I have to turn the volume to 100% and there's nothing great either. Why is this the case with Samsung? I'm still checking if it's the same with Bose, but I think it will be the same everywhere. Does YT or the Polish language have a different sound coding and that's why it plays so much quieter? I still need to check what the sound will be like from PS5 and from a pendrive with a movie.
Been using it for almost a month now, in general terms, the sound is nice and everything works flawlessly. However for me there's a huge BUT: when you use Q-Symphony along with a PS5, there're issues, not on all games ofc, but it happens then when the voices come behind a character, then the speakers duplicate the voice and it sounds hella weird

OK so I bought one and have ylto say the quality is top class, but there is little or nothing going to the subwoofer. So no matter what settings I have it on.... base 6+ treble 6- subwoofer 6+ and no matter what sound mode I have it on its just to much treble or just too high pitch..... I think it is because the subwoofer even at 6+ is Bearley doing anything. I don't think there is a problem with either the bar or the sub I just think there is not enough coming through the sub... Any suggestions or ideas
There is a number of factors. Sub could be defective, Your room might be too big or carpet could be dampening the sound. I think the best way to test it would be to play some modern rap through bluetooth and see if it sound louder. If its still lacking than it could be a bad sub. But remember it is a smaller compact sub so its not going to sound as good as a large hardwired 10-12" sub.
Factory reset your system, when you restart turn the sub on before the bar. Check you are in Arc or eArc socket if using hdmi. Check Atmos is enabled on TV. If not Atmos, put your main device into the soundbars hdmi input. I have mine at -6 for daily TV, and up to -2 for movies, and it has very good low sound. @WaltsTV Great Review! I am looking to connect a Samsung Q750C sound system. Will the eARC cord that comes with it suffice or should I be looking at the Audioptics Vodka eARC sound bar cable? Also would love to hear your opinion on the Cinnamon 48 vs the Carbon 48 for PS5 Gaming? Thanks
Ive been trying to look for a good soundbar under 300 for ages and this one is currently 300 on amazon. The main reason i want one is for movies, and i also love bass. Should i get this soundbae
Great content Justin! I'm trying to decide between the HW-Q600C vs. HW-Q700C for a 15'x19' room with 8' ceilings connected to a 65" Samsung QN90C. Viewing distance is about 11', and the room is bright with lots of windows. Thoughts?
Thanks! So both are great options, the 700C is basically the same soundbar just a little louder. I think that it depends on the price because the 800C is the best sounding for the extra money in my opinion. And also you already invested in a great TV which is half of the battle!
The upfiring speakers on 700 are better, and it has WiFi. Thats pretty much the difference. Q600 is much cheaper and you can add rears for nearly the same price as the q700 on its own. Oir that size, similar to my lounge, the q600 sounds great, but i think the q700 should give better height 🙃
hmmm this is tough because I like the SC9 and you have a lg tv. I think surround the lg will sound better but the samung will be a little louder. 700c that is
yes for sure, bluetooth adds delay in almost all cases so its always recommended you have a wired connection. I use bluetooth for music off my phone instead.
Hi. First, thank for you kind review. I have bought today this Soundbar and i have jsut installed, it is seems pretty cool. I have some questions, if you can answer. First, I am not sure that the 2 firing up channels are working, but maybe it is my fault because I don't understand how to make a test. I mean, I simply put ears on them but they seem not too aloud. Anyway, in the instructions, there are the descriptions of the functions of the "CH Level button": I am not sure to understand them. It is texted: "Press the button to select CENTER LEVEL or TOP LEVEL and then adjust the volume between -6~+6 by using the Up/Down buttons". What are CENTER LEVEL and TOP LEVEL? CENTER LEVEL seem the channels in the middle, for the voices, but when i change TOP LEVEL it seems nothing changes. At last, Q-Simphony seems not running: I have a Samsung Tv but I don't know the model and it is at least, 3 years old, so probably it is not good for this soundbar. Thank you🙂
Thanks! yeah so for heigh speakers they should only really be activated for surround sounds like helicopters and stuff going over your head, also when listening to atmos music. Most people expect that rear or heigh speakers should be loud but really they are only focused on the 3d audio not so much the voice and everything else.
The upfiring speakers on this are also not true upfiring speakers but Samsung's acoustic beam tech which is simulating it. That's a point you should've mentioned @WaltsTV
Would this work with the 2023 85” QN90C Neo QLED 4K HDR Smart TV? Would you go for this one or the brand new B650D B-Series 3.1ch Soundbar with Subwoofer (2024)? Thanks!
yes I would defintley go with this, and because they are both C models you will get Q-Symphony 3.0. I will say because you have an 85" tv im going to guess you have a pretty large room. If thats the case the Q800C would be the better option because its bigger and louder and will do a better job filling that space!
I am confused about getting q600c vs s800b? They both are almost same range in my country. But which one sounds better? All I need better sound for movies and somgs...
Hello Justin, i was wondering if a Q700C would have better bass and go lower in the hz compared to my JBL bar 2.1 mk2 deep bass. I want to get immersive audio but i also like listening to music and dont want to have less bass for my music. Thank you.
which is the best 3.1.2 sound bar? i just wanna hear helicopter fly above me i dont care about rear speakers, dont wanna deal with it and i only watch tv show with atmos on tv imo rear speakers is only for gaming, for movies and tv they are rarely used, nobody gonna sneak up on you from the back lol but i game with headphones anyway
Hi bro, thanks for the video. I got a Samsung QN85C smart tv. Is it good idea to have this sound bar, are they compatible? Regards from Dominican Republic 🇩🇴
Thanks for the video. I'll have a question. I bought a Samsung Q800 c model soundbar, but even if I use it or not, when it is plugged in, the bottom of the middle part warms up. Is the temperature here normal or does this happen in different model soundbars? Thank you
Hi @WaltsTV Thanks for this. Im confused between, Q600C, Sony2000 and Polk Signa4. They are roughly same price and features on comparison. Can you make this choice for me?
My honest review: I recently purchased one and i’m very dissppointed. The ARC HDMI is frequently not working when i power on the tv. Only solution i found is a power reset. Bluetooth works fine but i wanted to use hdmi since i understood it offers more quality. Additionally, the subwoofer can’t be adjusted with enough accuracy to satisfy my needs and taste. It jumps from -6 to -12 directly with no option in between. I updated the firmware but no improvement. I can’t recommend this sound bar at all.
@@WaltsTV i really doubt it can be the hdmi cable. The issue is fixed everytime I unplug/plug the tv and the sound bar. When it’s working, the sound is perfect with no cuts whatsoever
If it label Dolby Atmos on below movie titles then we can definitely play atmos sound. Also select Dolby atmos sound on Netflix or go to sound settings in your TV for further change.
My soundbar keeps dropping out audio/cutting out. The firmware is updated and is the chrome. We are using a Heisence TV. Any recommendations? Thinking of taking it back.
I’m looking into this soundbar. It fits the budget and fits the space. I red it lacks bass. Is it that bad?? I will mainly use it for music but it’s going to be used for movies too. Also, what about audio delay on that soundbar. I red 120ms. That’s pretty bad.
I would connect it hdmi-ARC and most audio delay occurs with bluetooth but if you were to ever experience it you just need to power cycle the soundbar and possibly the tv as well. It depends on how big your space is and if the subwoofer is going to be on thick carpet or hard wood floors. I find that the bass is enough for alot of people but you can always use the remote to adjust the subwoofer level!
@@WaltsTV Tank you, I might pull the trigger on it! I see a lot of comments stating there's loss of audio on all Samsung soundbars. I don't want to power cycle the thing every 2-3 days...
Does not lack bass, especially with hdmi sources and most streams. Very good for music. Leave in standard mode. I've had it nearly a year, and the bass is great for a standard size room. Bar volume rarely needed past 20/100. Sub usually on -6 but -2 for movies. Delay adjusts automatically for nearly all sources. Only had to adjust on certain terrestrial channels 🙃
Will this sound bar work with the 2020 Samsung Q90r I just ordered it on cyber Monday and it will be here Thursday this is my first sound bar purchase ever
Hello... I bought the same q600c... I have tv the samsung frame 75, 2022... The best performance is in tv+sound bar hdmi earc or Bluetooth??... Also do you think it needs a better subwoofer?... The subwoofer if placed horizontally will there be a problem with the performance?.. Very pleasant video
Great review. Which model do you recommend? SAMSUNG HW-Q600C or SAMSUNG HW-S800B at same price. The S800B is attractive with its design (I will have a wall mount), but logically its sound is worse. Although I heard the subwoofer better in the S800B. The advantages of the Q600C include support for more audio formats and the presence of an optical input.
yeah so basically they are both similar in sound quality, the 600C will do better with movies because of the height speakers. The S800B is more stylish and if you have a frame tv its almost a must.
Actually, i bought q800b rather than q600c. I paid 16,000 phil pesos for q800b while q600c costs 15,000 phil pesos. Whereas q800b is 5.1.2 while q600c is only 3.1.2 and shorter soundbar and smaller subwoofer. I also bought swa 9500s surround speakers worth 10,000 phil pesos to pair it to q800b so that it will become 7.1.4 adding upfiring speakers at the rear.

I recently bought one of these, but I'm yet to experience the surround effect I heard in the shop. Also, how do you actually play Dolby Atmos content? The manual explains nothing! For example if I play a bluray of an album with an Atmos mix, should it automatically play in Atmos or do I need to select a specific sound mode?
Every sound bar is different, The Atmos or surround modes should definitely be selected and whatever source your watching needs to have 5.1 tag on it at a minimum, some have Atmos label some do not. Do keep in mind that height speakers are not meant to be loud, they are meant to focus on the 3D aspect of the soundstage, and also the type of room and ceilings its in will have an effect on it as well.
These speakers should get a ac3 5.1 going through passthrough to the soundbar? I did that and it had missing channels or something. Could barely hear voice

For gaming I would look at the carbon or vodka and for the sound bar you can do cinnamon or even forest. And thanks for the feedback!
Ive been trying to look for a good soundbar under 300 for ages and this one is currently 300 on amazon. The main reason i want one is for movies, and i also love bass. Should i get this soundbae
oh yeah if 300 is your budget this is an amazing option!
Hope you bought it, and if you did, how is it? 🙃
Dear Walts TV, thanks for this great video! Will HW-Q600C be a good choice for samsung qled 55 q95t 2020? Regards!
Yes, and its more based on the size of your room than the TV
I agree it would be at size of room because its space fit feature will commence.
Yep 🙃
Thanks for the review, should i purchase a HDMI 2.1 cable for this?
Yes for sure, I recommend audio quest. ruclips.net/video/9qdGmlP1bz0/видео.html
Great video! Is it worth going for Q700C or Q800C? Q600C is currently selling for 349 €, Q700C for 440 € and Q800C for 499 €.
I think its more worth jumping to the Q800C. A Better soundbar designed for a bigger space!
@@WaltsTV honestly my room is quite small... and Q800C is the cheapest 5.1.2, thats why Im not sure about the quality.
So what are you getting? Q700c? @@uviestn8319

Q600 for sure. the 600 has 2 height speakers which make the bar louder and way better surround.

same, different countries
How is this sound bar for clarity/sharpness of voices in streaming voices?
Hi, It has voice enhancement mode. For my experience with this product, it's so crisp and clear.
Thanks for sharing!
Very good clarity in standard. The other modes disable centre channel 🙃
How is it different from Q600B? What’s new? What’s extra?
New Q-Symphony 3.0! Also second year with similar build so they are able to fix more things.
Lg9c vs q600 or q700. What's your recommendation. Have lg tv. Priority is surround effect, Dolby, use for content watching
hmmm this is tough because I like the SC9 and you have a lg tv. I think surround the lg will sound better but the samung will be a little louder. 700c that is
Sounds awesome!!
so are you!! (for being a subscriber)
I have it and I have a doubt, do you notice a difference in the time of sound between BT connection and HDMI connection?
yes for sure, bluetooth adds delay in almost all cases so its always recommended you have a wired connection.
@@WaltsTV Thank you🙂
The upfiring speakers on this are also not true upfiring speakers but Samsung's acoustic beam tech which is simulating it. That's a point you should've mentioned @WaltsTV
Is it good idea to use HW-Q600C with TV Sony Bravia OLED XR-77A80K - or would you recommed something different ?
With that size and picture I would look at something with a little more kick. something like the Q800C.
I have a samsung q900c soundbar with my sony xr75.
Can you use this when the TV is off, just to play music from your phone with bluetooth?
yes, thats one of the great things about this bar is you can connect your phone with Bluetooth.
Q600, it is ridiculously loud though. It has height channels, which not amazing do add something. But a very good bar 🙃
Torn between q600c and sony s40r. Which is better? I have TCL TV
I think the Q600C has better sound and design
What is the diff btwn q600 and q800 just 2 additional front speakers thats it??
yes and bigger heights, but in terms of sound quality very similar the 800B is just going to do better in a bigger room than the 600
I am confused about getting q600c vs s800b? They both are almost same range in my country. But which one sounds better? All I need better sound for movies and somgs...
800B will sound better, its a bigger bar with more speakers its just a few years old vs the 600C is newer
Excellent quality soundbar
Thats what I am saying!
Hello Justin, i was wondering if a Q700C would have better bass and go lower in the hz compared to my JBL bar 2.1 mk2 deep bass. I want to get immersive audio but i also like listening to music and dont want to have less bass for my music. Thank you.

@@WaltsTV hello, is the difference between q800c and q930c big? thank you

i just wanna hear helicopter fly above me
i dont care about rear speakers, dont wanna deal with it and i only watch tv show with atmos on tv
imo rear speakers is only for gaming, for movies and tv they are rarely used, nobody gonna sneak up on you from the back lol

Thanks for the video. I'll have a question. I bought a Samsung Q800 c model soundbar, but even if I use it or not, when it is plugged in, the bottom of the middle part warms up. Is the temperature here normal or does this happen in different model soundbars? Thank you

Hi @WaltsTV
Thanks for this.
Im confused between, Q600C, Sony2000 and Polk Signa4.
They are roughly same price and features on comparison.
Can you make this choice for me?
If you have a Samsung TV go for the Q600C. If you dont then you can look at the signa4 which has better vocals but not as much bass.
HDMI cable could be the issue, quality and directionality are overlooked but important factors to keep in mind.
@@WaltsTV i really doubt it can be the hdmi cable. The issue is fixed everytime I unplug/plug the tv and the sound bar. When it’s working, the sound is perfect with no cuts whatsoever
try change the cable first@@eric_sole
@@eric_sole i would just try switching around the hdmi cable to see what happens

How can i connect a wireless microphone to my samsung q600 soundbar?

my q600c soundbar not showing dolby atmos when playing netflix movie....

@@WaltsTV tried with movie that support atmos....it just show dolby digital +
If it label Dolby Atmos on below movie titles then we can definitely play atmos sound. Also select Dolby atmos sound on Netflix or go to sound settings in your TV for further change.
My soundbar keeps dropping out audio/cutting out. The firmware is updated and is the chrome. We are using a Heisence TV. Any recommendations? Thinking of taking it back.
It could be the hdmi cable, not the soundbar. If the connection is loose just a little it could really mess up the experience.
Do you have a review about Sony HT-G700?
I do not but if you have a samsung tv this is the better option
Would you say that this is better than the Kilpsch cinema 600?
thats hard to say. For music no, for movies yes.
I don't want to power cycle the thing every 2-3 days...
you shouldn't have too, I havent on mine yet.@@charleslaflamme2691
I've lost no quality. Works nicely. Using earc ideally. Def use a cable!

Would these work on aw3225qf monitor and a LG tv

For example if I play a bluray of an album with an Atmos mix, should it automatically play in Atmos or do I need to select a specific sound mode?
Every sound bar is different, The Atmos or surround modes should definitely be selected and whatever source your watching needs to have 5.1 tag on it at a minimum, some have Atmos label some do not. Do keep in mind that height speakers are not meant to be loud, they are meant to focus on the 3D aspect of the soundstage, and also the type of room and ceilings its in will have an effect on it as well.
