Those candlesticks are cool I would expect to pay about $50. I love them. You should definitely keep them. I am so disappointed in the pricing and the managers attitude
The heavy item at 8:56 is a tabletop Japanese yakitori grill. They’re specifically made to grill yakitori skewers or other similar Japanese appetizers, that particular one is sold at World Market, I bought mine there.
I am in Canada and I am seeing the same trend of overpricing in the Goodwills here as well. I find that I am spending much more time and finding less items of value. I have, in fact, started shopping more at the competitor thrift stores that are offering better priced items, provide ongoing discount offers to their members and also provide discount coupons when you donate. It's a no-brainer.for me but it makes me sad as I have been shopping at Goodwill for over 20 years.
42:05 was a famous photograph of an Afghan refugee in Pakistan with beautiful green eyes. It appeared in National Geographic in 1984. The photographer looked her up years later and her face was heavily weathered from a hard life and a husband who used to beat her, but her eyes were still recognizable.
Those spiral candlesticks are Courting Candles. The beau comes acourting and father lights the candle. When it burns to the spot he set it was time for the gentleman to take his leave. I don’t remember which culture it’s from. I had one for years. Loved it. Merry Christmas! 🇨🇦
Guardian Ware lids are glass. My mom had a set when I was a little girl. Brought back some memories! The most irritating thing about Goodwill is that they have a documented history of paying their back room workers less than minimum wage, then pay their Managers and CEO's hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. When all of those freely donated goodies are donated, the workers are taught to "cherry pick" the items that can be held aside and sold through ebay, or other resale outlets for higher dollars. What's left over is now so high priced that they, Goodwill, have forgotten what "thrift" means. So now that they've raised their prices, are they paying their back room workers better? Don't know, but I highly doubt it. What the jump in prices means to me is that I, who live on a fixed income, cannot shop there any longer.
Danni, The Goodwill here in mid-PA have lost their minds, too. They had so much Christmas, but hardly sold any of it because the prices were way too high. Finally, yesterday, they put everything at 50% off. Now it's priced the way it all needed to be priced from the beginning. So, they are going to have loads of Christmas left this year due to their price gouging. On stuff they got for free. It's just nuts. A question you could ask in that meeting is that if they are going to charge these ridiculously high prices, then why would they put price tags on top of items where it could possibly damage them? Instead of on the bottom or in a place where it's not going to damage anything? That happens all the time and it's just aggrevating. Anyway, hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Thanks for sharing and thanks Noah for the great edit job. Sue 😊❤
Hi! I believe those are from Home Interiors. They are called “Courting Candles”. If a young lady were to have a suitor coming to visit, the candle was raised to a certain level and once the candle burned down to the metal top, he must end his visit. The candle was set at a height shorter or taller depending on how much the father liked the young man. They were sold in the 1980s.
They make PLENTY OF MONEY. All of their merchandise is DONATED! They have gotten too greedy. I used to thousands a year there. I haven’t shopped in one in years! I refuse.
Please ask at your meeting with goodwill ..please don't put stickers on makers mark. Also need to solve problem with no stickers on items. Thanks, it will help us all.
I live in southwestern Ontario Canada. I don't understand why goodwill keeps raising its prices on things that are donated. I donate a lot of good things to goodwill but I'm thinking I'd be better off going to a shelter with them . There's absolutely no reason to keep raising prices. Everything they receive is free!!!. I'm not donating to them anymore. I guess the landfill will be full. Smh. Sorry but btw do you know how much the ceo makes???? Look it up. It's ridiculous.
I do appreciate the fact that you are going to have a meeting with Goodwill that being said I honestly don’t think they give a crap! They have become ridiculous and the fact that they don’t care/maybe don’t realize it I would have to think they do realize it or they wouldn’t be so greedy and put such high prices on it… I have learned to stay away from them. I go to garage sales, church, sales, sales, estate sales, etc. animal shelter sales half the stuff on Goodwill‘s shelves are busted anyways broke up you cut yourself on things, etc. it’s not even worth it. Our savers has gotten the same way so I don’t even go there anymore. You get these young people in there “Managers” and truthfully, they have no clue what they’re doing. Oh it’s collectible so we’re gonna put a high price on it. They truly have become greed will they are not for the community!
Thrifted today at Goodwill on Maryland and Savers on Tropicana. Wow these stores were fully stocked, clean, organized and smelled nice! Oh to have this quality thrifting in my area!
I loved this entire video, but I'll tell you I LOVED that little table that was $50 (way too much for a thrift store, but it's just my style ❤️). I had to edit to add that I also LOVE the macrame pillow! I buy macrame plant hangers, etc. whenever I find them! Thank you for this longer video, Danni! Merry Christmas to you & your family 🎄🎁
I love the candlesticks! I have one, not as nice as those. I was excited when you found them also. I was thinking you would get much more than that for them. I love watching you. You just make my day.
Our local market this year had 0 Christmas lights (or anything to use as decorations)! Bummer. Several years ago I bought 2 small 200 light bulb strand boxes of lights. They lasted a year's single use then quit working! They were $4.00 each. I guess we were hoping to have something to use. Guess not this time around.
The aquariums were my favorite part. I could visit them all day. I think goodwill is making me sad lately. There are smaller thrift stores that probably deserve more recognition. I give you credit keeping your cool like you did. I myself would probably think twice about going back.
I no longer shop nor donate to Goodwill. The last time I went into my local shop in SC, most things were unmarked, but a sign said anything unpriced was $3. We’re talking about a single plate or coffee mug. No way!
I heard a rumor, or it may be true that goodwill will be getting rid of all discounts on January 1st. No more half off days, no senior discount days, no veterans or medical field day discounts.
@SherryHill-k5y That is sad. If they'd lower their prices all around, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but prices are on the rise, and it's not bennifiting anyone but goodwill. Especially those who are in need.
My Dad and I have made all sorts of stuff and put our own little hammer marks but we did them with different sided hammers and also some scrapes with screw drivers to make it look old.. they turn out so good
My Goodwill in Sacramento CA has removed ALL of the jewelry from the store case and has put it all online. Instead they now have a bunch of overpriced sneakers. HUGE mistake.
Yes, and it's so irritating! I would go in and check the jewelry plus look at everything else. Since the jewelry was my reason for going, I don't even bother now. I'm certainly not going to shop jewelry from them online or pay for shipping.
I quit going to goodwill altogether, things are priced soooo high. What good do they do anymore? Nothing! I live in Seattle and they closed the job training center long ago here!
Noooooooooo! That's sooooo mean how you ended your video. What type of new fish did you get? Do you have any Starfish in any of you aquariums? I love your videos! And i can't wait to hear how your meeting goes with Goodwill about all of our questions.
The brass item is a steam boat. Used in China and other Asian counties. The bowl is filled with broth andplaced over a heat source. The chimney shape in the middle conducts the heat quickly. Noodles, thinly sliced meat veg and herbs are simmered in the broth at the table.
I bought 2 chip and dip platters that were chipped so bad that they could cut you. They wouldn't even take them back. I am not shopping good will anymore. I am going to the local mom and pop shops. And finding better stuff at better prices. It's such a shame it was fun while it lasted
Our goodwill was nice. All clothes arranged nicely by color. I could match mine. Then they changed. Its a mess. No more books too. A grungy o,d tshirt is 5.99. Then, Salv Army changed. A pair of old shorts 14.99. Used lights 8.00. Empty boxes in a stack 20 bucks!
Catching up on my reseller shopping videos. I'm not a reseller but thrift to find the deals. Found 6 Culver lowballs and 4 vintage santa winking mugs at the Goodwill. Best find was a vintage Holt Howard santa pitcher at my local thrift store for 60 bucks. Yep. I'll pay up. No shipping. Good lord local thrift was packed this year. Gotta be picky. Was on the hunt for anything vintage Rudolf this season.
I had to move in July and really, really downsize. I mean even the size of my furniture was way too big for this place. I thrifted all my new furniture, and got some really great pieces. I have some Italian ceramics in my kitchen and my dishes are all thrifted too. We have some great thrift stores other than Goodwill. Oh, i do have some plates on my wall but they are Peter Max and grouped together.
I love to see that you can keep a smile on your face and hold your composure even when you've dealt with someone so rude. I also love your happy place!❤
The Northern New England group of Goodwills has had higher pricers for ages. Instead of red tags, they have "hand picked." which is priced like an antique shop! The prices start at $2, even for tiny juice glasses and dollar store stuff! They are starting a 75% off last week's color tag sale which will last all week (instead of fill a bag for $15 on Mon.--I have fit over $100 of stuff in a bag. But 2, get one free. Now, instead of senior discount being 20% on Tues., it will be 15% off all the time (for vet's also.) I try to remember that I will just have to be selective and use what I have learned from all you resellers when I purchase things!
I already started to fill out the form that was sent , but it was early in the morning and I didn’t want to take my picture then because I just got up to go to the bathroom and was going back to bed , but I just wanted to start the paperwork to join .
If Goodwill has a sign saying no videoing, she’s doing her job by asking you not to videotape. It sounds like poor training and communication on the corporate side. Why would they have a sign saying that, knowing that resellers are allowed to tape 🤷🏾♀️
I have a question As far as the profit margin on the basket that looks like a dragon. You said that as a receller you could not Thought that because it wasn't enough profit but yet.I felt like on the four plates in the very beginning There was a lower profit margin as well.I didn't know if anything else goes into you Decision-making as far as shipping.I guess the basket would be easy to ship as well. But what else do you Think of when you're making that decision. If they're both kind of low profit items
Wow, your goodwill is quite a bit more expensive than mine here in WI. I have seen crazy prices from time to time. Lately they have been marking anything Lennox sky high. I have a question for Goodwill...Why do they put the sticker over the info on the bottom of an item. Please ask them to stop that.
the stickers can be easily placed in an offset manner, so all information on an item can be viewed.
Drives u nuts!😮
At 27:12, the back of the puzzle in the tin had a puzzle piece pictured. I kept hoping you'd turn it around one more time and see it! -Sharon
What gets me is the Dollar tree items that even say dollar tree and goodwill prices higher than a dollar twenty five
Those candlesticks are cool I would expect to pay about $50. I love them. You should definitely keep them. I am so disappointed in the pricing and the managers attitude
The heavy item at 8:56 is a tabletop Japanese yakitori grill. They’re specifically made to grill yakitori skewers or other similar Japanese appetizers, that particular one is sold at World Market, I bought mine there.
at 24:57 the starfish mosaic you passed on was half price green tag

Hiya. I agree. We go to the SPCA shop and the church basement! Value village is ridiculous with their prices in Nova Scotia.

The photographer looked her up years later and her face was heavily weathered from a hard life and a husband who used to beat her, but her eyes were still recognizable.
I remember that issue of National Geographic because her eyes were that memorable. So sad to hear she’s had such a rough life. 😢
MERRY CHRISTMAS DANNI AND FAMILY! 🎄🎅❤️
Merry Christmas to you and your family, and all the critters, too!!
💚🎄💚
Those spiral candlesticks are Courting Candles. The beau comes acourting and father lights the candle. When it burns to the spot he set it was time for the gentleman to take his leave. I don’t remember which culture it’s from. I had one for years. Loved it. Merry Christmas! 🇨🇦
You’re right Noah. No rusty car parts at Goodwill!😀😀😀😀😀
Guardian Ware lids are glass. My mom had a set when I was a little girl. Brought back some memories!

Our goodwill will have a color, but you wont find anything in that color.
Green is half off. You should have gotten the starfish mosaic!
I was thinking the same thing
Oh Danni, That mosaic starfish would have been half off!❤

The oversized plates, are actually what they call, a charger for elaborate table settings.
I saw that Bob Ross tray turned in to a three legged table, not too long ago. It was absolutely the cutest thing!
Some prices at our Goodwills are higher than the original tags on the items. They are crazy with their pricing.
The starfish was green and therefore 1/2 price
Please ask at your meeting with goodwill ..please don't put stickers on makers mark. Also need to solve problem with no stickers on items. Thanks, it will help us all.
I use plates on my gallery walls of different themes (floral, etc) to use among the paintings, etc to add more interesting textures and shapes.
I live in southwestern Ontario Canada. I don't understand why goodwill keeps raising its prices on things that are donated. Goodwill rebranding rapidly ... into Badwill. Yikkes😂
That cadet blue tv stand tray was gorgeous. Glad you picked it up.
I do appreciate the fact that you are going to have a meeting with Goodwill that being said I honestly don’t think they give a crap! The candle holders are courting candles. The parents can adjust the the time and when the candle goes out he has to go home🥰
Thrifted today at Goodwill on Maryland and Savers on Tropicana. Wow these stores were fully stocked, clean, organized and smelled nice!
Oh to have this quality thrifting in my area!
I so agree with you on continuing the item to greatness. Just think if all would reuse items America wouldn’t have to rely on other countries as much.
There is a picture of a puzzle piece on the back of that tin. It does say what it is.
Wood tray might be Star of David.
I love the candlesticks! I have one, not as nice as those. I was excited when you found them also. I was thinking you would get much more than that for them. I love watching you. You just make my day.
Merry Christmas to all here
You too!!
Merry Christmas to you and yours❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
the tin said 300 piece puzzle on the bottom

The picture in the large box of the girl crying is a famous TIME magazine cover sweetie. ❤❤❤ merry Christmas my favorite you tuber.hugg.
Wasn't the star fish a green tag and wasn't the color of the day green?
Some great finds Dani thank you for sharing merry Christmas 🎄🎅🇨🇦
I so agree with you about Goodwill and their pricing. They have lost their minds and have become so greedy.
Merry Christmas ,,,, thank you for window shopping with you ,,, take cate

Merry Christmas my friend California ❤
The Starfish should be half off...green tag
I heard a rumor, or it may be true that goodwill will be getting rid of all discounts on January 1st. No more half off days, no senior discount days, no veterans or medical field day discounts.
The one I go to already has no discounts or tagged items.😢 And no senior day. BAH
@SherryHill-k5y That is sad. If they'd lower their prices all around, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but prices are on the rise, and it's not bennifiting anyone but goodwill. Especially those who are in need.
The tiki wood figurine looks like he is ready to take doodoo.
I needed that laugh, but it scared my spouse who is almost asleep beside me in bed!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
I completely stop going to goodwill so grateful I don’t miss it ,, It was like an addiction so glad I stop going !!
My Dad and I have made all sorts of stuff and put our own little hammer marks but we did them with different sided hammers and also some scrapes with screw drivers to make it look old.. they turn out so good

I watched an interview with a Goodwill employee that said they are pricing items higher. He said they are trying to cut out the resellers.
I quit going to goodwill altogether, things are priced soooo high. What good do they do anymore? Nothing! I live in Seattle and they closed the job training center long ago here!

Danni, the basket had part of the handle missing.
The brass item is a steam boat. Used in China and other Asian counties. The bowl is filled with broth andplaced over a heat source. The chimney shape in the middle conducts the heat quickly. Noodles, thinly sliced meat veg and herbs are simmered in the broth at the table.
Wasn't green half price
I believe instead of dental plumbing, that piece may be called a bartenders faucet.
Hi Danni lv Ann❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I bought 2 chip and dip platters that were chipped so bad that they could cut you. They wouldn't even take them back. I am not shopping good will anymore. I am going to the local mom and pop shops. And finding better stuff at better prices. It's such a shame it was fun while it lasted
I think the boxed piece from China was an indoor grill. They use a special kind of charcoal.
The iron/wood candle holders I have 2 sets, paid like 5.00 a pair at peddlers mall….love them
The color of the day was green. I hope you go back & get that starfish 🤗
Hi, if the clear glass cat says Avon on it that means it's Avon obviously but if it in unmarked it is Indiana glass? thanks.
YES, Goodwill is out of their mind!!!!!🤬
I have a couple of antique courting candle holders. Some can be quite valuable. The ones you picked up remind me of the vintage Amish ones.
Goodwill’s pricing is crazy! Ours only discounts color of day on clothing, nothing else. I don’t go there very often anymore.
I love those candle holders!
They need to not do it to themselves !!!
Goodwill is so expensive so i wont shop there any more
Garage sales , estate sales, and other thrift stores are not ridiculous,,,, yet lol
I wish you a very merry Christmas,,, loved the goodies you found
Love this tray , it has such beautiful color and the flowers
Badwill has gotten so greedy and then a lot ends up in the bins stores!
Catching up on my reseller shopping videos. I'm not a reseller but thrift to find the deals. Found 6 Culver lowballs and 4 vintage santa winking mugs at the Goodwill. I’ve been collecting pretty plates to make a plate wall design.😊

Green was half off
Did the "Gardianware" have glass lids?
I saw a set of vintage enamel cooking set. It was spread out on the shelves. I ate potatoes in one tonight.
Wow, your goodwill is quite a bit more expensive than mine here in WI. I have seen crazy prices from time to time. Lately they have been marking anything Lennox sky high. It is funny because it is not a big seller for me anyway. There is just no consistency in pricing from one store to another. I am going to try estate sales soon and flea markets this summer.
Good will lost their minds on pricing. They are looking for things for pricing. Employee told me that. How sad
I used to have those courting candle sticks. Love those.
Awwww new babies❤❤❤
The pair of candle holders are courting candles. They used the candles to set basically time for the Bo had to leave. Those are reproductions. I have several types of courting candles.
I always call out rude too! I dislike rude people.
Danni You always comment, or look at, unique shakers. Frame 12:43 But you didn't say anything about those shakers that look like Italian wine bottle shakers. I've seen all kinds, but never saw those before. :~)
Good girl, stand your ground. I love your podcasts and love thrifting.
I live in Reno, at our goodwill they will sell you an unpriced item.
