  • The Parkes National Logistics Hub is set to be Australia's largest inland intermodal hub.
Parkes’ location makes it one of the most strategically significant hubs in our national transport network, delivering unprecedented efficiencies and major investment opportunities for transport and logistic operators, manufacturers, freight forwarders, agri-businesses, service industries, importers, exporters and more.
It will be the centre of Australian national logistics and it creates wonderful competitive advantage for any business requiring national distribution.
The vision is huge, the opportunity is huge!

I don't think they have put much thought into it should be double tracks and high-speed passenger and freight which loops around Australia, 200kh inland from the coast than our existing train network in each state providing they are the same gauge that can connect to the main loop. Then you have the opportunity to run high-speed rail (passenger service from the capital city to the capital city) and also have the opportunity to run highspeed freight. such a large loop also gives you the opportunity to run trains the long way from QLD via NT WA SA and destination to VIC which yes takes longer but free up the east coast mainline while delivering a service to remote states (not just the east coast) such a project would connect the whole of Australia instead of just linking QLD to VIC (ports). also by doing such a large double loop, you can run trains in both directions at the same time, and because of its huge size, you can add more blocks (meaning more trains) that can run at the same time.

As good as it maybe ,need to make sure that an unbiased environmental surveys have been considered particularly where prime farm land is concerned ,make sure that water ways and wetlands are not impacted.might sound like a greenie but ,hole point is that if it impacts these we won’t have food for it to carry.let alone general freight.also need to consider transport routes to the hubs ,particularly the highways ,or bush tracks that run to them ,like the newel and Warrego high ways ,what a joke.wasting money on cross river tunnels and pedestrian bridges in the cities really does nothing for our economy ,but providing jobs for the time it’s built, but I am willing to listen to the pros for it and explain to me how it benefits it.just my thoughts.

there is not much difference in environmental impact between rail and rmajor roads which already criss-cross the country.

Double stacked is stupid! It will reduce speed and thwart electrification!

Because a line that is almost exclusively run by freight trains is gonna need electrification 🤣
