I totally get this! I also work full-time and in publishing (in the production department). The only way I've been able to maintain consistency on my channel has been through working from home. Prior to this job, I was in office full-time and it was so difficult to find that balance for content creation. Next month, our team are required to go back in the office again so I have some uncertainty of my current routine, but at the end of the day it comes down to enjoyment and having time to refresh or else it makes everything difficult to work with. I love booktube but it does feel like a job a lot of the time! It's hard to manage and balance at times (even to catch up to the content others are putting out) but I hope you know that we're here for you whenever you do come back!

First of all let me tell you this. Your English was just fine 🙂I totally see where you are coming from. Take from someone like myself. I started making content when I was 29. I was already working full time but, this was an outlet for me to just blow off some steam and destress. I am now 40 years old, with grad school, a wife, a house and in 2 months my first baby. So the last 11 years have been a true journey and a test for me in regards to managing my time and honing my skills in creating videos. I branched out into many different RUclips communities, learned a lot about myself and yes there was a lot of trial and error. In 2020, I scaled back on videos and created a new channel with other creators. It was all done in preparation for the fact that when my baby arrives that baby is going to be my #1 priority and everything else is taking a back seat. However, RUclips is going to be a hard thing to give up entirely just because everything I have learned from these past few years. Regarding books the two big names I am hearing now is Sara J Mass because of her new book and the big news of Brandon Sanderson's 4 secret novels he just announced. Honestly, I enjoy your channel and personality and I honestly wanted to collaborate with you but, I guess that opportunity never emerged. If there is anything I can do to help you out I am always willing to give support! Keep doing what you are doing!

OK Michelle. Firstly, I want to commend you on how real you continue to be to this day. It's a trait lost on so many booktubers, so very much appreciate it still happening somewhere. As far as why you haven't been uploading for a while, this totally makes sense and I can only hope you don't feel pressured to get back to it considering how much else you have going on at the moment. To me, booktube is something fun I do. If it stops being fun I think I would leave. In saying that, I don't want you to leave at all. I love that I have a Dutch Booktuber I can go to, because my mothers side of the family comes from Holland and your channel allows for me to connect to that through the thing I love most, books.
As far as what books you should read - I don't follow the trends so I can't really help you there (although I've gotten into cozy mysteries lately and would love to see your thoughts on them if you are interested in the genre).
As for videos, the one change I don't like with booktube is that we seem to keep loosing the "corner stone" (in my opinion) of booktube - TBRs and Monthly wraps. Now I get it, you are busy. And not reading as much as you used to. However even two or three books would give us an insight on what you plan to read and how you felt about it afterwards. I also love your vlogs. Last year I watched your "A little life" Vlog and it blew me away to the point I read it, based 100% on your Vlog.
In saying that, Michelle, do what makes you happy.
We LOVE you and that's why we're still here. Whether gone 6 weeks, 5 months or a year - we'll still be here because we love you and your content. So you do what makes you happy and I know I'll be there for whatever that is. Big hugs to you Michelle xoxo. 💖💖💖

You do you and take your time. I work fulltime as well and have difficulty combining booktube with it. So I told myself that I only have to do booktube when I feel up to it, which means not a lot of video's, not a lot of edditing and not a very set uploading scedule. But it means I can tackle and still enjoy it

Not sure if it's just me, but I'm seeing way more romance readers/romance books becoming mainstream rather than sci-fi fantasy? Maybe also has to do with the boom of "spicy" books on Tik Tok hahah
Yeah that's definitely true! In the publisher I work for also publishes romance and popular Tiktok titles so I am kind of surrounded by that all the time haha! 😊
