Eileen Jewell and her band are just so good. They're the full package with a great singer out front, a fantastic guitarist and a tight rythm section keeping it all together. Love 'em.
I love this... Her voice is just incredible. She's so achingly effortless. One of our brilliant contributors, Kim, recently posted an article about Eilen Jewell on The Girls Are... We love.
When you move in right up close to me That's when I get the shakes all over me Quivers down my back bone I've got the shakes down the kneebone The tremors in the thighbone Shakin' all over Just the way you say goodnight to me Brings that feeling on inside of me Quivers down my back bone I've got the shakes down the kneebone The tremors in the thighbone Shakin' all over Well, you make me shake and I like it, baby You make me shake and I like it, baby Well, shake, shake, shake Shake, shake Shake, shake, shake Shake, shake, shake
Hate to be a grump but I'm going to tell the truth as I see it based solely on this video. (Other videos of them are more polished.) Although I like her voice, the tempo and rhythmic feel of the band is all over the place. Guitar licks are good but he comes in too early, rushes everything and doesn't allow the song to breathe. Drummer seems to be taking his time cues from guitar instead of nailing down the tempo himself and piloting the band; other members have no confidence in him so basically ignore him; and that snare drum fill is disastrous. The hallmark of any drummer worth his salt is rock steady timekeeping and this guy needs a great deal of work. Vocals are the standout and singer is charismatic but she needs a much better band and everyone else needs to head to the woodshed and practice with a metronome for twelve months and learn what coordinated "feel" is. Again, this comment is based just on what I see/hear in this one video.
+Tim Lobb I think his attempt at a drum roll/flourish on the break was raggedy, pitiful, and gives credence to the answer of why he's in the band....he's married to the lead singer.

Eilen looks exaculy like my kissing cousin that passed away. I wonder if shes avaliable?
Reminds of the doctrine of vibration but then everything does
High quality audio with deliberately distorted (fake film scratches and dust) and low grade b&w video -- I don't get it.
WICKED.

Good thing she's not lonely on the road. He can get a lot more practice out there too.
