I cannot believe that you have to disassemble the whole machine to just replace a trivial mechanical part as fan. This is how dell creates its faithful clients who have to throw their laptop away when the fan breaks. A scandal.
Well, since I'm here... This little monster here is pretty tough to disassemble isn't it? What brands out there do you recommend these days for ease of repair like this? I've seen that HP Pavilions became much easier to open up than they were in the past... Any others? Thanks for the upload :)
So you replace the old HDD with new SSD and as i see that will work in same sata interface !! ? Do you think i can update the video card for this model or add integrated card? Thanks in advance
wow.. not at all. Or at least i can't imagine it being anything easy to accomplish. And if you happen to find the way to do this I suspect the costs involved would easily be more than the laptop is worth and probably as much as a new/used laptop with equivalent graphics abilities. I do however have an interesting idea which is to get an external graphics adapter, but i'm not sure how effective this is with an older laptop such as this. Keep in mind this whole route is likely far more expensive than just purchasing a newer laptop. actually watched the whole video without even skipping a second
Waited 40 minutes to see that freaking fan coming out, having a blast at 42:00 LOL
Nice. Helped immensely with a fan replacement. Traumatic endeavour but patient survived lol
Thanks a lot for this very detailed and useful video

Just got this laptop for $120aud need one for work.
if I'm not mistaken it has an Ivy Bridge i7 inside of it (4 cores!!!) So it's not a slouch... I wonder if it can run Cities Skylines
well this is old video i know but i want to tell you that that CPU is de-attachable you can simply plug that out and just clean that old thermal paste
