Hi Everyone! I just made these for the first time. I used the old fashioned bic pens and took the stopper out. Then I put the stem inside the pen and used the floral tape around it! It worked out great! Thanks for the tutorial!
Oh, I forgot to mention. These are great to have at the work place. People are always snatching 'your' pen from you. You'll always know where your pen is, because its unique! :-)
I make these every year and give them to homeless mothers for mom's day....I also decorate a jar from the dollar tree to put them into....these flower pens are so awesome! My flower pens are made by taking off the bottom of the pen...the nib that goes into the bottom...and hot glue my flowers into the bottom, roll the floral tape and may add a few leaves into the flower/floral tape.
Great video! I make them in a similar way. I usually use the entire length of the pen though, I never even thought about the stem getting in the way. They work great as centerpieces that guests can take at Bridal Showers and Girl baby showers.

I went all the way down with the tape and got the gunkiness, so the rest of them I only went about an inch down to cover the stem so you can see it, but I thought the funky feel would be an aversion to using them- finally I put a small drip of hot glow to secure the flower on the pen before wrapping and a dab to start the tape and end the tape / thanks for your post.
It is called floral tape. You can find it in the Walmart craft section near the fake flowers, foam pieces/wreathes, etc. Just ask, and the clerks will show you what it is.
ok so i ran to the Dollar store and they have everything you need to do this!!! i'm gonna make some roses for valentines day. and we will be a hit in school cause they had green carnations!!!!! Thanks!!! keep up your awesome ideas!!!!
Thanks for the feedback, though. I really do need to remake some of these older videos in better lighting/setting conditions. This was one of the very first ones I did about six years ago.

I was wondering, What kind of design would we use to make for a Man ? I thought about putting something on the top of the Pen to secure something else like a Dolphin a small plastic Dolphin, If I can find them, Most of my girlfriends would like the Flowers, but one loves Dolphins. I would find some Turquoise feathers & Cut them down to look like waves 🌊. I don't know what other Design I Could use for a Guy Pen. GUNK BE GONE. just wrap the pen using the reverse side of the floral tape! i just made my first pen and had the same problem. so on my second wrap, going upwards i used the other side. WORKS LIKE A CHARM! Thanks
I've only seen them made like towens said, the bulkiness of the stem on the outside of the pen would be annoying, I have one made like that and it seemed amaturish and not finished. JMO.

I wish they made plastic green covers for the pens, & then put the Flowers on. Maybe better than the tape, that I just bought.

When I make mine I use duct tape because personally I think it looks better and more bright and summertime-ish and the come out amazing

I want the plastic stems , Not The tape. I purchased one with the plastic stems & it was much smoother
