  • The third of 4 videos filmed during a workshop held in the Western Cape for secondary school educators. This workshop was called "Demystifying the NBTs" and it sought to explain why the NBTs are used by universities, how learners (nationally and regionally) have performed on the NBTs, and the kind of work learners might face at university and how to prepare them for this.
This video introduces the concept of Quantitative Literacy and addresses some of the concepts with which NBT writers commonly struggle.

So what if you fail your NBT. This does not mean your "stupid".
Just because you you fail your test does not mean you are stupid.
So your plans for the future in changing the world for the better should be delayed because of people think you don't have the mentality for a varsity student, because you don't answer the paper exactly as they want you to.
Why should you do this ?
why not just test the students ON campus when they are studying already ?
What if you have great big plans for the world and are committed to that you want to make a difference - does not mean nothing? So just because you failed your NBT test means you are too stupid to fit in here and worthless- you are rather better off in a college or far beneath that ?
    please answer
or am i just way off ?
because "smart" kids do fail these and are capable of doing so much, without others not knowing nothing.
Just picking and choosing- because the next group of students must act and think a certain way
I don't want to offend anyone
