That's because Older bmw are usually under 10k and since they know the ins and out of BMWs, they know how to take care of them.

@@Mellysgot556 owned F10 M5 F06 650 gc, I still own my c6 zr1 and c7z. Difference is when you get with European brands it’s a lottery on what big money item will break. It’s never a will it break it’s when. 11k timing cover gasket is why I got rid of my 650, the M5 the transmission took a shit. Both my vettes 11 and 17 are manual and virtually give me no problem. I bought a 3rd gen Escalade for a daily best decision I ever made was leaving foreign cars alone

The 7.5 inch intercooler is pretty overkill, maybe has a upgraded Single Turbo setup👀. Would be the most sleeper x3 I’ve ever seen.

I still need to figure out the naming convention on the BMWs.
The chassis codes (E36/E93/E92 etc.) can be a bit confusing. But those are just to denote the generation of the car, whereas the model name denotes the actual model of the car (335i, X3 etc.). For example, an F30 335i can be decoded as: a three series (the 3 in 335i) made between 2012 and 2018 (F30) that has a 6 cylinder engine (35i). These change over the years, but can be learned fairly easily if you spend some time on wikipedia :)

@@blue_lancer_esThats with almost every car manufacturer today. Audi used to write the displacement on the back of their cars. Now they imitate that with numbers like 30 and 40 for the different engines. Thats because you get the same power out of less displacement on modern engines. So its just done so that people dont judge the cars by their displacement anymore.

A manual e92 with an n54 is a modern 2j you just have to keep up on maintenance. Still tens of thousands cheaper than a good condition supra. Or even a clapped out supra.

At least these guys actually drive what they work on (mostly). There was a similar video at a Mercedes dealership/service center and almost no one who worked there actually drove a Mercedes 😅

When you get the parts for dirt cheap and you can do your own labor. Ask them what they would drive if they didn’t work there and had to pay regular price for parts.
They are technicians…they work for bmw….they can fix any issues on their bmws….at least attempt to make a funny comment.

I did not know people who worked on BMW were this stupid. When I drive by the parking of my local BMW dealer I do not see any BMW in the blue-collar area.

It's more descriptive than the year. If I tell you 2008 335i, you don't know if it's a coupe, sedan or convertible. If I say E90 335i, you know it's a sedan :)

The reason why they all drive BMWs and don’t have any issues is because they’re technicians who work at BMW had it been a normal person there’s no way somebody of these cars are still on the road.
Yeah I own 3 Benz and I’m a Benz master tech, I paid like 1500 total in parts across 3 cars in 5 years, that includes filter and brakes and tires and everything you can name

The smartest guy at my local BMW dealer would answer....I took the bus. I see him on weekends sometimes rollin out in a '98 Lexus LS400....never winter driven...he told me he would never buy a new BMW....ever.

My garage has a E34 for Autocross with a S54. 2002 E39 Wagon building a S62 with a Dinan Supercharger, Ohlins Suspension
Surprised these guys enjoy driving toilets after working on them all day ... Bavarian Manure Wagons took a nose dive after the year 2000 .. I guess i shouldn't complain they certainly help put food on the table ...but if someone gave me one I would pry sell it the next day

had that e92 335 in silver, got rid of it after the 4th friggin water pump went up in it. f that car!!! (was GREAT to drive tho when it did work properly)
The real questions you need to be asking them is how to view service manuals on any BMW…they wipe them from the web.

Bmw techs here in Illinois, are all driving BMWs its a cult following forreal, when they drive Bimmers, they are way more intuned with how to service my car. Or at least what I've noticed
When BMW drivers answer this question with more than 1 digit and maybe an M, I stop the conversation right there. It's like mothers stating their babies age in months.

The pattern here is all but one know the 6 cylinder engines are bmw's finest. Anything 4 pot is not a true bmw.
