If Flower Trick will not be a fast move that generates energy faster than Leafage, comm day Meowscarada is probably not gonna be that good in GBL. It has Leafage, which generates energy more slowly than Vine Whip. With Leafage, it takes 7 attacks to reach Frenzy Plant-unlike Vine Whip, which takes 6. Unfortunately, this makes Meowscarada quite bait-dependent with its Night Slash, meaning that it will probably rank lower than Serperior and Venusaur.
I think this is true for all the Gen 8-9 starters minus Skeledirge. Their signature moves should all be fast moves getting the Water Shuriken treatment. They’re all too frail for anything else. Looking forward to Meowscarada & especially Rillaboom (2026 I guess) but full grass sets on either would be a waste
He kinda hyped it in the video but honestly I think it’s DOA. Too glassy and with a mediocre typing and moveset. I can’t think of a single reason to use it over Shiftry, who has more bulk and a better moveset and is still irrelevant even then. They should’ve gave all the starters unique fast moves like Water Shuriken instead of literally useless charge moves like Sparkling Aria and Flower Trick.
i think its likely all 3 paldea starters' exclusive move will be clones of each other since they all translate into attack buffs in go. if anything, they could have skeledirge's a bit worse than the others funnily enough, since it is already a pretty strong mon, while the other 2 are pretty bad

How did they go from understanring that Water Shruiken should be a fast move for Greninja but then make Aria S. a worse Hydro Cannon for Primarina. Unless Flower Trick is a better Frenzy Plant, I can't imagine it doing anything to help Meowscarda.
Dachsbun (and esp future Shadow Dachsbun) looks pretty crazy in the 2s. Can basically force switch on anything that isn’t Poison, Fire or Steel. Even Jumpluff has to bait the AA twice and land an Energy Ball to win the 2s, which is unlikely.
