My plaiting technique is very simular to yours Nick. I do the same holding with the finger. I like it as it's a lot less movement involved than reaching all the way around the back as many do. And yes, interviews would be great to hear more of.
In EU, I can only get Blue and Black Whipmaker's Cord unfortunately. Seeing that, I wish I could get my hands on a nice Brown or Tan, maybe Sand paracord. Somehow I feel like 24 Plait whip with whipmaker's cord would be a good startingpoint for the next whip ;D Love the content, as usual. Really beatiful work, very nice whip - also as usual. ^^ Take care.
Hi Nick. I enjoy all the videos you make and share on whip making. I learned from your videos to maks my first whip. I have a silly question. You said that the whip paracord is slippery... Have you ever tried to do a 16strand whip with normal ski rope (the ones that is multi color blue and white that you buy from a hardware store.)? I enjoy the art of whip making its a dying art here in Namibia.
Great video, Nick! As I once told you, I use pins and stab them in as required. This helps me keep things under control and maintains perfect tension as a beginner. Cheers! Hello to Tipper😃👍
As Nick has shown, the surface friction is very low using Whip Maker’s Cord. If one uses a stick pin to hold a tension and position exactly as one needs, one can drop strands and continue until enough strands are plaited. The pins do not damage anything and stab directly inwards easily. The advantage of doing this is that for a beginner who cannot maintain exact tension, one can “cheat” and place strands very precisely and when tension over time had been gained, one can remove the pins and have perfect tension and symmetry many rows after the drop etc. I also use a steel ruler to make sure I have perfect symmetry on all crossed joints of cord…I know this is overkill but it works for me and I am doing it for fun and not time limited….hope this helps! Nick is a talented pro so always take his advice over me as a Noob…
Nick! BoredParacord offers 1-3mm leather now. Do you reckon a leather whip tutorial might be possible to make soon? I'd love to buy from your supplier but they don't ship to The Philippines.
Just a couple of questions With whipmaker’s cord being a lot thinner should you cut strand lengths longer? Do you use whipmaker’s cord on the bellies or just the overlay?
So is whipmakers cord a tube aka pre gutted parachord or is it flat braided tape. Personally I’ve been looking for flat tape that suitable rather than gutted tubes. My preference as always Nick is for Dacron still can’t find any I really like. Any ideas?
Hello nick I really do want to get started with whip making but do not have the necessary materials to do so and we aren't rich enough to be able to buy the necessary materials so I would be grateful if you could gift me some materials
This is so relaxing to watch. I should give whipmaking a try. Thanks for the videos and tutorials!

Can you elaborate for me? I've made about 15 whips and have only been happy with 3 or 4 of them

Hi Nick,
Because whip maker's cord is so thin, must it only be used for 24-plait? Is a 16-plait whip feasible with whip maker's cord?

Привет мой друг! Я из России, ты научил меня как плести кнут, хотя я не понимаю ни слова твоего языка. Спасибо))
