You are quite right. It was inspired by the movie, the choreography, concept, the storyline, all about it actually but they added some elements like the girls being dolls or being controlled like puppets. BTW, their choreographer Hwang Soo Yeon confirmed it! ^^

Well, well, well. Hi there! Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. One commenter noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That commenter is Jad Hamizan and he deserves all the credit for noticing that. The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even include the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your expression is blue, blue. Your face is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Jeff being 100% confused about DC is one of my fave things XD I really need Jeff to react to some of their intro dances, SuA's dance covers (yes, all of them), and Piri and Scream especially. Also, I haven't seen this mentioned before, but Siyeon was NOT a dancer before she got on the idol path. In fact, when they told her she would have to do intricate choreo, she said something along the lines of, "But I'm a singer!" and girlie is always killing it
