    I love it when your kids pop in and out of your videos. Once they realize other people, like their friends, can see them they may shy away. Enjoy it while it lasts! I like that you do finish off items in your shop so they feel and look nice. It's a good way to advertise the quality of your work if a customer ever comes to your shop. Plus, what better place than your own shop to practice joinery and finishing. I'm reorganizing my shop and this video is full of great ideas!

    Hi! love the content, would like to see more on the CA glue use in the shop. Also, I wanted to mention that heating up zinc plating can be toxic, I know welding it without removing the zinc plating can be dangerous.

    • @rogerj.fugere3570
      @rogerj.fugere3570 3 года назад +1

      I believe galvanize is also toxic. From what I remember the "cure" is drinking whole milk for galvanize. Is this true?

    • @Ch1mpyCh0mpy
      @Ch1mpyCh0mpy 3 года назад

      Inhalation of fumes from heating zinc plating can cause acute metal fume fever. Galvanizing is a process involved in zinc coating. This intoxication can be caused by heating other metals like brass that contain zinc. Drinking milk, although widely practiced and thought to protect against fumes from welding or painting has no proven benefit

    • @Ch1mpyCh0mpy
      @Ch1mpyCh0mpy 3 года назад

      The small amount that Chris may have inhaled is unlikely to cause a problem.

    Just discovered your channel. I also have a french cleat problem and use the harbor freight magnets. My favorite magnet applications are one for bastard drill bits - those that no longer live in an index - and the other for straight saw blades; hacksaw, sawzall, jig saw , bone, etc. You're just a pup, but if you evolve as I have you will eventually embrace the fact that pegboard is a better option for dense arrangement of smaller tools/supplies like those you want near your bench - just start with a chunk of pegboard about twice the size as you think you'll need and hang it from the cleats. (make sure you get the pegboard with the TRUE 1/4" holes) Cheers!

    Don't apologise for your kids running around, before long they will be sullen teens hiding away in their rooms all day. It's great to see them enjoying the sunshine & time with their dad and besides, it makes for a way more interesting intro!
    I'm just starting to convert my shop from having way too many cupboards into having more French cleats so always good to see more ideas. I also have a fixed bench, and having a smaller shop that really doesn't work, as you say, you put things in, then, after some use you swap it around to work better for you. I doubt the process ever ends 🤔
