    Hey Allen! Great returns. I’d prefer to have those authenticated as well. They’ll display really nice.
    And you’re right. The Boudreau auto comes home with all new borns in Illinois.

      I thought that was the case but thanks for confirming. Is Indiana still providing Larry Bird items to newborns?

    Good stuff Allen! I’m like you I don’t care who authenticates my autos as long as they are reputable! Perez Steele post cards are so beautiful and look great autographed!

    Love the Spahn!!! I'm starting to get really interested in the Perez Steeles. I have a large plaque postcard collection, but The Perez postcards add a nice touch of art to it.

      Spahn is one of my favorite autos I have. He isn't very expensive but a great American.
      By the way, have you gotten you Ryan auto back yet?

      @@CollectingMaddux1987 No the Ryan hasn't come back yet. It's been out just shy of a month.

    Not sure why more people don’t collect these. I believe the official name for these postcards are the Perez-Steele Celebration set. Beautiful cards, and they look fantastic signed. Have a few in my collection.

      It confuses me as well. These postcards were made for autographs and display great. My only guess is oversized

      Thanks Mike! Well, I guess I was wrong about the Braves/Pirates series. The Braves are difficult to watch this year because they should be so much better.

    Love these Allen! I hope to find some lower end priced ones at the National. I’ve picked all of mine up already slabbed so far because they seemed like great deals

      You and me both, if you haven't already, you should check out Orlando's from a collectors dream. He has almost the complete set signed. He has shown it off a few times.

    LOVE these Perez-Steeles! They look fantastic in the Beckett slabs!
    I agree with you to an extent - for lower valued HOFers, authentication is often not needed. Guys who signed a TON, like Feller, Gossage, Rose, and Spahn, if it looks as it should, you’re probably fine without authentication.
    However, as you move toward higher tier and higher value HOFers, the financial incentive for forging autographs increases drastically. I’m talking about guys like Nolan Ryan, Mantle, Mays, Jeter, or Bonds (not HOF, but still, the point stands). If I’m looking to acquire autos if guys like these, I would refuse to buy them unless they were authenticated ONLY by one of the big three (BAS, PSA/DNA, JSA) AND looked “as they should”.
    Be careful out there! Great video!

      Ryan is a weird one to me. His foundation costs $75 per auto but then they sell on $2 cards for double that. I have 9 of his autographs but am confused every time

    • @HighPopProfessor
      @HighPopProfessor 3 месяца назад

      Yeah, that’s a little strange for sure. I have been burned with fake Ryans before, twice now. Thankfully, one of them I returned - the ‘99 UD Retro INKredibles auto - the entire card was fake, including the auto. I caught it before it even arrived, so the eBay return was easy. The second one turned out to be an autopen, but it I didn’t lose much on that one, so I consider that small loss the cost of learning a valuable lesson.

    We have the exact same mindset on collecting HOF autos, don't care about authentication company, prefer it in hold for presentation purposes, don't care about grading auto because you can just look at it with your eyes and tell if you like it. No kidding, I could have written this script. Anyway, nice autos too. lol.

    • @CollectingMaddux1987
      @CollectingMaddux1987  3 месяца назад

      Exactly Eddy, presentation is what it is all about. If the auto looks good to me I'm fine with a little bit of streaking

  • @CleanCheapShots
    @CleanCheapShots 3 месяца назад +1

    I am curious; have you ever gotten back a TTM and then tried to authenticate it (slab it) only to have the grading company say it was a fake? I wondered if wives or other family members ever sign them.

      So sportscollectors.net is really good about giving people a heads up. Shaq is someone who has a ghost signer and for a while Alan Trammell had an auto pen. So it does happen but so far not for me
