    Wonderful job Judy. These girls are well cared for and loved; and it shows. I love all animals and I don't like it when people get a pet as a baby and then once it is grown; throw it outside to fend for themselves. Bobby is terrific with the girls and they love him so much. I love how they talk to him; especially Gracie. The face she makes cracks me up!! Thank you for sharing your babies with us! Love to all and stay safe!!

    Thanks for this video, Judy! It has great information in it and I think it’s a very important video 👍! Unfortunately, alot of people don’t do enough research about owning a monkey before getting one and then in the end the monkey suffers. I hope tons of people see this video and your sweet girls and then also see all the rest of your videos 🥰👍

    Your sweet girls are so lucky to have you and Billy as their “parents”. You two have taken such care to learn about how to take care of them and to understand their traits and personalities. I’m so glad that you brought up the subject of what would happen to them if something (sadly) would happen to you, and that you (and Billy) have plans in place. I think this is one of the most important things that should be considered before someone decides to get a monkey. If a backup plan isn’t possible, then I don’t think it’s fair to bring one of these beautiful animals into your life because they might end up in a sanctuary. Thank you for trying to educate everyone on the responsibilities of monkey ownership....there aren’t very many out there like you!!

    The girls are so very blessed to have you, Billy, and your boys (and extended family) as their family. They truly have the best of both worlds- fresh food, trees to exercise in, and enrichment as if they were in the wild. But they also have the love and devotion that comes only with humans (and they know this!) They really do understand that you are not a monkey and yet, as you said, you are the alphas (you and Billy) of their troupe. One thing is for certain- after watching your channel, I have learned a lot and I also realize that I could never "own" a monkey, because it *is* a full time "job" (labor of love, rather). Since I have a special needs daughter (as you know!) I can only really devote myself to her- but oh how I love watching your family and feeling the love that comes from your family. So thankful that you have chosen to share your journeys with us! God bless!

    Very nice video. I do have a few questions though.
    1. Is one breed more calm/mellow than another or do all breeds act pretty much the same just in different colors?
    2. Do they throw the jolting dramatic tantrums that Macaques do, especially as babies?
    3. Do they lip smack to try to communicate with you? I believe I saw them in another video trying to with Bob so it looks like they might.
    4. Do all breeds of Capuchin Monkey get to be the exact same size?

    • @monkeygracie572
      @monkeygracie572  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! 1. As far as the two different breeds we have I can tell you the White-Faced (Lillian) is more social with humans than our two Cinnamon girls. The Cinnamon girls will drop everything to come to us where Lillian will sometimes take her time, lol. It may be that Lillian is almost six years old and Ava is 1 1/2 and Gracie is 2 years old but Lillian is calmer than the two babies. All three of the girls are different. Ava (the baby) is really laid back. Gracie (the middle girl) is VERY active and super humorous. Lillian is incredibly smart and likes to think things through. 2. No, the girls are pretty even tempered. At times they will get upset but we resolve it pretty quickly by understanding what they are upset about. 3. The two little girls do lip smack. Most of the time when they are unsure about someone. The will even lip smack my son when he comes to visit, until he pets them and talks to them. Lillian has NEVER lip smacked (that I remember). I always found it strange that she doesn't lip smack like all the other monkeys I have seen but she just never has. 4. I do believe as a rule most Capuchins are about the same size. The breeder told us that the Cinnamon girls will probably be a little bigger than Lillian so we will see. The vet told us that the White-Faced Capuchins are more active than Black Caps and would probably stay thinner than the Black Caps. We have not spayed our girls so that is another reason monkeys that are fixed can get a little chubby. I hope I answered your questions. Have an awesome day!

    I heard the brown Capuchins like Boo and Georgie Boy have a smell to them...and the ones you have dont. Is that true? I was watching an old monkeyboo vid when Pete was at the Care foundation and the lady working there mentioned the smell between the different kinds they had. I wonder if its bec they live outside there?

      The owner (Tom Gunderson) of Crystal the monkey who is also a black cap like Boo answered the question in one of his interviews. Crystal is a female like my girls so I don't know if maybe the boys do have an odor. That's a good question. Crystal is the monkey that played on "Night at the Museum" and many other movies. Here is the link if you would like to watch the interview. The place where he talks about her having virtually no odor to her is around the 3:19 mark. ruclips.net/video/iaG7L_SEGxA/видео.html

      @@monkeygracie572 Aww, I have wondered if Lillian is a little cuddle bug! It does seem like she is really close to you. When my kids were little me and my youngest son (who is 32 now) always wanted a pet monkey. When I watch your show I realize that at my age (I’m 60) a cute monkey would wear me out!

      We have 3 monkeys. They are a part of our family. The other comment you left asked if we plan on keeping them past 2 or 3 years old so Lillian being almost 6 years old now says we do, lol. Lillian hit puberty when she was 3 years old. She is a very good girl and we love her and her two sisters more now than we ever knew we could. They will never be abandoned by us...NEVER!!!! Many of my videos address that question you had.
