You do need to play Xenoblade 1 and Xenoblade 2 though, the only reason you wouldn't is if you refuse to buy the dlc til after playing Xenoblade 1 and
Xenoblade 2, because the fact is, Future Redeemed spoils the entirety of Xenoblade 1 and Xenoblade 2's story cutscenes in its credits along with Xenoblade 3's.
Other than that I agree with the rest of your points, but that I disagree with because that would mean they'd be spoiled on the other 2 games before playing them if they played Future Redeemed.
So in this case its the devs' fault for making future redeemed in that way, even if its a tribute to the entire trilogy.
One thing I will say is Xenoblade 3 was a disappointment to me compared to
Xenoblade 2 and Torna in some ways.
1.Not enough world building and lore.
      2.Too many unanswered questions.
3.Hate new aggro system and how there aren't perm aggro buffs and debuffs.
4.Hate the new gear system and how the effects aren't perm or as cool with build making.
5.Hate the new class system and the way leveling it works.
6.Hate how tanky bosses are compared to in Xenoblade 2 where you could speedrun bosses with chain attacks and solo bosses.
      7. Hate how chain attacks work based on attack and RNG to extend the chain and hate the chain attack music playing all the time.
8.Hate that healers are the only ones that can revive party members now unless you waste a gear slot.
9.Hate how the main fun build people play is the sword of the end build instead of the fun builds in Xenoblade 2.
10.Hate the lack of quality of life changes from updates and dlc that Xenoblade 2 had.
11.Hate the lack of dlc content that Xenoblade 2 had.
      12.Hate the endgame grind.
      13. Hate the non voiced campfires instead of the emotional voiced heart to hearts from Xenoblade 2.
      14. and overall I just felt Xenoblade 2 had more heart put into it.

XC3 is far ahead of what XC2 was at when we align the sales of the two titles. XC2 maintained it's legs for a large variety of reasons, including but not limited too it's long update cycle, it's DLC, and Pyra and Mythra making it into super smash bros. That's in addition to the discourse ironically serving to keep the game consistently relevant. XC3 didn't have as many updates, it's DLC was big but not a separate boxed release, and obviously Noah and Mio can't get into smash bros currently. That's in addition to the title being far less comparatively controversial to it's immediate predecessor.
1.9 Million sales after a bit over a year is fantastic when you compare that to XC2 which was somewhere around 1.4 at the same time. It shows that many of the people who got into the series with 2 stuck around for Definitive Edition and then later 3, and were excited to pick up 3 early. 3 Could still very well catch 2 later if we do get into the next smash game. But even if we don't, this is still a strong result. Consider the following, when XC2's sale were reported as being 1.7 million, Tetsuya Takahashi went out of his way to say that the sales for the game considerably exceeded the expectations placed on it. So from that we know they keep the sales expectations in check for these games. I think it's fair to say that 3 likely met or is around what Monolith Soft wanted the title to do. So we are far from being in hot water like some bad actors in the community would suggest.

I’d argue a big factor was 2 releasing in the Switch’s launch year. In addition to a lack of JRPG competition, there just straight up weren’t many games on the Switch yet. COVID might have helped to give the game legs, or maybe having the Aegis in Smash.

3:00 Wait, XB2 is outselling 3 every quarter even today? That surprises me since 2 is physically out of print, so you'd think 3 would be the better seller now.
Speaking of which one thing that would boost 2's total sales is if a "Nintendo Selects" line starts soon, since we're at the end of the Switch's life. XB2 (and DE) are great candidates for Selects.

When (Jehovah) God and a prophet of God is literally the epic center of the plot, people unconsciously want it because they are programed to worship him.
XB1 and XB3 hates him, mocks him, kills him, and literally abuses his divine artifacts to mess with reality against his will as a “positive”.
So duh, God will let 2 thrive and make the other two drop. If it gets him another son, he will.

Is 2 million a flop for a less storied franchise in a more obscure genre that is console exclusive? I was kinda hoping Flute Guy could give it a sales boost. But for real. Go look at the combined sales of entire franchises like Star Ocean and Tales of all-time. XC3 and XC2 alone have basically matched the all-time sales of the Star Ocean franchise. If your name isn’t Dragon Quest, Pokemon, or Persona now, it’s tough sledding for jrpgs.

Also a thing people overlook is that Xenoblade 3 is the fastest selling game by far. Its easy to say that "Xenoblade 2 is selling better" its not, but theres a very high chance that Xenoblade 3 will end it run with 2.5 million sales, and thats still not including the DLC sales, Xenoblade 3 is selling fine

Even its legs are basically the same as 2. Don't overthink that it only sold 70k in a single quarter after 1.7 million was sold at launch. Because if you total that together on average, that means Xenoblade 3 is likely to sell at least 230k sales a year, which is even more than 2's yearly sales.
Xenoblade 3 may not outsell 2 because of it being launched towards the end of the Switches life, but Xenoblade 3 will be the 2nd best selling Xenoblade game, and potentially could even surpass 2 best case scenario

Xenoblade 3 pretty much hasnt flopped considering its sales have been pretty much on par with DE.
The game had good public reception, and FR helped give the game a bit of a boost. It wont match the sales of 2, but 2 got really lucky with sales.
2 came out early on during a nintendo console's life, which is pretty rare considering 1 and 3 came out a good ways into their respective console's life. This was also combined with a lack of high profile games on the Switch at the time, especially because of the lull in content post Odyssey and BoTW. A lot of people hate to admit this part, but 2's sales were also partly boosted by Pyra and Mythra's "assets". It wasnt the sole reason, but 1 and 3 had substantially less in your face fanservice.
My point with all this is that Xenoblade overall has sold pretty damn well. 2 sold a lot more for obvious reasons, but 1 and 3 sold reasonably well.

I don't have free time to play these 200hour epics that take hours just to walk across a map 😂
It's why I stopped playing genshin impact, there's no reason the desert should take 4 hours to walk from 1 side to the other
These games aren't for children, can a child enjoy them- sure, but xenoblade is a more mature deep franchise with themes of existence, loss, sacrifice, love, bonds exc
Persona is a great example of a series to compare to, due to the lack of a open world you can play it in bite size chunks and not dedicate a whole day or night to playing it, an hour here an hour there.
Xeno games I burn 4-8hours in a single play session just to get to a decent stopping point.

It's interesting to see that there's some bad comments about XC3 and thise people prefered xc2 way better. I'm not one of thoses comments since xc3 might be my favourite and xc2 is the one I have a lot of problems with. But it made me wonder what's the true reality of xc3 appreciation🤔
Personally, I played Xc1 on the Wii and wasn't interested at all in xc2 when it came out because it felt way too different and I didn't have a switch yet. When xc3 came out, I decided to give it a chance but I was ready to hate it. In the end I became really emotionally attached to itand when Future Redeemed was announced, I decided to finally buy xc2. But despite finding the story and world building amazing, the gameplay was really painful. Despite having already played Xc1 and xc3, xc2 made me struggle the most, as if it was a totally different game with the tone, the gacha system, the humour, all the quest that you had to complete before, the bad map system that you don't have to fill yourself, the non practical menu. It felt so weird that xc1 and xc3 were so similar, while xc2 is unique. I expected xc2 to be better than xc1 wii and less good than xc3. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it has a lot of great and incredibles qualities but in the trilogy, I think it does stand out a lot from the 2 others games
