My boy Jake knows that when you shoot in 60 fps, and edit in 24fps, you get some crispy slow motion shots. I'm proud. Love the vlogs man, glad you're back!
You simply amaze me Jake. Your videos Just get better and better. I am proud of your accomplishments. Its good to have Jake back. Thanks for sharing this journey and take care.
Yep, the dunes are huge, only dwarfed by the mountains that surround them. Medano Pass is a great trail, pretty scenic with lots of dispersed camping along the way. I've done that trail so many times in my 2001 Tundra that I've lost count. If you get a chance spend a night camping there, the stars are beautiful at night. Happy Trails!
I just binged watched a butt load of your videos. Man I love them! Truly inspiring, living a minimalist lifestyle. Glad I found an original creator. Keep it up Jake 👍🏽
Its just amazing how much effort you put into your videos..you truely deserve ten times more subs man.. keep it up! Stumbled into your channel few days ago and i have watched majority of videos for now and still going strong!
Wow!!! Those dunes were huge! I strive to learn at least one new thing daily. Today you educated me on these dunes, never knew they existed. Another awesome adventure in the books for you, so cool. And did I mention how thrilled we are to have you back? 😃 Have a great weekend!!!
Hey Jake, I'm so happy you're back in the swing of things. You look like you're having one heck of a time. Watching your adventures always puts me in a happy place. One of these days I'll get something with 4WD and hopefully have the same feeling that you do. Thanks for sharing a window into your life!
Don't know if you've left the area yet, but if you head down 150(road leaving the sand dunes going south) from the Sand Dunes past the Zapata falls, there is a cool little primitive camping spot in the middle of a ranch with cattle roaming around. We camped out there about three months back.
I always look forward to your videos man. They're just so pleasing to watch, I could sit here and watch them all day. Keep it up Jake, I love the content.
I was there in August. Its the only video I've uploaded. The highest water crossing was the last one on my trip, first one on yours! I now have a 3" lift because that was a little sketchy.
I had the same issue with my Mavic Pro losing connection to aircraft when ever I got into areas that had poor cell coverage.. Started putting into airplane mode when flying and have not had an issue since.
Great video... Did that trail many years ago... The water crossings are especially deep in spring... if you get a chance to go to Keystone Arapahoe Basin area check out Deer Creek and Saints John trails.. I know that is your driver so take it easy and you should be fine...
Love the videos. The editing is so awesome with the drone chase footage and stuff. Definitely not the most extreme off-road but one of the most fun off-road videos to watch. What year is your jeep btw
To help with the oil leaking and burning use a additive called AT-205 Reseal. I’m a auto tech and have seen that stuff permanently seal real main seals and recondition valve seals and no more leaks or oil smoke. I’ve used it in leaking hydraulic systems including leaking floor jacks. Nobody carries it on the shelf but Napa or Carquest can get it. Great luck on your journey!
iamjake I’ve rebuilt many 4.0 Liters and 2.5s. They are the easiest engines to rebuild the top end on. Can be done with hand tools and in 5 hours or so. If bottom end aka rings are good (do a wet dry compression test) record compression #s then do a wet test. Pour a lil oil in each Cly one at a time and see if compression goes up to spec on lower compression cylinders. If it goes up then rings are sticky or worn. If not then its valves leaking and then get a reman head from any automotive machine shop. Should cost around $300 with core then get a head gasket kit. Also get new hydraulic lifters they are cheap and can be removed with a magnet. If rings are good then jade would be like a new Jeep with a new head. Look up with casting makes the most power. Some are better than others. You could easily have it done in a weekend for under $450 if you do the job yourself. Good luck
iamjake looking forward to it! I hope to upgrade my wrangler to be able to live in and do a fifty state road trip like you and document it, I still have a couple years before I can drive on my own and I still need a job, my wrangler(Missy) is still stock. She is a 1991 wrangler.
Well crap I thought it was just a built up cj , makes sense now seeing it but ima tj guy in and out. Keep up the work jake this video was second to non and with just you filming I'm astonished. Best of luck !
I have the same "Aircraft disconnected" problems. Oddly enough if I use an apple lighting cable from the USB on the bottom of the controller to the phone it works better. Clunky but works.
Great vid! Glad you are back, and my condolences to you for your dad. The end scenes came out good. Few questions. Did he bust the bead on the tire or get a puncture? Why did you guys not use the stock bottle jack or your hilift to change it? The stock bottle jack on the TJ will lift up to a 35 tire enough to change it. No criticism just questions.
YO Jake! We are on our way back from our overland Mexico and Central America over the last year and a half. We will cross over the boarder in Arizona. If you think you'll be in the South West states it would be cool to meet up!!!???
Glad to see you back Jake. Quick question, how do you do the aerial shots with the drone while you’re driving? Does it have a point and follow feature?
That is some beautiful country out there. Ha, those drones can get a little finicky sometimes. Love your videos man. Always looking forward to seeing them.
Hey Jake, I'm living in my Ranger. I was wondering if you wanted to meet up and do some offroading for a day or two? I'm currently in southern Wyoming heading to Medicine-Bow today

Jennifer M - Thank you!
Looked like a great trail bro. Had no idea Colorado had sand dunes like that! Pretty crazy and great video.
I just ran that trail last month, absolutely beautiful trail. Looks like the water crossing has actually gone down some. Great vid!
Drew Mercer - Thank you!
Heeeey Jake! Awesome vlog. Really nice trail, jeeps, dogs, panorama, everything! Keep it up and have lots of fun

Rick & Zack Explore Offroad - Thank you for the suggestion!
Have you made it to the Crystal Mill in Colorado? Definitely check that out! You'd enjoy the jeep trail to get to it.
Chris Romero, that is a great trail, I love it!
Back to my normal after work routine of watching jakes videos when I'm off
You might want to consider rebuilding the engine before it blows up out on the trail somewhere.... Cheaper and easier to do it now.
mobiltec i agree you might be into it 1200 to 1400 for a rebuild but the peace of mind is worth it .
Great video... Did that trail many years ago... The water crossings are especially deep in spring... if you get a chance to go to Keystone Arapahoe Basin area check out Deer Creek and Saints John trails..

Loved the Scenary, the gun play, the music and the tire change! Great vid brother!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely look into it, Jade isn't doing so hot.

Great video Jake, have you considered having a snorkel fitted to your Jeep? Not only for the odd water crossing but better cooler airflow.
Long time fan and I can never remember, what kind of jeep is jade? She looks like a yj with a cj front end?
Chasing the sun outdoors - Jade is a 1994 YJ with CJ front clip, hard top, and tailgate. Thank you for your support! Thank you for your support!
