I'm definitely moving in that direction as well. Tradovate keeps having weird glitches, my DOM keeps freezing,... this has happened in the middle of a trade several times...I have to go to a different instrument then go back, it'll just freeze, let alone it actually going down for no reason at all really several times in the past couple weeks whereas none of my other brokerages have had outages like that (TD Ameritrade TOS, and IBKR). My first futures broker... And it's like this. I'm pulling money off and gonna go somewhere else as well. Idk where else, but probably not ninja. Not gonna be trading futures in the brokerage I trade options on because it's too expensive, margin requirements are too high for me. I think Ninja trader is screwing things up pretty badly. It sucks. Part of me feels like maybe holding on a bit longer as they might get better, but tbh idk.
@@ultraiam I'm considering it man, nothing set in stone. Tradovate was fine today, my DOM didn't even lock up but I only traded for like 45 min, 2 trades and was done. I'm gonna stick around a little longer. I'm actually testing out lightspeed for options trading right now so I kindof have my hands full with new brokerage stuff. I'll give tradovate another week, this kind of stuff can't happen that often, maybe once or twice a year ok i get it, multiple times in a month is unsat. they are discount broker but come on we pay for data, our data we pay for going down that often isn't cool regardless of it being discount.
Thank you for your candid review. Tradovate continues to go down - they increased their commissions by $1 per transaction, that is a 63% increase, then they raised their margin requirements by 4X on IRA accounts WITHOUT ANY PRIOR NOTICE!! I am leaving Tradovate too.

NT ran flawlessly during these Tradovate episodes because NT runs on my machine. I have always tried to stay away from web based or cloud based trading platforms as sooner or later it will let you down. 1. There are security and privacy issues inherent to cloud based platforms. 2. There will always be some form of latency issue with a cloud based platform. 3. Probably the biggest reason to stay away from cloud based trading platforms is that when a big news event occurs, the servers just cannot handle the increase in internet traffic for data as well as the increase in client requests. Sooner or later cloud based platforms will bite you.
I agree, I use NinjaTrader8 and I love it. It's fantastic. The 3rd party add ons and the eco system are insane. I also use my ninja trader live account through tradovate if I need to use Trading View.
Your computer is less reliable. If your computer crash in the middle of a trade your screwed. You can't hop on your phone and finish the trade. NT sucks period.

If you like Sierra, you'll love ATAS. It's not cheap but way more professional en extremely reliable and lighting fast order flow data handling ( with some tweaks!) Plus the amount of volume and order data indicators is unique. Sierra is oke, but the code a mess and something from the 1990'
What I like most about Tradovate is entering an order on the chart is so easy, just two left clicks of the mouse. It is super easy on the mobile app too. I haven't seen other platforms with such simple order entry on the chart. Have you?
I was stuck in that crash/outage/whatever they wanna call it and I thankfully had a sell order it that was executed but I only found that out AFTER I was able to access my account after the outage. I am STRONGLY considering leaving Tradovate.
I was one who lost due to being down for 2hrs, closed my account that afternoon.. We mentioned it week before on stream anytime there integration between two it's never the same , always for the worse.
Schwab x TD Ameritrade has been pretty smooth. But I don't trade futures on TOS, but so far it's been ok, no new problems yet and they've been at this merger for a while. Tradovate and Ninja are small, and they are having issues + implementing things that are unbecoming of a discount futures broker. The 50 a month for some order flow stuff is pretty wack imo... For tradovate.

Order flow is for level 2 data (bid/ask), delta div. and more, not just VWAP. A person in NOT paying $59.00 a month for VWAP. Come on man, dont deceive the public like that. I agree with most of your video with exception noted.
Not deceiving, I showed exactly what was included. But to have to pay $59/month to see VWAP is insane and you know it. Especially when their live service has been terrible.
I will stick with Ninja trader and tradovate. Good info though, I am using tradovate through trading view and have not experienced much problems except for this week obviously. My rithmic accounta that I setup through ninja trader worked flawlessly this week. Wont be premature in leaving, going to ride out the transition.

At least don't make the mistake of buying the license. Alot of brokers are not using ninjatrader license for a reason. You will get stuck with a platform if you go independent from "funded brokers"

If there is another platform that has the refresh rate of Tradovate - I’m in. If not ? It’s life and death on NQ . When I have trading view in the background and see my trades mirrored on trading view it’s like the entry location would have been impossible to see on trading view and ninja . It’s like I see the buy and sell happening after the fact that trading view gets there , it’s a good 1/4 second slower and the refresh frame rate is like 3fps … Tradovate is like 15fps When you’re reading the algorithm and you get more feedback you also get more opportunities for exiting and entering . Thankfully I don’t need vwap I use a mostly naked chart and draw out everything I need to know , maybe a fair value gap indicator I see on another chart …I only have an EMa or two which are like training wheels tbh So if Sierra has that super fast refresh frames per second or the other quant tower , I might be interested to try . I appreciate your candor and one has to weigh the reasons they use anything . For me the proof was the win rate and win amount comparatively . I mean really different . Some people can’t drive a ____ others love the ___ so in the end it’s the tool that makes you the most money . If it were to cost me x amount more , and I couldn’t make it up easily x 10 and not care then we got a problem . Now about the outage stuff : that was absolutely horrible and I had both Tradovate and ninja at the time . And on the easiest day of the last month yesterday mysteriously tons of new accounts couldn’t get their resets and accounts running through apex and Tradovate . That kind of unreliability is unacceptable . I’ll be watching closely for any more cracks in the structure and will report to all that I know if I see that kind of stuff happen again . This is what I was worried about...I couldn't connect to ANYTHING with the ninja platform. Therefore, I went with tradovate...now, they own tradovate! Ninja is notoriously known for charging you for everything in the past. Their platform alone was over $1,000/month years ago. Greedy 🤬
Well if you or Theotrade futures room member which is a monthly fee. You only have to spend $1.04 for buying and selling on micros. Only do my girls now not sure what the mini charges. Well worth it though not learning a new platform at this point.

Yeah I missed this but it isn't too late I realized late that vwap and such are no longer free and I without even using my newly funded account ran into various issues with things not loading which means I'm now thanks to seeing this pulling all funds

I see massive latency with the Tradovate client and none on the web version.

Almost all platforms have some form of chart trading that is a point and click solution. Quantower and Sierra both have this.

jeeees, sierra chart is the way to go! Much harder to set up but really reliable and very customizable

Tradovate/ NT is not reliable anymore considering two crashes in as many weeks.

For the market data subscription, most of these are around 122$/month (Example Cme ) . But I see old comments from people online saying they subscribed for 3$ . Did they really up the prices that much ? Is it even worth it ?
It's cheaper if you're an amateur. If you go through your broker then you can get the cheaper amateur rates.

i shit you not, the only reason i was gonna go for Tradovate was that you were using it. Now, i completely change my mind, but there is one thing i don't understand. I thought you just set up the platform and fund it with your money and trade? Do i have to go through a separate brokerage and then sign up with a separate trading platform? Or i could just set up a trading platform of my choosing and just fund it and start trading? Sorry im new to futures trading, i've been doing options for 2 years, now i'm transitioning to futures. Pleas let me know. Thank you
