I'm in the same boat. I have been with Tradovate for years and now leaving because of the Ninja Trader acquisition effects. Rock on Man I started researching Edge Clear as well!

So from what I’ve gathered:
Brokers: AMP and Edgeclear
Platforms: Quantower and Sierra Charts
Need 1 broker and 1 trading platform
Unlike Tradovate that was a broker that had its own trading platform. Anything im missing? (6 months trading)

Hey man. Just saw your channel. Good stuff. What do you think about Rithmic on Sierra, because that's the main data feed from Edge Clear? Or are you using different data. On Sierra chart there are warnings about Rithmic data always having troubles.

But by using Quantower or Sierra with topstep, the broker are both Ninja trader, is it ok?

Anyone have any thoughts on Tradestation? Margin rates look decent and from what I’ve read the execution speed is top notch. They also don’t charge for data.
Does EdgeClear have server side stops on futures? Or are they client side? If you lose internet connection or your computer goes down you could blow your whole account up.
Doesn't topstep include data and everything for trading tradovate on tradingview?

What I like most about Tradovate is entering an order on the chart is so easy, just two left clicks of the mouse. It is super easy on the mobile app too. I haven't seen other platforms with such simple order entry on the chart. Have you?
Almost all platforms have some form of chart trading that is a point and click solution. Quantower and Sierra both have this.
Tradestation has it also...
Is Ironbeam any good. I need to use them because they have MT5 platform and I want to enter the World Cup.

honest question, doesn't that mean that tradovate could fix the issue and come out better on the other side? Rythmic has had similar issues in the past and lots of traders still use it their feed. I know because it happened when I was with Edge Clear. using their version of Motive Wave
Also if i don't use VWAP, VP, DOM, delta I don't need to subscribe to the plan, right?

Thank you for your candid review. Tradovate continues to go down - they increased their commissions by $1 per transaction, that is a 63% increase, then they raised their margin requirements by 4X on IRA accounts WITHOUT ANY PRIOR NOTICE!! I am leaving Tradovate too.

Scheduling videos for end of stream is such a clever way to get those initial 1000 views for CTR measurement.
this video is old but the fee is not just vwap, order flow, look at the commissions for micros .09. I use TOS for charting anyway. use the cloudbased Tradovate DOM for executions on prop firm trading.
jeeees, sierra chart is the way to go! Much harder to set up but really reliable and very customizable

Tradingview is just a front end platform
If you like Sierra, you'll love ATAS. It's not cheap but way more professional en extremely reliable and lighting fast order flow data handling ( with some tweaks!) Plus the amount of volume and order data indicators is unique. Sierra is oke, but the code a mess and something from the 1990'
I'm definitely moving in that direction as well. Tradovate keeps having weird glitches, my DOM keeps freezing,... this has happened in the middle of a trade several times...I have to go to a different instrument then go back, it'll just freeze, let alone it actually going down for no reason at all really several times in the past couple weeks whereas none of my other brokerages have had outages like that (TD Ameritrade TOS, and IBKR). My first futures broker... And it's like this. I'm pulling money off and gonna go somewhere else as well. Idk where else, but probably not ninja. Not gonna be trading futures in the brokerage I trade options on because it's too expensive, margin requirements are too high for me. I think Ninja trader is screwing things up pretty badly. It sucks. Part of me feels like maybe holding on a bit longer as they might get better, but tbh idk.
Plenty of other good options out there.

@@ultraiam I'm considering it man, nothing set in stone. Tradovate was fine today, my DOM didn't even lock up but I only traded for like 45 min, 2 trades and was done. I'm gonna stick around a little longer. I'm actually testing out lightspeed for options trading right now so I kindof have my hands full with new brokerage stuff. I'll give tradovate another week, this kind of stuff can't happen that often, maybe once or twice a year ok i get it, multiple times in a month is unsat. they are discount broker but come on we pay for data, our data we pay for going down that often isn't cool regardless of it being discount.

For some reason, I've never really considered using Tradovate, but thanks for the review.
I was stuck in that crash/outage/whatever they wanna call it and I thankfully had a sell order it that was executed but I only found that out AFTER I was able to access my account after the outage. I am STRONGLY considering leaving Tradovate.

IT DEPENDS. I made $6k today in an hour but I normally shoot for $500 a day. You can also lose hundreds or all more or all of your account in seconds.
Yep, this happened to me with Tradeovate . I lost a few thousand dollars about a couple months ago after a service failure.

i shit you not, the only reason i was gonna go for Tradovate was that you were using it. Now, i completely change my mind, but there is one thing i don't understand. I thought you just set up the platform and fund it with your money and trade? Do i have to go through a separate brokerage and then sign up with a separate trading platform? Or i could just set up a trading platform of my choosing and just fund it and start trading? Sorry im new to futures trading, i've been doing options for 2 years, now i'm transitioning to futures. Pleas let me know. Thank you

They are different things. Edge clear for personal account
set your max drawdown and NT will close all positions and lock your account for the day

This is sad. I’m stubborn to leave tradovate because I’ve already learned the platform on how to trade on it. It’s goin to be a pain in the ass to learn a whole new system. Depressing this shit had to happen.
NT ran flawlessly during these Tradovate episodes because NT runs on my machine. I have always tried to stay away from web based or cloud based trading platforms as sooner or later it will let you down. 1. There are security and privacy issues inherent to cloud based platforms. 2. There will always be some form of latency issue with a cloud based platform. 3. Probably the biggest reason to stay away from cloud based trading platforms is that when a big news event occurs, the servers just cannot handle the increase in internet traffic for data as well as the increase in client requests. Sooner or later cloud based platforms will bite you.
I agree, I use NinjaTrader8 and I love it. It's fantastic. The 3rd party add ons and the eco system are insane.
I also use my ninja trader live account through tradovate if I need to use Trading View.
I see massive latency with the Tradovate client and none on the web version.
Your computer is less reliable. If your computer crash in the middle of a trade your screwed. You can't hop on your phone and finish the trade. NT sucks period.
Well if you or Theotrade futures room member which is a monthly fee. You only have to spend $1.04 for buying and selling on micros. Only do my girls now not sure what the mini charges. Well worth it though not learning a new platform at this point.
Yeah I missed this but it isn't too late I realized late that vwap and such are no longer free and I without even using my newly funded account ran into various issues with things not loading which means I'm now thanks to seeing this pulling all funds

No. Windows only. Only mac friendly one is motivewave.
With parallel YES, that how I do it, otherwise motivewave but motivewave is a bit hard to setup

For the market data subscription, most of these are around 122$/month (Example Cme ) . But I see old comments from people online saying they subscribed for 3$ . Did they really up the prices that much ? Is it even worth it ?
It's cheaper if you're an amateur. If you go through your broker then you can get the cheaper amateur rates.
Tradovate/ NT is not reliable anymore considering two crashes in as many weeks.

I was one who lost due to being down for 2hrs, closed my account that afternoon..
We mentioned it week before on stream anytime there integration between two it's never the same , always for the worse.
Schwab x TD Ameritrade has been pretty smooth. But I don't trade futures on TOS, but so far it's been ok, no new problems yet and they've been at this merger for a while. Tradovate and Ninja are small, and they are having issues + implementing things that are unbecoming of a discount futures broker. The 50 a month for some order flow stuff is pretty wack imo... For tradovate.

I had some problema With placing orders With Apex, place the Order in different Places, sometimes in my favor,bor sometimes against.
Order flow is for level 2 data (bid/ask), delta div. and more, not just VWAP. A person in NOT paying $59.00 a month for VWAP. Come on man, dont deceive the public like that.

Not deceiving, I showed exactly what was included. But to have to pay $59/month to see VWAP is insane and you know it. Especially when their live service has been terrible.
Ninja Trader is free with most of the prop firms so the $1,499 for Ninja is not really correct. ( not including Order Flow )
Hope this is not a trend.
This is what I was worried about...I couldn't connect to ANYTHING with the ninja platform. Therefore, I went with tradovate...now, they own tradovate! Ninja is notoriously known for charging you for everything in the past. Their platform alone was over $1,000/month years ago. Greedy 🤬
