Read berserk manga some parts they skip on anime and also reveal how guys survive
Naa, just react to the Openings for the trash Anime they made in 2016 to follow up the Golden age and the Eclipse.
Great Great Openings, horrible horrible adaptation.
Guys don't watch the 2016 show it's pretty awful but it adapts the 2 arcs right after this anime arc (golden age) and the 3 movies give a better closure to the eclipse bit leave out alot of things that the arc and the anime showed the best option is to simply review the manga
the last movie has a little more in the ending if the everyone wanna know what happens after
now Read the manga and the lost children arc is a must!!!
Wellz grinning while everyone is getting murdered is killing me LMAO
"That boy ain't right."
Sick man😂
Griffith didnt nothing wrong plays in his head
He knew they weren't ready
This part right here lmao. 30:01
17:27 - 18:03 Jerry fighting his demons tryna stay awake LMAOOOO
Poor Judo, couldn't even tell Casca he loved her. Tragic.
how'd you work that one out?
@interstellar3837 in the manga he says that he missed the chance to tell her "the important thing"
@@paradoxx1998 isn't that assuming
@interstellar3837 well it's not explicitly stated, but there's a lot of context clues that heavily suggest that he did, but chose not to say anything, especially how his dialogue is more personal when acting like a mediator between Casca and Guts
Sad to say this is where the journey ends. Berserk has potential to become the greatest anime series of all time, it’s a shame we still haven’t gotten a proper adaption of the entire manga. I wonder if it’ll come one day..
It's kinda impossible you can't animate a lot of this stuff
@@TbA500NFor example?
@@TbA500N Why not?
@@Apfelkind4000 beyond the horrid acts committed throughout that modern studios outright reject it's also just a lack of understanding how the story holds its settings, the 97 anime understood Berserk is a slow story but too many studios are incapable of understanding that
@@TbA500N I had the same opinion until I watched jjk season 2. Its possible, just need the correct funding.
Dawg Jerry passing out is killing me lmao😂
I can't believe Jerry pulled a Rob during the Eclipse. LOL
The rest of rttv’s face during the eclipse: 😦
Wellz: 😃
Fun fact for the ones who don't know: the scene where Griffith is grabbing the behelit at the lake and the eclipse is at the background, Russo Brothers got inspired by that particular scene for Avengers Infinity War/Endgame where Thanos and Clint need to sacrifice a beloved person in order to get the soul stone.
Is this actually true??
@@aglux3417not 100% confirmed but miura said something about the franchise l and whenever the movie came out that scene was in the movie which wasn’t originally in the comics so highly likely
The scene where thanos is kneeling in the water with the soulstone in his hand and an eclipse in the background definitely felt like a berserk influence
The most horrifying part of this was Wellz smiling the whole time. LOL
Its a shame that the author passed before finishing the manga. Truly created a piece of work.
It is tragic however, his friend and edits are working on finishing his work.
The guts theme playing during the end discussion is the cherry on top 💀
Greatest discussion top 🔝🎩🎩🔝 5 discussion.
We need more Berserk guys. Please do the Memorial edition.
you can watch it yourself
@@_jrnogueira I clearly mean a reaction to it.
It’s literally the same arch just short id rather them watch Berserk 2016 idc how many babies hate it
@@killmonger5097
It gives what they watch more clarity, as well as it being in the movies in episodic form.
Tbh I’d even settle for like a group reading like what they did for CSM
This isnt where the story ends, its where it begins
Exactly
Now I see why people hate grffith omg he’s sick 😭
pure evil
Did some things wrong, but it’s exaggerated by a lot of watchers
@@thesmogo lmao
He’s Berserk
@@thesmogo I’m watching you
Guts: Is anyone still alive!
Gaston: Commander....
Guts: (so happy to hear another voice)
Gastron! Thank God you're still alive...
Remember the golden age only covers about 20% of berserk, this is just the introduction to a much darker and complex world
Possibly the best story in anime fiction. Guts the best MC, Griffith the best villain, Casca the best FC, and Judo the best side character. RIP Kentaro Miura. The father of dark fantasy anime 🙏🏼
They should definitely react to the memorial edition but only starting from when skull knight arrives in the forest to the end
Nah they streamline certain things in the beginning aswel.
The animation is ass, but watch all of the Berserk content you can.
Should watch 2016 for the same reason.
No.. It's honestly a shame that they wasted the first reaction on 97. Memorial clears, especially when it comes to pacing and directing of imortant story beats. Everything just feels more emotional and grandios. Not knowing anything about Berserk and randomly watching the 3 Movies on Netflix was one of the greatest and F'd up binge-watching experiences you could ever have.
@@IdocarebutIdont nah I started with '97 as well. This is the way.
@@DJ-pb1vr nah it's not. 97 is a watered down version of the manga with so few animation that you could just go straight for the manga instead.. The only thing about 97 that's actually good is the Nostalgia inducing Guts theme.
@@IdocarebutIdontbro you can not tell me that the 97’ version of the Zodd fight is not more terrifying and dreadful than the movies version
The Eclipse occured in 1997. They had no more manga left to adapt. But Berserk was that good that they had to make and anime adaptation
This Anime/Manga changes your life, the whole switch up felt like i was watching something i shouldnt be.
Guts was fighting... but not as hard as our boy at 17:45
Him and Rob always struggling to stay awake during reactions 😂
lmaoo
yeah damn, Berserk might be his manga after all cuz that was a bonafide struggler moment 😅. At such a key moment too, smh i don’t get it cuz he’s clearly invested in the show, so how do you fall asleep at that point? Lol
@@theprodigalsun__ he look za'd up
bro i saw the thumbnail and clicked so fast thinking they released it'
Dang
My boy Gaston did *NOT* deserve to go out like that, he could have opened that shop he always wanted and walk away 😢
So some historical context: this anime series came out around the time anime was in a limbo, most of rhe anime imported from Japan were OVA’s and Movies. Movies occasionally made it to the big screen but for the most part, anime back then didn’t have a huge market for serialized anime (apart from dbz and bigger brands). The manga also was running alongside this series so it was never finished. Fast forward to current time. With the increase in demand for anime and easier international distribution and streaming, they went back and made a series of movies to gussy up the early story arcs and then tried to continue the series afterwards, to debatable quality…..side note for the love of god do the original “Ninja Scroll”
Not only did they Band of the Hawk, except for Guts and Casa as they were the only ones that made it out, die a horrible death. But because of Griffith's sacrifice, they were all sent down to the pit of Hell. He brought'em all down. And, because Guts and Casca are cursed with the brand, they both would be dragged to Hell as well, if they were to die at any point.
Not only that but the brand will attract every Apostle and evil spirit within a square mile to their location no matter where they are.
Naw I don’t think you understand @TheOne, have you read the manga? They skip a key in the anime that shows anyone who’s had dealings with demons (the god hand, etc maybe even just apostles) their soul is doomed into a lake of torment and suffering for eternity when they die. Whether they became a monster, through the behelit, were a sacrifice, or were simply killed by one (I believe, been years since I read it.) doesn’t matter if you were a good person or innocent, down you go. So the suffering doesn’t end even when you die, the band of the hawk is still suffering, and so will Guts and Casca, unless something changes.
I’ve been a Berserk fan for a decade maybe and that realization just hit me yesterday @M11. Griffith is despicable.
@ I already knew since when the Slug Count was being dragged down to the abyss, one of his victims, Vargas. was part of the chain of souls that took him there.
The God Hand also say this and elaborate on the abyss. Apparently it's a plane of existence where a person loses their individuality and forced to wander for eternity. Right now the Band of the Hawks aren't being tortured but punished with an endless, inane existence by virtue of merely believing in Griffith.
The mother of all cliffhangers. And the only way you’ll know the outcome is if you watch the newer movies and or read the manga which to this day is still going.
In the manga it was shown that Pippin's body was hallowed out, when see his back, theres nothing there.
Also i hope you guys still do a group read of the manga, its the true experience to learning the story of berserk. Even with the golden age there are parts left out of both adaptation including lore and important fights.
Bros we’re speechless and depressed. I feel it though. Rewatching the horrors of the finale always puts me in a bad mood lmao
Craziest ending in all anime even tho it's just the epilogue
evangelion is close
U mean prologue?
Check out the anime ninja resurrection ova part 1 and 2 . The ending is almost like Berserk episode 25
Based on novel from 1960s and there is a live action in 1981 and and manga adaption 1986.
People bring up devilman and evangelion, but naw they don’t hit the way berserk did in my opinion, I barely remember what happened in those fr. I know it was a shocker, but I just wasn’t as invested in the characters so it didn’t hit as hard, even felt a little gratuitous. Eureka 7 did a better job tugging on the heartstrings in my opinion. Evangelion’s plot seemed almost like a rough draft by comparison.
@theprodigalsun__ To me End of Evangelion is purposefully meant to be vague. Its being seen through the eyes of a child that has no idea what the rules or lore of the universe are, nor why he's been put under this forced disorienting psychedelic coma after multiple traumatic events one after the other. Its so shocking to him he unknowingly murders everyone on planet earth to escape from it. The events in the eclipse are obviously more cruel though, Gut's having recently re acquired everything he'd been longing for before its defiled in the worst way possible. Intense betrayal and hatred. To me though Eva's presentation makes it stand out more. You really see through Shinji's eyes and consciousness through this bizarre horror ego death experience. I've still never seen anything else like it.
Kid Griffith is played by Ash Ketchum
You see the horror on every one's face but Wellz is straight cheezin😂
The 2nd guy on the left be sleeping his ass off poor dude 😂
"How does Guts get out of this?" They answer that in the Golden Age movies.
Guts jr. In the vision was the child of guts and casca from their first union. That's how Griffith's life would've played out.
They didn't mention it in the anime but but in the manga it's stated that Griffith had his "equipment" removed....
They never mention or even imply castration in the manga though. And Griffith had no way of knowing Casca was pregnant, he's not omniscient. It was just a fever dream, dosnt have to make sense.
Wish they continue the eclipse movie version from this
I just want to correct something wellz said at the start.
You never actually know what Griffith is thinking in the manga.
The only time you get inner thoughts are in his duel with Guts.
When he sees the younger version of himself, these are visions that are placed there by the God Hand to lure him in.
Causality even made sure he didn’t have a tongue so that he couldn’t say no to their proposal. Deep down anyone would want their body back, and they took his want of that as the “I sacrifice”
But yeah, read the manga lol
The movies/memorial edition shows how guts and casca got out of there. It’s shorter and leaves more stuff out but animation is a lot more better
Animations def different, personally I think this style suits the story better
@@snally6111 art style for 97 is really good but the actual animation is ass especially compared to other anime that came out around the time like Ghost In The Shell or Spriggan. Even with that though, 97 is still the definitive adaptation we have so far.
@@SolidSnake240Literally my thoughts after finishing this reaction The story is Good don’t get me wrong but the animation is straight ass the anime is carried by the story. Imo the Movie>97 anime
@@jaydbankz0266Yea I definitely prefer the movies in that regard. There's a lot of still shots during the action scenes that make them feel flat. But luckily the story is good enough to carry it
So to clear it up, there was never really meant to be a season 2.
The show was created as an advert to sell more manga. When this finished, the manga was only just passed the Eclipse aswel, so there was basically no source material.
And if you think this is bad, search Wyld 😂
Facts wyld so wild he was never an any anime adaptions 😭 them black dogs too dmn freaky
@@MarcelusMecer FrFr. I think they should just take out the over sexualised aspect and bring him in as a savage.
A Zodd with less self control.
It’s the same for the lost Children arc.
Some of the best of berserk, but no one wants to see fairy grape on the timeline.
@@theblackprotagonist5936 Nah, if they adapt Wyald, they have to go all the way. The whole point of him was to show how depraved some of the apostles are. Though I'd rather see an adaptation follow your suggestion than not see him or the Black Dog Knights in an anime.
If you guys watch the continuation, make sure to watch the bluray version. The version on streaming sites is the release version with none of the touch ups that the bluray got. Doesn't fix all the problems with it, but it makes it way more watchable.
Its a huge shame that wyald wasnt in the show since hes supposed to be the one taunting the hawks with griffith all naked and weak in his huge apostle hands . But that character was suppppper brutal so probably best they didnt animate what he does lol
Lowkey reckon Wyald would’ve been better off being some side villain like the snake baron in the black swordsman than in golden age, he felt super out of place.
@@scoott8605well some fans myself included think that he was supposed to represent what's coming next.
Once you think about it the things he do are the things all demons do in eclipse his brutality is glimpse of what's to come.
@@Ningamer-bo7ej I definitely see where you’re coming from and I’ve heard this before. But still I think that zodd does a better job at establishing the supernatural elements and the eclipse.
I think guts’ realisation that he’s surrounded by hundreds of apostles and his only frame of reference is zodd it’s much more shocking, even if the apostles share more similarities with wyald.
@@Ningamer-bo7ej Well yeah thats definetly the point of him, but theres a reason alot of people have the opinion that Wyald is out of place. Zodd just teased it enough so that the eclipse hit even harder when you see what true evil demons really are.
32:20 The medieval Ghost Rider
Everyone in shock about what’s going on in the eclipse but here go Wellz
Wellz:😁
Imagine finishing this episode, and thinking that this is the end of Berserk. Just like that. I was left with a huge void in my chest, for years, as I didn’t realize that the manga existed. Nor did I realize that the anime only scratched the surface of this long, traumatic, and incredible journey of Guts.
People say griffith did nothing wrong....
Exactly
Yall should react to the anime bloopers, its lowkey just like the rush hour bloopers. You can tell the voice actors had fun with these roles
That was the best reaction ever. I ain't gonna lie, when I first watched this, I was in shock, and the manga is even worst as its more graphic. And if you guys start getting into the manga, its gets even worst, yet its amazing as I shows Guts dealing with the trauma of losing his friends. There is a reason why Berserk is considered one of the greatest manga ever produced. The funny thing is that Miura passed away before finishing the manga. The irony is that the relationship between Gut and Griffith is based on Miura and his best friend, Kouji Mori (who was the artist for Holyland) who Mori is currently drawing the final chapters of Berserk.
At the beginning: 😃😄😀😁😆
At the end: 🙁😴😕😁☹
Looking forward for more Berserk reactions
Hope y'all watch the movies to see how he escaped the eclipse. Loved your reactions to this great series.
The show leaving out Skull Knight is a bit criminal.
The biggest criminal
God I love Berserk 97’. Even tho they left alot out important dialogue between characters. ESPECIALLY skull knight. A KEY player. Hope one day a studio makes a full faithful adaptation now that there’s wayyy more source material. 🤞🏽
Definitely not the end, its just the beginning thankfully 🙏
It doesn’t get much worse than this but it does get creepier
What a journey! Gonna miss Pat and everybody vibing to the Berserk struggle theme. If you think about it this might really be the greatest story ever told. Just the whole history. Manga started in the 80's....classic anime adaptation in the 90's that only tells the start of the story.....manga still going....so much story told after yet still so much story that will never be fully told as intended because the author/artist passed....the movie trilogy iconic in itself, gave us a glimpse of how well the story really could be told. Bruh think about it...they don't even get to see Skull Knight....or any of the other real main characters....unless they watch the ULTRA trash 3D TV series....and even if you look past all the flaws in the animation/sound etc. You STILL only get enough of the rest of the story to be mad when that ends abruptly. Probably one of the best work of arts ever. One of these days it will get the adaptation it deserves of the whole story up until at least the author's passing.
Griffith isn't really all of their king he is 1 of the 5 godhands leaders
The movie will show you how he got out. They actually include more of what happened at the end of the eclipse and right after. But they stop after that so there isn’t much more to see other than the cg series that takes place way later and doesn’t show everything. Berserk really just needs a remake anime that covers everything and revamps the IP
umm yeah watching this when I was 11 years old traumatized me, took a couple of days to recover from the shock. It's also when i quit watching cartoon network and go full out dark fantasy anime and novels , for real so dope .
Golden age arc is absolute peak, with a shocking conclusion. Amazing series, I recommend people read the entire manga.
Absolute cinema 🙌🏼
So, there are modern remakes of this original series in 3 separate movies, as well as a modern anime series remake that you can find online (the movies were on Netflix at one point). Both of which are just as awesome as the original, and add a bit more context about what happened surrounding the Hawks, both from the initial attack in the forest (and tells what happened to Rickert, the young recruit). As well as how Gutts came to survive the Eclipse, and how he came to hunt demons afterward. Frome there, you can see two anime series that are continuations of this story (Berserk 2016 & 2017), which are admittedly far inferior to not just the remakes/movies, but even the original series, in terms of the animation (this is because the studio that produced the original is no longer around & the studio that was willing to pick up the series relies HEAVILY on CGI).
However, I'll say that the sequel anime series are still worth a watch, if only because it tells not only more of Gutts' story after the Eclipse, but it also includes key characters in his journey that were left out of the original series, but were featured in the remakes, such as Puck the elf.
Event though memorial edition still skip arcs and scenes and sometimes the CGI animation may ruin some moments but at least it shows one of the most important characters which this 97 versions skips and its Skullknight, and I loved how on the memorial edition the eclipse was and felt MORE BRUTAL bc of the animation, and it shows a bit more after eclipse.
You have balls of steel to watch the eclipse in video reaction.
My total respect.
They have the memorial edition on Crunchyroll it’s a movie trilogy they made it into 13 episodes with more footage. I’d recommend it as a fan of Berserk so you can see a little more of the story.
Griffith is the 5th Angel of the God Hand. The Band of Hawks became sacrifices and their souls empowered Griffith to become Femto. The more they struggle and harder they fight the more valuable of a sacrifice they become.
I think we’ve all been waiting for this one!!!😂
The new series covers the Black Swordsman arc, which does pick up to after the Eclipse when Guts is in the bar, it does however have animation issues as the studio chose to overuse CGI badly.
I won't spoil but it does have a super hype moment in it and the story obviously does follow the manga, so I would say it is worth the watch!
The 2016 anime is so frustrating cuz the 2d animation was great when they did use it. I think it's still worth a watch though, they did go back and improve the animation for the Blu-ray release.
The only book/manga I have ever read is berserk and I don't regret it. Legit the best piece of fiction there is.
I can’t watch the episode a second time, but I’m here for the discussion.
Cyberpunk,Vinland saga,Deadman wonderland,and parasyte
Nah, the crazy thing is that Guts still hasn’t gotten revenge on Griffith… 379 chapters and Griffith is still alive…
never seen my self as manga reader, before berserk😂
Kentaro Miura legendary artist
And the manga is WAY better than the anime so I recommend to start from chapter 1 the anime skipped so many things
@@erwinescudero1813agreed man, agreed... its a must
Watch Claymore anime as well, since both BERSERK and Claymore are both dark fantasy animes
That was traumatizing 😢
7:30 heart racing knowing what’s about to happen 😂
You're doing the outtakes, right?
It's customary for Berserk 1997 reactors to do the outtakes afterwards. It's basically episode 26^^
Time to read the manga
I would recommend they start reading the manga after they rescue Griffith. The Anime left a lot out during the build-up to the eclipse, Guts had an incredible fight with a member of the Apostles. Even Zodd pulled up in the aftermath to protect Griffith and warn Guts about what's about to happen.
These few chapters were incredible because it shows how strong Guts truly is, to go Toe to Toe with a member of the Apostles and the Band of Hawk watching his greatness was PEAK. And he took the Dub
pippin death in anime😬pippin death in manga💀💀💀
i like how they played the ost in the background as they chatted. damn, yeah the eclipse was hell and dawn of a new demon king femto from the sacrifice of all his loyal followers, guts watched all his friends torn to shreds, the man he admired became his mortal enemy, lost his arm, and the last thing his right eye saw was his girl getting violated by the man they both admired.....3rd movies does the eclipse justice. 2016 anime prob not worth it though, it's okay but u'll feel feel disappointed
You kno its real when a reation starts with a fade-in
the 3 films are incredible, include more story and show how he escapes and what happens after immediately before the next arc
They guy talking to Guts, about following him, that's the same guy he voices Goku
Is that a Barrington Levy Shaolin Temple hoodie? That's 🔥
Wait did bro really just say “better animation” for the 2016 anime ?!?!
I been waiting on this moment,it did not dissapoint
Welcome Strugglers.
watch the memorial edition it has skull knight and shows them escaping the eclipse.
Griffith competing for the most insane villain ever
I would say he's number 1 in that category. The only person I can see giving him competition for that title is Bondrewd.
griffith had no choice, he lost everything except behelit
The show does continue right after the eclipse only time passed enough for guys wounds to heal
