Very interesting to hear this recording from 1979 in the context of Fripp's work & the several iterations of King Crimson since then. Lots of fun to contrast the hard Sophoclean light of Fripp's 1970s analytical systematics approach with today's goofy & hilarious Fripp & Toyah videos appearing regularly on the ye olde RUclips. I reckon Gurdjieffian metaphysics still factor strongly in Fripp's personal practice, below the surface of his nude OnlyFans parody & other recent video antics. I will now parse the principals of Robert & Toyah's Sunday Lunches in the analytical form of the equilateral cross.
Thanks so much for posting. I attended the Bathurst Street Theatre show on Aug.12th. Incredible experience. What radio station was this for? CKRG ? CKMF ?
I've read he abandoned officially using the "Music for" titling because he felt he was intruding on Eno's precedent set with "Music for Films". It was simply a collection of selected Frippertronics loops recorded on this 1979 tour. God Save The Queen and Let The Power Fall likely contained his selections for "Music for Sports". All of these have now just recently be released on his new box set "Exposures".
Where did you get ahold of these tapes? The Robert Fripp interview is fantastic. I believe he was in Toronto on that date and played at he Bathurst Street Theatre that night.

Anyone know what happened to Music For Sports that he mentions here, due to be released on Eno's Obscure label?

I'm doing tapes restoration and sometimes I have very interested stuff
Great, and thanks! I'm always looking out for rare Fripp and King Crimson stuff.
@@infowarriorone Are you still doing it?
What is exactly the first track on the tape?
Got it. It's "Exposure" by Fripp on the samely named solo album.
No, it's not that
@@petr3788 it is actually.
Love his music, admire what he does with a guitar, amazingly erudite and eloquent man, but by gum, he really puts it across exceedingly dully (sadly)
Exceedingly dully? By gum? Sadly? Subjective responses are dull indeed.
