Incredible archive footage: Experience the 1960s mining industry - Daily Mail

The pictures taken in the 1960s mining communities of County Durham and Cumbria show how many of the miners relaxed in their time off from their work underground. The rare images show the miners in good spirits relaxing in the locker rooms, top right and bottom left, after a hard day's work and even enjoying a drink in the local working mens club, top left, while their children and families played together in the towns' narrow back streets, bottom right.
