    Music and Lyrics by Ben R.:
    Gonna shine tonight
    Dreamin of freedom, ready to fight
    Searchin' for the light
    Makin' it last for eight crazy nights
    Throw back the darkness
    Turn on the lights
    We gonna show the world tonight
    Fires of freedom
    Burnin' real bright tonight
    Woh oh oh oh!
    Light up the night, beat back the shadows
    Knowin' the world's gonna light up for you
    Light up the night, dance till the morning
    Spinnin' it up, Wo oh oh oh!
    Headin' out a' sight
    Got my Menorah, set to ignite
    At the speed of light
    Chasing my dreams, about to take flight
    Throw back the darkness
    Turn on the lights
    We gonna show the world tonight
    Fires of freedom
    Blazin' real bright tonight
    Woh oh oh oh!
    Light up the night, beat back the shadows
    Knowin' the world's gonna light up for you
    Light up the night, dance till the morning
    Spinnin' it up, Wo oh oh oh!
    For just eight nights,
    Gather together
    Glimmers of those
    Who light up your life
    For just eight nights
    Gaze up in wonder
    Al Hanissim
    Ve al hapurkan!
    Al Hanissim, Al Hapurkan (For the miracles and for the salvation)
    Yamim Hahem, Bazman Hazeh (In those days, at this time)
    Al Hanissim, Al Hapurkan
    Yamim Hahem, Bazman Hazeh
    All I need, One little light
    Gonna chase, Darkness away
    All I need, One little light
    Gonna chase, Darkness away
    Al Hanissim Ve al Hapurkan
    Yamim Ha hem Bazman Hazeh
    All I need is one little light
    Gonna chase this darkness away
    Light up the night, beat back the shadows
    Knowin' the world's gonna light up for you
    Light up the night, dance till the morning
    Spinnin' it up, Spinin' it down!
    Light up the night, beat back the shadows
    Knowin' the world's gonna light up for you
    Light up the night, dance till the morning
    Spinnin' it up, All night long!

    It reminds me of who I am and the Jewish heritage I am part of. And how proud I am to be Jewish. We are all related from the beginnings of Judiasm. Let's all rejoice with song and dance of the wonderful heritage of ancestors left for us.

    16,000,000 Jewish souls on the planet. That's it. Why all the fuss? Why all the fear? Can't we all just get along? Can't we be allowed to "live and let live"? The two sons of father Abraham should live in peace as the brothers they are, not at each other's throats. Damn the provocators, Damn the zealots that mask their greed for gain and blind hatreds under the guise of jihad and death to the Jews. Shame on them. Allah, the ever watchful, weeps for their actions. Father Abraham weeps for his sons and their constant fighting. Peace - Shalom! Peace - Salam! It's the same wish. Why not stop madness. Stop the murders. Stop the hatreds. Live in peace.

    Eliezer Pennywhistler Since I cannot reply to any of YOUR comments I will post this here. I completely agree with you. The part that really hit me is that I am a converting Jew. I still remember telling my dad that I would not give up Jesus just because I am converting UNLESS I was shown exactly why I shouldn't. When I dug deeper and deeper into the faith and culture of the Jewish people I realised that you cannot be both. People can call themselves Messianic Jews all they want but they are not Jewish. It is exactly what Judaism is not. It took me time but I realised it. I was shown when doing research that it is impossible for Jesus to be the Mashiach. The prophecies were not fulfilled. Verses were mistranslated by the Christian Theologians. Such as alma, which was the original word that was used to describe the mother of the Messiah it does not mean virgin it means young. I woke up and I realised that I was chosen by G-d himself. That meant that I had to accept everything that he had to give to me and that meant the truth.

      the Suffering Servant who defined world history and brought knowledge of God to all the nations did not match the very same prophecy ? Or is it rather the claim the Messiah did not usher in the Messianic Kingdom which accordingly must come after the conditions of Isaiah 53 and elsewhere are firstly met.
      there are various reasons why many Jews (not necessarily Orthodox Jews - since they incorporate their own 'Torah' by way of oral "tradition") do not recognise the Messiah, these are actually foretold, many of the House of Judah won't recognise their King until the appointed time.
      However to dismiss the significance of this figure as the one who emerged from among these people and became the most influential figure in human history, as well as the one who gave the World knowledge of God, is rather dismissive. I would look more carefully at these issues and recommend reading a balanced selection of ideas put forward concerning fulfillment of Messianic prophecies, such as with the definition and use of "alma" to denote particular characteristics. In any case, whilst I can understand some aversion to Christianity in its contemporary format I would nonetheless advise reading more broadly on complex matters so at to arrive at a sufficiently informed view.

      Occidental Christianity is far from the beliefs of Yeshua and his talmidim. Continue searching, I have emounah in our God that all will be revealed.
      Their is signficance in the fourth day of creation, because one day is likened to a thousand years. Their is also importance to the 7 children of Leah, the fourth being Yehuda; after Yehuda Leah's womb was shut until Issachar. Her final child was Dinah, judgment.
      I understand there is a lot people fear losing their identities, but it's crazy I see Jewish sects praying over tombs of dead Rabbis, that is veneration like the Catholic Church! It's rebukable.
      Hashem alone is true and worthy, He is our shepherd and Yeshua demanded His people and His followers to keep Torah, be Light, and to go back to Abrahamic roots. As you read His Words and synthesize Tanak; I pray you perceive who He is.

    The birth of Yeshua our Messiah does not happen without Hanukkah. No Hanukkah no more Judah. No more Judah then the Davidic line ends and no Messiah Yeshua. Christmas is actually a pagan holiday and not found in scripture. But in the Book of John we see Yeshua keeping Hanukkah...Shalom.

    • @darkfaeriepoison
      @darkfaeriepoison 9 лет назад +1

      Jesus is the product of a virgin birth, and since lineage is on the fathers side of the family, there is absolutely no possible way that Jesus can be a descendant of David. Speaking of Pagan, human sacrifice, cannibalism, Jesus is nothing more than worshiping the sun, not the son, virgin birth, demi-gods, gods impregnating mortals...these are ALL pagan beliefs that the original Christian thealogions used to attract pagans to their cult. Just saying. Prophecies have not been fulfilled, there was no possible way Jesus could have been Mashiach seeing as prophecy can ONLY happen when the majority of world Jewry is living in the land of Yisrael. This has not happened since 300 BCE. Therefore he cannot be the greatest prophet (second only to Moses since Christians like to forget that part). Don't try to come onto a JEWISH video to try and lead us to your Christian cult.

      Hannukkah is one of few holidays that weren't established in the Torah. In fact, it's the only holiday with Purim that allowes to work in that period. It compares AFTER the Common Era as a commemoration (the episode commemorated of course was before, I'm talking of the feast). How could it be possible for Jesus to practice it? And again, please stop trying to convert us. We don't need Jesus. We already have the light of the Torah, and Ner Talmid, our everlasting Light, Kadosh Baruch Hu. We're fine, just stop trying to convert us.

    Pretend Jews just NEVER get it right. Rosh HaShanah commemorates the creation of the special human soul that was given to Eve and Adam. Creation took place during the 6 days preceding.
    There are FOUR New Year's mentioned in the Torah - 1 Tishrei is the New Year for the civil calendar, for setting the Sabbatical year, and for figuring the yearly tithe on vegetables and grains.
    15 Shevat is the New Year for trees.
    1 Elul is the New Year for the tithing of cattle.
    Read "your" Bible, son.

    If you don't want me coming back on here I won't. Please don't fill my inbox up with your obsessive comments to someone who never even addressed you in the first place. I merely responded to you. Most jews only go nuts over jews who accept Yeshua or as you say become christian. They don't get as upset about jews who follow buddah. Yes there are jewish buddhist. I will leave you alone, just ask yourself why do you and so many other jews get so upset over jews for jesus but not jews for buddah.

  • @montanahillbilly2012
    @montanahillbilly2012 11 лет назад

    The traditions are different now but it is the same festival. Why is it that jews like me who accept Yeshua as the messiah and still keep the torah are shunned and hated by other jews but jews that forsake and blaspheme the torah by eating pig flesh and refusal to circumcise their young are given respect and still hailed as jews. Even when the torah says that those who eat pig flesh and refuse circumcision will be cut off from their people. I still stand with my people even if they reject me.

  • @montanahillbilly2012
    @montanahillbilly2012 11 лет назад

    If you look at the footnotes in most bibles it will confirm that the festival of dedication is hanukkah. Also if you look at the original greek the word for festival of dedication is one word spelled "Egkainia" and if you translate that word it is defined as the annual 8 day celebration of the jews that starts on the 25th of Kislev instituted in the talmud or by judas maccabaeus depending on which lexicon you use to celebrate the cleansing of the temple.

  • @montanahillbilly2012
    @montanahillbilly2012 11 лет назад

    You are correct Hannukah is not in the torah. It is a traditional celebration. However Yeshua or Jesus if you prefer that name is known to have celebrated Hanukkah and it is recorded that he did so in the Gospel of John chapter 10. The winter festival of dedication or rededication depending on the translation is the celebration of Hanukkah. So if Jesus celebrated hanukkah why is it taboo for the churches to celebrate it but encouraged to celebrate Baal and his big green phallic symbol on 12/25?

  • @MrChadbag
    @MrChadbag 11 лет назад

    The message of repentance and forgiveness, renewal, redemption, blessing others, etc. is applicable to all whose religion celebrates LIFE. I am not Jewish (am LDS) but find the message of Rosh Hashanah applicable to my life and anyone who celebrates life. I suspect that many of the Jewish Feasts and High Holidays have messages applicable to us all, Jew and Christian, alike (and others as well). And after all, Jesus was jewish.

  • @montanahillbilly2012
    @montanahillbilly2012 11 лет назад

    As a messianic jew who is torah observant and keeps all of the hebrew festivals including hanukkah. I would encourage you to research the hebrew roots movement if you find Rosh Hashanah to be something you wish to celebrate. I do agree with others though that your comment would have been more appropriate on the Rosh Hashanah videos. Also you should google search "Hanukkah in the Gospel of John by Montana Truth Seekers Ministry". I think you would enjoy reading it.

    You are entitled to your opinion. I would be more ashamed, if I were you, that I was a anal pedant. I only missed the capital J once and you call that out. And I am correct on Feasts. As the writer, I can use grammar rules to emphasize what I want to emphasize. Feasts is a placeholder for a group of proper nouns and was used as *I* intended.

  • @MrChadbag
    @MrChadbag 11 лет назад

    Sorry, no offense intended. And you will note I capitalized the J most of the time. And when speaking about religious groupings, they are not usually capitalized, unlike national or perhaps ethnic designations. Ie, a mormon missionary, a catholic hymn, a protestant church, an islamic book, but, a German car.

  • @EliezerPennywhistler

    Um, we already know what Hanukkah is. We do not need Xtian pagans trying to explain to us the Festival of Lights that we invented 2200 years ago.
    But it would please me no end to have you Xtians stop walking over a Jewish music video about a Jewish holiday and desecrating it. We'll take it from here, OK? Go away.

    What does that mean - you are going to celebrate Rosh HaShanah? Say the associated prayers? Attend synagogue? Begin the Ten Days of Awe and Repentance? Acknowledge the wrongs you have committed to others, apologize to the people involved, and donate money or time to community charities? Eat an apple dipped in honey?
    What?

    in Hannuka we light candles in a special 8 brunched lamp

    And Feasts is a stand in for specific proper nouns, Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Weeks, and others that don't have the word "feast" in them. Since it is a stand in for a grouping of specific named holidays, it could be properly capitalized as a proxy for, and hence itself (a) proper noun(s).

  • @EliezerPennywhistler
    @EliezerPennywhistler 11 лет назад

    By the way - your "Bible" does not say that your Jesus celebrated Hanukah. It just says ... in passive voice ... "then came the Festival of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade." Some celebration.

    The scene where the guy puts oil on salad then turns to put it in the menorah is a rip off of a scene in one of the first Maccabeat's version of One Day where the guys use ketchup bottles as microphones and then one uses it to give a customer in the restaurant ketchup. Just saying.

    To tell you the truth, Jews would prefer that you capitalize the word "Jewish" next time you feel the need to write it in public.
    There is no need to capitalize "feasts" as it is not a proper noun, should you ever feel the need to write it again.
