    This is the Largest Match in the World....but does bigger mean better?
    Hint : This isn't a perfect product.
    Today Luke is reviewing the UCO Behemoth Sweetfire Matches.
    ….
    Price : $5 on the UCO web site. $11.50 on Amazon
    Link UCO : www.ucogear.co...
    Link Amazon : www.amazon.com...
    FEATURES
    Stormproof strikeable tip, can be used with included striker in bag, eliminating need for matches.
    Made from sugarcane waste - bagasse is a fibrous sugarcane by-product and is used around the world as a renewable bio fuel.
    Each Behemoth is 5.5" long.
    SPECIFICATIONS
    Burn Time: 15 mins/point
    Weight: 0.8oz (23g) each
    Dims: 5.5" x 0.75" x 0.4" (14 x 2 x 1 cm) each
    Review :
    My review for these are essentially the same as with the other stormproof sweetfire fire starters with the exception that this is much, much bigger. With the longer burn time comes expanded capabilities in nastier, wetter weather. This is not a fire starter for your average fire but those which involve a great deal of wet material.. Without a doubt there are situations which call for a fire starter like that but for most people it is less likely.
    Good addition to any kit
    Not waterproof.
    Not windproof.
    Great for perfect weather conditions.
    Car camping
    Hunting
    Situations where you can do a better job at keeping them dry

    The world's biggest Match.....
    Could be better in my opinion. Still a good product but not what the company claims it to be.
    On to the next....

    Great fricking review! Love the realistic approach! Not slamming it, not giving it the full endorsement based on the companies claim! Nice man! Thanks!

    In a true survival situation, you don't mess around and tinker with trivia, you just get the damn job done! For a fire starter, in an emergency kit, this would be a winner in my book. It works, it will create a good fire that will start your main fire, and it will stand up to elements and abuse. Why wouldn't you want to keep 2 or 3 in a vehicle emergency kit!

    The company could easily dip the rest of the match in wax and make it waterproof and it would also make it burn much slower for a longer burn.

    When they said waterproof i think they ment the top of the match, once you strike the match and the top is burning stick it in water then pull it out and it will start to burn again without striking it again. It will just poof into flame. Its pretty cool match, they make them in different sizes as well.

    Thanks Luke, yes it has a place somewhere in a certain type of kit, but for me the deal breaker is the “striker” get that wet or damp and you could be up the proverbial creek without a paddle (if you are just relying on this product to light your fire. ) Regards Clive

    10 minutes can get a fire going in most weather conditions. I think they may have stretched the truth on their claims and took facts from perfect conditions but all in all I think it would be a great fire starter.

  • @charlescollier7217
    @charlescollier7217 6 лет назад +2

    I am not sure I agree with your assessment. Your criticism seems to be that it is not wind and waterproof for the entirety of the item, but that's true of wind and waterproof matches of any size. What they do is offer an extended ignition area that doesn't go out with wind and can get started after being wet. That's exactly what this does, on steroids.

    • @greekveteran2715
      @greekveteran2715 8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, he judge it, like if those were made to start a fire underwater, like if they said on the description, that these are Divers matches, to burn the whole Pacific Ocean down lol.. I mean he literally acted, like he was kind of disapointed, when these puppies, worked wonders holding a big fire. I can literally cook noodles with just the flame from one of these!!!

    I am likely an outsider voice here, but I would rather carry the traditional waterproof matches. You can get a bunch of them and like the tip of this product, you can't put it out even in a water dunk. And for the money, it is just better IMO.

  • @danquarterman
    @danquarterman Год назад

    The smaller matches are good, and im sure these are too, but you can easily make your own with some fatwood and some candle wax, you can mold them however you like. I can make a ice cube size ones that do last 15 min, and burn so hot that it's pretty much impossible to blow out. There's tutorials out there.

  • @basecamper7504

  • @g0bi
    @g0bi 6 лет назад

    What is the orange stuff and why isn't the entire match covered with it?
    That would make it waterproof. On the other hand it might burn to fast...
    Thanks for a great video btw :)

  • @EarlyMist
    @EarlyMist 6 лет назад

    Thing is ...why do you need a big match that burns for 15 mins (or 13 or whatever)? It only takes a minute to a few minutes to get a fire started, these just seem a waste once they go past that. Maybe something a quarter or even half the size might be efficient and a boost over regular storm proof matches...

    If you get more than five minutes, it’s going to be good enough for 99% of most people’s needs, even in a disaster. As for strike-anywhere, that’s illegal in the US and that’s where they are made and marketed. You want Eddy lites, you have to cross the border.

    Why not just call in some air support with napalm? Seriously now, I think that maybe a flare would do better if you were stuck with being the fire boy during a hurricane. Or, just bring some Coleman Fuel to start anything, including your eyebrows. I know that everyone loves birch bark, but my trick around here is pine cones.
