I’d say endurance is Arthur >= John (John fell from a train whilst being shot and somehow walked back to camp, endured bites and scratches from a bear, endured in the winter and the wolves) but Arthur’s endurance feats are slightly better due to TB and him being tortured twice. Skill imo John >= Arthur. Take the swimming and drawing aside, John can learn fast and we’ve seen it during the epilogue, plus he learned things from Landon as well. Battle IQ gotta go to John, yes you may beg to differ but he won against a whole army during a civil war and he was a good leader during rdr1. John also planned on the train robbery during chapter 2. Abilities is equal imo, John can activate eagle eye as well, remember that he was taught by the early members of the Van Der Linde Gang.
Thing is even tho john has all of Arthur's ability in RDR 2 thats just for gameplay he doesn't really have them in canon and also biq still Arthur he makes different version of many plans on the fly and john always had someone do the plans for him in the Mexican revolution he didn't make any of his own he was just there to mostly help

I totally agree but I think draw speed goes to Arthur because in most missions like the Braithwaite manor attack there's a cutscene where Arthur and John both barge open the door and it turns into a dead eye draw and Arthur draws his gun before John and kills them before John can even draw his own weapon.

This describes how I feel about the 2 exactly. They are so evenly matched in almost every way, but if they ever had to go up against each other in their peak, Arthur would put John in the ground. Brothers never fight, but Arthur would win.

Wow great work, I would say that Battle IQ goes to John he was a great strategist even in RDR2 he showed it in his "Train plan" which actually worked or in RDR1 when he fought against the Mexican Army, IQ to Arthur he has a better understanding of how the world works and what's is more important, even his legendary phrase "Vengeance is an idiots game" shows that Arthur knew that Revenge will always have consequences, also he told John many times "You gotta run and don't look back" but John looked back and got revenge, two things Arthur told him not to do and we know the consequences, DC to John because of his weapons and skill and AP goes to Arthur, he's simply physically stronger, Willpower i would say goes to Arthur he had TB and in the last 3 missions Arthur even struggled to walk he had to sit somewhere because he was dying but despite this Arthur successfully rescued Abigail, gave John the chance to survive the Pinkertons and the Gang and not only that he even fighted Micah and won this fight while dying
Ok so draw speed Arthur his draw speed is literally 200millisecond and he consistently draws on 5 people without dying whilst john literally struggles to draw and shoot 2 Mexicans causing luisa to die in the process . Skill arthur hes been doing it for longer and knows basically everything john learns by mid to endgame at the start of the game without anyone teaching him (also rickets taught john only how to aim properly nothing else). Biq Arthur can make different versions of plans on the fly and his plans are mostly successful even in fewer numbers . Experience def Arthur without debate john spent 12 yrs hiding and avoiding fighting whilst Arthur spent 22 being the prime bread winner of the gang and main fighter being in all house robberies and big scores the gang does Weapons john but Arthur only missing like 2 -3 guns cuz they appeared between 1899-1911 Endurance john stood up after being shot for 7-10times Durability Arthur got shot 2 times by a shotgun from point blank 💀 Combat Arthur better h2h fighter and is extremely good with every gun he touches , hes so good he still manages to fight and win against an army whilst being steps away from dying of TB Willpower equal they both will fight to the end for their causes and both died for it in the end . @@Patatras_5325 I already proved john's draw speed was 50 milliseconds if you want to read it again go ahead So, at the end of Red Dead Redemption, taking into consideration that when John left the barn the enemies had weapons aimed at him with their fingers on the trigger. They were fully ready to kill him, yet John still manages to draw his gun faster than they can react and fire. Now since the average reaction time is, 200 milliseconds or so. I would assume that it took about 250-300 milliseconds for the enemies to react and fire. Yet if you stand still and don't fire at the enemies it takes 7 whole seconds for the enemies to fire at John inside of deadeye. Which means that if you divide 300/7 It took around 50 milliseconds for John to draw his gun. Also, I have a theory on why John was so fast. I think John's willpower actually boosted his speed and reflexes so much so that 7 seconds to him was actually 300 milliseconds, and he had a must faster speed than normal. To back up this claim that it was 300 milliseconds the enemies in his perspective, weren't even moving to him either. So, this means that John has the fastest draw speed in the series.

The one time Arthur is in contact with a bear in the story, you can shoot it before it gets on top of you. John in the epilogue gets attacked by a bear and there’s no way around it

If I consider random events and secondary MISSIONS, Arthur draws his gun on Deadeye at least 17 times in the game.
I'm a fan of John Marston, but I also really connected with Arthur in how he tried to change himself to a better person, and how he selflessly sacrificed himself at the end so that John could reunite with his family. It was a powerful moment, as Arthur had nothing left to lose while John had his family waiting for him.
I feel like John's durability feats should belong more in the endurance category, Durability would be how much physical damage they can take not endure. Like for example, Arthurs more muscular body would have stronger muscles and skin meaning his skin is probably thicker and tougher, which would mean hes more durable in that regard.
I feel as if people are ignoring the fact that John not only learned from Dutch, Hosea, and Arthur, but also learned from Landon Ricketts, the best gunslinger in the west (in the Red Dead Redemption timeline, we all know Swift Jack is the best.)

I’ve pointed this out before but I think it’s really interesting how Arthur and John have different sounds for dead eye, perhaps hinting there is almost like a different stance developed by the two. Arthur’s seems to almost take in every detail that surrounds him when he enters dead eye; using that to quickly dispatch his target, whilst John focuses on the slower movement of the thing he is aiming at; wanting to predict where they go in a quick decision; something that Jack then inherited from his father. Perhaps how people theorise that Dutch and Micah had the same would be interesting to hear and view theirs too; but I’m just overthinking it because I love rdr lol
John and Arthur would never fight, and if they did and one of them one, that’s the end of the game for me. We loved Arthur so much, and I cried when he died, so John was brave enough to carry on his legacy. Rest in peace… Arthur Morgan

I’d say endurance is Arthur >= John (John fell from a train whilst being shot and somehow walked back to camp, endured bites and scratches from a bear, endured in the winter and the wolves) but Arthur’s endurance feats are slightly better due to TB and him being tortured twice.
Skill imo John >= Arthur. Take the swimming and drawing aside, John can learn fast and we’ve seen it during the epilogue, plus he learned things from Landon as well.
Battle IQ gotta go to John, yes you may beg to differ but he won against a whole army during a civil war and he was a good leader during rdr1. John also planned on the train robbery during chapter 2.
Abilities is equal imo, John can activate eagle eye as well, remember that he was taught by the early members of the Van Der Linde Gang.
I'd give abilities to Arthur, because he has a special ability where he can cough on John and give him TB 😈

Draw Speed: John (This one is my favorite) It's not even close in the ending of RDR1 John draws his gun on like 20 or so people with their fingers most likely on their trigger ready to kill John so if they were to see him draw his gun they would definitely shoot but instead he pulls his gun faster than they can react and shoot him, and considering the average time to react and click is 200 ms I would say it would've taken about 230-300 ms to react and fire their guns yet John is able to pull his gun out and still shoot a few people I'm honestly guessing that John got so skilled in this moment that his deadeye was even slower than before which is why if you don't shoot you can still last a while in deadeye
Hand to Hand Arthur: It's obvious he’s bigger built and gave brain damage to Tommy
Stamina: John can't run out in RDR1 and he has never been shown to run out of stamina in a cutscene
Combat: John newer guns combined with better Draw Speed and Skill
Weapons: John automatic Mauser Pistol or a High-power pistol also an explosive rifle
Experience: Arthur, John joined the gang younger and lived longer but 4 years of his life he did Ranching
AP: John explosive rifle literally obliterates things.
DC: Arthur fire bottle spread is bigger which means more destruction
Reflexes: John slower dead eye which means he has a faster reaction time

Draw Speed: John (This one is my favorite) It's not even close in the ending of RDR1 John draws his gun on like 20 or so people with their fingers most likely on their trigger ready to kill John so if they were to see him draw his gun they would definitely shoot but instead he pulls his gun faster than they can react and shoot him, and considering the average time to react and click is 200 ms I would say it would've taken about 230-300 ms to react and fire their guns yet John is able to pull his gun out and still shoot a few people I'm honestly guessing that John got so skilled in this moment that his deadeye was even slower than before which is why if you don't shoot you can still last a while in deadeye
Hand to Hand Arthur: It's obvious
Stamina: John can't run out in RDR1
Combat: John newer guns combined with better Draw Speed skill and Accuracy
Willpower: John this is actually pretty important he has a family to protect, and it should boost his stats which is maybe why when he decided to sacrifice himself to save his family he got a huge boost in speed
Weapons: John automatic Mauser Pistol or a High-power pistol also an explosive rifle
Experience: Equal Leaning towards Arthur, John joined the gang younger and lived longer but 4 years of his life he did Ranching
AP: John explosive rifle literally obliterates things.

I would say that Battle IQ goes to John he was a great strategist even in RDR2 he showed it in his "Train plan" which actually worked or in RDR1 when he fought against the Mexican Army, IQ to Arthur he has a better understanding of how the world works and what's is more important, even his legendary phrase "Vengeance is an idiots game" shows that Arthur knew that Revenge will always have consequences, also he told John many times "You gotta run and don't look back" but John looked back and got revenge, two things Arthur told him not to do and we know the consequences, DC to John because of his weapons and skill and AP goes to Arthur, he's simply physically stronger, Willpower i would say goes to Arthur he had TB and in the last 3 missions Arthur even struggled to walk he had to sit somewhere because he was dying but despite this Arthur successfully rescued Abigail, gave John the chance to survive the Pinkertons and the Gang and not only that he even fighted Micah and won this fight while dying
Ok so draw speed Arthur his draw speed is literally 200millisecond and he consistently draws on 5 people without dying whilst john literally struggles to draw and shoot 2 Mexicans causing luisa to die in the process .
Skill arthur hes been doing it for longer and knows basically everything john learns by mid to endgame at the start of the game without anyone teaching him (also rickets taught john only how to aim properly nothing else).
Biq Arthur can make different versions of plans on the fly and his plans are mostly successful even in fewer numbers .
Experience def Arthur without debate john spent 12 yrs hiding and avoiding fighting whilst Arthur spent 22 being the prime bread winner of the gang and main fighter being in all house robberies and big scores the gang does

So, at the end of Red Dead Redemption, taking into consideration that when John left the barn the enemies had weapons aimed at him with their fingers on the trigger. They were fully ready to kill him, yet John still manages to draw his gun faster than they can react and fire. Now since the average reaction time is, 200 milliseconds or so. I would assume that it took about 250-300 milliseconds for the enemies to react and fire. Yet if you stand still and don't fire at the enemies it takes 7 whole seconds for the enemies to fire at John inside of deadeye. Which means that if you divide 300/7 It took around 50 milliseconds for John to draw his gun. Also, I have a theory on why John was so fast. I think John's willpower actually boosted his speed and reflexes so much so that 7 seconds to him was actually 300 milliseconds, and he had a must faster speed than normal. To back up this claim that it was 300 milliseconds the enemies in his perspective, weren't even moving to him either. So, this means that John has the fastest draw speed in the series.

I’m sorry bro, but John wins. in red dead one he was on Arthurs skill level once he got training from Landon, rickets, Arthur’s level of skill he took out a whole entire dictatorship almost completely single-handedly, and he was on par with Landon Ricketts his teacher, who was the same man who was shooting people left and right at the Blackwater massacre
He wasn't never on Arthur level in the epilogue Arthur wouldn't have got pinned down by Micah also John couldn't out draw a older Micah when Arthur out drew Micah while he was sick and half way dead that proves to you Arthur was already way better than John how about 1911 John well he was rusty and he also got shot by a gang member at the start of the game he couldn't even use his deadeye at the start Arthur still was probably better in my opinion and John didn't take out Micah and dutch he only took out Bill and Javier he would have died to Micah if it wasn't for dutch

I would give durability to Arthur, Arthur has been mauled by bears and lived, plus he took a nasty fucking bullet shot, cauterized it, and then fought his way to his horse that took him home all while barely conscious
The one time Arthur is in contact with a bear in the story, you can shoot it before it gets on top of you. John in the epilogue gets attacked by a bear and there’s no way around it

Personally, I think that Arthur would probably win hand-to-hand because he's just a bit bigger than John, and from what I've seen of John's 1911 draw, it's kinda slow compared to Arthur's. Intelligence is about the same; John shows it in speech with vocabulary and Arthur, with wit and comprehension. Battle IQ could go to either, they have about the same experience. Skill will probably go to John, just because he has the same skillset as Arthur + farming. Arthur draws faster than John (1/4 second draw in Micah standoff). Have yet to see John quickdraw canonically nearly as fast in RDR1. Hand to hand, Arthur wins.

If I consider random events and secondary MISSIONS, Arthur draws his gun on Deadeye at least 17 times in the game.
I'm a fan of John Marston, but I also really connected with Arthur in how he tried to change himself to a better person, and how he selflessly sacrificed himself at the end so that John could reunite with his family. It was a powerful moment, as Arthur had nothing left to lose while John had his family waiting for him.
It is a fair comparison in my openion.

I feel like John's durability feats should belong more in the endurance category, Durability would be how much physical damage they can take not endure. Like for example, Arthurs more muscular body would have stronger muscles and skin meaning his skin is probably thicker and tougher, which would mean hes more durable in that regard.

I’ve pointed this out before but I think it’s really interesting how Arthur and John have different sounds for dead eye, perhaps hinting there is almost like a different stance developed by the two. Arthur’s seems to almost take in every detail that surrounds him when he enters dead eye; using that to quickly dispatch his target, whilst John focuses on the slower movement of the thing he is aiming at; wanting to predict where they go in a quick decision; something that Jack then inherited from his father. Perhaps how people theorise that Dutch and Micah had the same would be interesting to hear and view theirs too; but I’m just overthinking it because I love rdr lol
John and Arthur would never fight, and if they did and one of them one, that’s the end of the game for me. We loved Arthur so much, and I cried when he died, so John was brave enough to carry on his legacy. Rest in peace… Arthur Morgan
If Arthur had lived to 1911, like John Arthur would have lived up to a better prime, which means, even in John's prime Arthur would still beat him, but since Arthur didn't have a chance to get better and he died, that means Johns prime is better than Arthur's prime.
