FYI, in canon development I noticed you chose the default res which is 4096x1080, you actually want to choose 4096x2160, which is the full resolution of the file.
Hi. I graded two of the prores clips in Davinci 14. Daylight scenes at the stadium and one of the dog clips got grainy/noisy. I never had that happen in BMPC 4K prores footages. I was monitoring the scope btw
LensProToGo Luts or no luts, I push the footage to the limits within the scopes until I see the look I like. I got a full hd monitor only but I don't think that matters. The woman's hair is where I see the artifacts/blocking. Don't you see them?
I tried to grade some of your log footage and I get horrible artifacts with resolve 14... Looks like what I would get on a 8 bits 420 camera. Wtf. To me it's like red/blue in the lips/shadow areas. image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2017/46/6/1511034952-capture-d-ecran-2017-11-18-a-20-49-29.png Is this normal and once again some canon's crap like it was the case with the XC10?
I have followed all the steps but when I get to the pointe (:53 secs) where I click on folder that has the clips...CVMISC... they don't load in??? Any clue why?
Very informative. I was going to try out Resolve, but this shows that it's not the greatest option yet - thanks for saving me time. Premiere/FCPX need to support .CRM ASAP!
I'll join the others saying 'Thank you'. What was the spec of your Mac? The Canon raw light development output options on Windows are very limited, DPX produces even bigger files than the raw source (factor of 7?) and that's a problem, so on a PC I think Resolve is the better solution at present. Bob.
Is it true that with the latest update you can now import Raw light files directly to Premiere 2018 ? So no need to use canon software anymore ? I do not own the camera, I'm trying to understand if the workflow is going to be ok for what I am doing since I consider buying the camera. Confirm me if im wrong but if you shoot in MP4, no need to go through all those right ? Thanks for your informative video @LensProToGo :)
How long do the conversions to ProRes take in the canon software? If you give me a time example I can multiply it. I'm trying to see if it's worth it for me to get a C-Fast 2.0.
It would be a lot easier if Resolve or Canon released a LUT to go from the RAW files to 709 so that this Cinema RAW Development could be skipped. The files generated in a Win environment are massive and play slowly. The RAW files play smoothly in Resolve... but there isn't any description on this RAW gamma on the web and Canon/Resolve would not give any info on that. Anyways, there is a workaround to work directly with the RAW files in Resolve, but it involves using a reference color card (e.g. ColorChecker).
Exactly, that's the closest gamma curve to the RAW gamma! By using that with the Color Checker you get the lowest deviation from the reference colours (in the Color Match panel)
Here is my roundtrip (Premiere Resolve) suggestion (I am using the Arri -> Rec709 wiht the Color Checker as well): ruclips.net/video/vJRvY1H47Z8/видео.html
That is the BIGGEST problem and, sadly, even today, Adobe has not sorted out everything so the CRM files run butter smooth in Premiere. It's a choppy super slow mess regardless of your machine's power. Davinci is still the NLE for CRM... *sigh.

Davinci Resolve does support DCI 4k, but you need the paid version for that. It's only limited in the free version.
piewee

How is the NR (noise reduction) in the Raw Development software?
Very informative. I was going to try out Resolve, but this shows that it's not the greatest option yet - thanks for saving me time.

Thank you mate, appreciate it!

I'd like to learn how you color correct your c200 footage. Great video though!
Avid Media Composer also works directly with .CRM files.
Now that is the way to do a tutorial. Way to go. Keep up the good work,.
excellent, thank you.
Why would apple prores 4444 not be an option in my canon raw development?

The resolution decrease in resolve happend because you are using the free version. Otherwise very informative, keep it up!
Thank you so much! You helped me a lot!!!! :)
Does the newest resolve support the raw workflow now?

Thanks for putting this together, very helpful!
Thanks man, this helps a ton. Thanks for taking the time! Hit the like button and subscribed.
You can export it custom at DCI
my 1Dx III footage dont show ??
Isn't your work flow backwards? I usually edit and then color is the final step through DaVinci Resolve.
This is great for apple lol
is there any 709 preview on that canon software ?? cause without any preview lut, tessing whitebalance etc on a log file is not the pefrect way . thx
The problem is this workflow only works on MAC machine not on Windows PC.
That takes way to much time
Too much work.

Can't understand the sunglasses. And thus the video
