I don't think it could have flown back then. As far as I can remember, THE LORD OF THE RINGS (2001-2003) was the first movie trilogy that a major studio (namely Warner Brothers) greenlit AS A TRILOGY. Even if THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING bombed, they were (reluctantly) committed to the two sequels, since they "already existed" as Tolkien's works. And recall that BATMAN RETURNS as we know it almost didn't get made.

A very poetic ending for Mister Freeze and Nora in this movie. It ended where it all began for them - two star-crossed lovers, albeit mismatched, declaring their love for another, until their inevitable sad fate catches up to them, with their friend (a Wayne) watching the scene unfold. Honestly a better ending than the one I was thinking - Mister Freeze getting sent to a special cell in Arkham Asylum as Bruce promises to help restore Nora's health, then fades out as Victor holds the ball with Nora's statue dancing inside.

Wow, what a story! It certainly played into Tim Burton's storytelling style when it came to the "Batman" movies. I definitely enjoyed how it progressed as I couldn't predict how it would all end. I especially loved how you thought outside the box and involved turning Chip Schrek into Blight and having him be the main villain in the end as well as the little Inca/Inque easter egg. As far as the Schrek/Blight character goes, bravo on turning him from what was essentially a background character in "Batman Returns" and turning him into a full-fledged villain by the end of this movie. I also considered Schrek to be the anti Bruce Wayne. He's what Bruce could've become had circumstances been different. Bruce easily could've become like Chip had he not had Thomas and Martha Wayne for parents as well Alfred to guide/raise him following their deaths. It also served to factor in all of the movies up to this point, whereas the Joel Schumacher movies almost felt like completely separate continuities. I also enjoyed the casting you had for all the characters. Even the little George Clooney cameo worked for me.
It would be nice to see if you might try to tackle what might have been "Batman Triumphant/Batman Unchained." Perhaps tweak it a bit since it would be completely removed from Joel Schumacher's vision much like how this variation of "Batman & Robin" was. I can picture it with Hugo Strange at the center of it all as he becomes the new head of Arkham Asylum. He introduces a new method of rehabilitation to cure the criminally insane to the point where he renders Batman, Robin and Batgirl almost obsolete. Along with him would be two prominent scientists assisting him: Jervis Tetch and Jonathan Crane. Tetch (who would be a reluctant villain here) would use his mind control technology to block out evil thoughts on the patients while Crane (who believes what he's doing is right) would use his fear toxins to "scare them straight." Batman would uncover what's going on, but is forced to literally face his fears as well as the sins of his past. At one point, Batman would push Robin, Batgirl and Catwoman away, only for them to come around and help save the day.
As far as casting goes, I would have Terrence Stamp as Hugo Strange, Johnny Depp as Jervis Tetch/the Mad Hatter and Brad Dourif (even though you used him in a brief role as Ferris Boyle in "Batman Forever) as Jonathan Crane/the Scarecrow. I would also include cameos from Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Robin Williams, Billy Dee Williams and Andrew Bryniarski in a fear toxin induced sequence. Also, whether or not this would be the final film in the Keaton/Burton "Batman" series would be completely up to you. But that's what I would envision as a possible fifth movie in the Burton/Keaton "Batman" series. So if somewhere down the line, you do end up doing something like another "Batman" Fanscription video and end up using some of my ideas, I'd appreciate a partial credit. Thank you.
Sorry for the long rant, but I just wanted to get that all out there. All in all, an awesome video and I'm certainly looking forward to what Fanscription churns out next.

    It can't end here!
How about a "What if Tim Burton had made Batman Triumphant"?
Being able to even make an amalgamation of the concepts of Batman Begins. (Basically a
    Batman Begins by Tim Burton).
With Dick farther away, Bruce confronts his past, with sleepless nights, and remembering his training time. A Plot involved a more mental side of Batman. Crispin Glover as Jonathan Crane appears as a psychiatrist to take care of Bruce Wayne and his unresolved stresses. He might be Arkham's chief psychiatrist as well.
I imagine a Machiavellian Crane wanting to break away from Batman. And everyone who stands in their way. You can even use the "Masters of Fear" comic as a base.
Johnny Depp (or Martin Short) as Jervis Tetch may even be a reluctant secondary villain, whom Crane is manipulating in his games and schemes.
A hallucination scene caused by the Fear gas. From Batman seeing his past enemies, Joker (Nicholson), Penguin (Devitto) and Nygma (Willians). I imagine them sitting around playing cards and talking about Batman and his impact in Gotham (Negative and Possitive).
At the end of the film even an Easter-Egg with a new Chief Psychiatrist coming to put the house in order: Professor Hugo Strange.
I can even imagine one more after that with Hugo Strange allying himself with Ra's Al Ghul, and a parallel plot Doctor Harleen Quinzell wanting to bring the Joker back to life the Joker with the Lazaro well.
Maybe even involving the Killing Joke in it, Gordon Beard being shot and such...
And the Last Movie could close with Poison Ivy and Bane. In a kind of Knight Fall. So many paths, so many opportunities... JUST KEEP DOING IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

I'd love to see the Nolan Trilogy adapted into the Burtonverse.
    1. Batman Begins could be a partial prequel of sorts, featuring a young Bruce Wayne with cuts to "present-day" Keaton. Obviously parts would be changed, but the use of Ras ah Ghul and Scarecrow (Johnny Depp) could work.
    2. The Dark Knight could feature either someone taking the mantle of Joker years after Jack Napier's death, or could have Harley Quinn play the role (Helena Bonham Carter). No two face (obviously), but maybe have someone else head down a dark path.
    3. The Dark Knight Rises maybe Arnold comes in here and plays Bane :)

I have actually thought about how Batman Begins would tie into the Burton Continuity if these two fanscriptions (with hipefully an unchained on on the way) became reality. With your ideas and mine, I might have just come up with something interesting:
Batman Beyond: In this version of *Batman Begins*, we follow Damian Wayne (played by Christian Bale) in the far future of Gotham City (not cyberpunkish yet) as he wishes to reclaim the roots of his family after his Dad died following his birth. Like the true film, he climbs through the snowy mountains, meets the league of shadows, becomes the new Batman, works with James Gordon Jr. (Gary Oldman) and defeats Rhas Al Ghul.
The Dark Knight: The film actually plays exactly the same as the true film, with few minor changes. Jim Gordon is swapped out for his son, Bruce is Damian, Aaron Eckhart would play Harvey II, and Heath’s Joker is the reincarnation of jack nicholson or something idk
The Dark Knight Falls: Would be two parts, same as the actual film but schwarzenegger is bane, bruce sees his dads ghost in prison yada yada yada

Now this is a masterpiece, all 3 parts. This is what Batman and Robin should have been. Great storytelling, great expansion on certain characters that picked up from the previous movies, specifically Chip. Excellent plot twists that I don't think anybody saw coming, and that last one was a killer for me, I did not see that coming. It was heartbreaking and very bittersweet, such a tragic ending to one of the most reinvented, complex, sympathetic, and very Shakespearean Batman villains ever, along with his wife. I love too that it very cathartic for it to end for them where it all began. I love moments like that for characters. All in all, one hell of a story.

It was actually an idea from Jim Carrey. An old Empire interview revealed that Carrey had been playing around with an idea of shaving a question mark into his head, but that didn't go through, because Carrey was going through a divorce court at the time, and he cannot show up in court with a question mark shave into his head.

And I don't like their Riddler. Robin Williams was actually considered by Joel Schumacher for The Riddler in Batman Forever, before Jim Carrey was cast. And Robin would be the same over the top/flamboyant Riddler as was in the final film, according to Ben Wan (The man who knows too much about Batman) and Andrew Bush on Superhero Stuff You Should Know. Stop listening to Fanscription and listen to Ben and Andrew.

I like that Mr. Freeze take down Blight.

What an amazing qualitrilogy of Tim Burton's Batman of what if. I mean from what if Harley Quinn was in Batman 1989, to the original ideal storyline of Batman Returns, Tim Burton's Batman Forever (Continues) with Robin Williams as the Riddler, Bily Dee as two face, and robin, to Batman & Robin with again Max Shrek returning and Sir Patrick Stewart as Victor Fries.

I’m currently replay the Batman Arkham Trilogy in remembrance of Kevin Conroy (God rest his soul). I’m on Arkham Knight now and have the Keaton suit. Seeing Keaton suit Batman flying over a Fear Toxin cover Gotham is such a striking image.
Originally, I said that this was an looking into an awesome alternate universe where cancelled/reworked media happened. Instead this being a movie, I could also see this being an awesome live action Batman TV show from an alternate universe. Since this would be coming out in 1999 (the same year that other DC superhero shows like Smallville and Birds of Prey were in their production-post production phases) it would probably be the most expensive and well received early superhero show ever.
Now that this is done, maybe you could do Batman Unchained/Triumphant, the canceled sequel to Batman and Robin? I foresee Scarecrow and Poison Ivy as the main villains in that story.

Great job on this! Loved how the story wrapped up, especially with the possible tease (?) for Schreck’s assistant to become Poison Ivy. I’m wondering what went into the process of choosing the actors you “picked” for the [fictionalized] castings of the characters not featured in Burton’s Bat-flicks? Anyway, I loved the story resolution-especially the 1989 callbacks - and appreciate your efforts for the entire undertaking!

Loved this three parter! While I’m someone who genuinely likes Batman & Robin I can’t deny that a Tim Burton directed B&R would have resulted in a great film as opposed to simply a fun film.
I know this was a massive undertaking but have you considered doing “what if Tim Burton had made Batman Unchained?”. I’d really love to hear what a Burton version of Scarecrow could have been like
