As soon as you said it was a Stuart Gordon film, I thought, "Oh, it has Jeffrey Combs in it."

Big fan of this movie and you are right, its definitely the best Full Moon film. Even though I do have a soft spot for the Puppetmaster films and Dolls is also an excellent one.

Great review, this movie looks amazing! I think I haven't seen it yet because I just thought "Full Moon, meh..."
The scene where Freak kills the prostitute reminds me of the scene in the original Frankenstein, where the creature is throwing flowers into the stream and then throws the little girl in and unwittingly drowns her, because he doesn't know the difference - Freak is trying to emulate what he saw, but he gets it SO wrong.

There's totally some Full Moon gems, we really enjoy Demonic Toys as well.

Jeffrey Combs is fantastic as John Reilly and Barbara Crampton is fantastic as Susan Reilly. 😀👍

Tourist Trap and Mansion of the Doomed should be honorable mentions

We love Tourist Trap, it was produced by Charles Band, but not sure it's actually a Full Moon Production.

I screened this flick for the 1st time earlier this year. I think it's free on Full Moon's youtube. I had to catch up with the Crampton/Combs trilogy.
I love Reanimator and From Beyond so much! Castle Freak was probably the least of the three, but still enjoyable. Crampton was still the shit, and Combs was still the shit! But yeah like, who the hell actually ever inherited a Castle?! 🤷‍♂️😆

comparing this to the Re-Animator movies is almost like comparing apples to Oranges the Re-Animator movies are great, and super entertaining in a fun horror comedy way, Castle Freak is more just a straight horror. But yes we probably rate Re-Animator higher than Castle Freak too.

I really, really need to get around to watching Castle Freak. I think the Full Moon label always gave me pause for thought.

Have only ever heard of this but never really got to see what it’s about. Holy Crap this has everything. Def a don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Sometimes you find a hidden straight to video gem but this def hits all the points from what I can see. That remake looks horrible . Where can I find this bad boy???
