- We dive deep into the eerie world of "I, Madman," a 1989 horror film that has often been overshadowed by its contemporaries. And was impossible to find for this review. Directed by Tibor Takács (The Gate) starring Jenny Wright (Near Dark, St. Elmo's Fire) and Clayton Rohner (April Fools Day, The Relic). This neo noir, pulp thriller follows Virginia who becomes obsessed with the book "I, Madman" and it's author who she realizes based the story on his own true events. He cuts off his ugly features and stalks beautiful prey to steal their features.

Pro Tip: Your beer will stay cooler longer if you hold the glass/mug by the handle or stem to reduce the amount of body heat contact.
Really liking the green tint on the intro guys. Gives me that early 90's sci-fi feel. The outro is super cool, too...Edward Scissorhands vibes. Have a Frightul Friday, guy's!
It's actually a re-animator styled intro/outro made by one of our fans!
Near Dark is amazing and there's a 4K of A Simple Plan dropping soon. Bill Paxton was the greatest!
Yeah Near Dark is great!
I have always enjoyed this movie I remember seeing this on TV back in the day I also have an old VHS copy. Can't remember if I have recommend this before but Revenge from 1970 is a pretty good forgotten movie.
Don't get rid of that VHS! Might be the only way to watch it for a while
Man, just gotta give a big chefs kiss to what this channel has become! Loved your videos since the beginning, but it's clear ya'll have really been hitting your stride! Cheers!
Thanks. That means allot you notice our hard work and that it seems to be paying off. Glad to have kept our long time fans and they don't think "the new stuff sucks" haha. Cheers
A real hidden gem, this one.
@@GrumpyAndrewsHorrorHouse how many women do u have locked up in your horror house at this time ?
It's Horror House not Whore House! haha.
Always a good day when FrightlyForgotten drops a review. Thanks guys.
Good to know we can turn plain days into good days.
If Bob and Doug McKenzie did movie reviews instead of "Great White North", eh?
Saw this on VHS as a kid. In the UK it was called Hardcover. Love Jenny Wright. She has a small but memorable role in Keith Gordon's directorial debut, The Chocolate War.
yeah that's right it did have a alternate name in the UK. haven't seen The Chocolate War though, any good?
Yes, The Chocolate War is excellent.
Jenny Wright is also in "Pink Floyd The Wall" as a groupie that Pink takes back to his hotel room and then freaks out on her, smashing up the room in the number "One of My Turns".
Classic movie 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!
She was in The Wild Life too.
I think she dropped top for that scene too.
"This place is bigger than our apartment! Look at this tub! Wanna take a bath?"
......then Pink goes crazy.....
I love that the I, Madman VHS is cheaper than the Bluray lol
Right??!! Shoulda just bought the VHS... But that's one we don't buy online. We keep it local
Jenny wright , a pretty chick with an odd edge to her . Never saw her interviewed anywhere , the fact she never became a big , mainstream actress , star is strange , although she worked alot in genre films . 😅😊
She seems to have retired now.
I Madman was a masterpiece! I loved it!
Tiibor deserved a better career in horror.
I google the VHS cover to make sure, and I do remember this VHS back in the day when I worked at a video store. Never bothered to check it out though. You are spot on with the comparison to Darkman, I immediately thought of that film during this video.
total Darkman vibes! Well hopefully one day you can have a chance to check it out.
I, Madman is a pretty good film. I love the effects and it's a really neat story. I do, however, feel the lead was miscast. She is just a little bland. I found her bland in Near Dark as well. But, it's still a great movie. Some very interesting things going on here
Yeah we would probably agree with that. Also Clayton seemed a little miss used.
@@FrightfullyForgotten His character was so underwritten. He's great. I wish he had more to do here
Its basically beauty and the beast 😅😅😊😊never saw this , its not on cable , tv ever , never came by it on video either . 😮
yeah I think it flew under allot of peoples radar.
Thank you
you guys are great! thanks for spotlighting this unduly forgotten and now difficult to see 80's horror gem. i have only seen it once on hbo or cinemax back in the late 80's or very early 90's.
good luck finding it again!, hope you have better luck that we did, only stumbled upon a crappy stream somewhere.

I love Jenny Wright! Speaking of "borrowing" - I just saw the Vincent Price "House of Wax" and Darkman totally stole from that. I'm curious about the video title - why was it "IMPOSSBILE" to watch, or was that just to bait us? Either way, great review as always!
Bit of a bait and it was Impossible to find, hence, impossible to watch! Funny speaking of House of Wax I just watched the original "Mystery at the Wax Museum" (1933) which is what House of Wax is a remake of. The Vincent Price one is better, but the original has a certain charm
@@FrightfullyForgotten Ah-ha! BTW I got to see House of Wax at a revival showing in 3D...stunning!
@@shawnmartin7500 man that's awesome. Always wonder how it looked I. Actual 3d
the only reason why I remember this movie is because I was a weird kid and read alot of fangoria magazine, it was on the cover of issue #80 feb 1989.
That's awesome you remember the issue number and month
@@FrightfullyForgotten the crazy this is i was born in 82, I dont know why my parents let me buy that magazine every month lol
@@BuddhaFpv probably cause they were awesome parents!
Time to add another one to the list lol😂.....I'm intrigued great review boys!
Thanks man, hope you can track it down some how
I rmbr seeing this , where the killer gets attacked by some crazy monkey
Instantly subbed. Rented this on VHS back then, loved it.
Thanks for the sub! Welcome aboard! Sadly this one we never saw on VHS, just stumbled upon it last year, watched it and wrote it down as a movie to cover, but it was really near the bottom of the list cause it's so damn long. But then one of our members asked us to review it, so it got bumped to the top of the list. Thanks again, and enjoy the channel!
Cheers 😂
Cheers man!
Late 80’s horror was pretty bad for the most part. Regardless, this channel is awesome! Hopefully you guys will review TerrorVision one day. Cheers!
I'm sure we will get to TerrorVision eventually
@@FrightfullyForgotten. Giddy up!
Yeah I watched this about a year ago on Tubi and was like duh fuq did I just waste an hour and a half on 🤦♂️
