Now they do, plus it helps that the Russo Brothers helmed some of the most memorable movies in the MCU. They know their stuff and made those characters shine. Imagine saying 10 years ago that Scarlet Witch would be a household name, or that the third Olsen sister would end up becoming the most popular amongst them.
I think that it was because her character has been whitewashed. Wanda is supposed to be Romani Jewish. And even Elizabeth herself has not been too respectful of that part of that identity.
But I'm so afraid about Marvel's TV shows, they didn't have luck making it in the past. Mainly because TV Shows doesn't have the huge bugdet the big screen have.

If they bring in Kamala Khan for the Captain Marvel sequel then that’s gonna be an interesting trio, a trained soldier with immense power and a heart of gold, a woman who grew up knowing these superpowered beings were out there and a girl who grew up in the era of superheroes and is a massive Captain Marvel fangirl

I think that he and Wanda (and hopefully Pietro) will all be a part of Phase 5 where the next group of Avengers will be active. Just like in the comic books. There. I said it.
