So if you want to catch a glimpse , you dont even have to pay to get inside the zoo, just walk in the park, find that corner where the two meet and see the elephants :) Maya likes cows ?When Denmark is all open again and next year spring , Maya should check out when the cows are led to pasture, they are let out for the first time after winter. Zoos are great. I can recommend Randers Regnskov if you're ever in that area. Also Nordsøen Oceanarium (previously: Nordsømuseet) in Hirtshals is definitely worth a visit. Supposedly, Kattegatcentret in Grenaa is good too, but I haven't been there myself.

Omg that kid looks exactly like every single boy I went to class with in the 90's. Did nothing change since then or is it the waves of fashion that has come back around to the 90's boyband style again?
It's full circle. It's a bit sad we're now old enough to have a style come back but I actually like it. Something about them looking like how people looked in the childhood happy times makes me automatically have a good first impression of them. I just hope the Reebok shoes, Evisu pants and porcupine hair of the 00's doesn't come back. That still takes the cake as the worst looking style of my time.
Miranda, if you love seals, you need to come to Randers Regnskov and check out the manatees. Especially if you can catch them at feeding time. Seeing those huge, dopey, adorable blobs munching on a whole head of lettuce is a sight to behold. Also, they're sea cows. Totally Maya's thing, too.

Glad you enjoyed the Zoo. Also did you guys by any chance hear of the time where they disected a giraffe and fed it to the lions? It happened quite a few years ago now but my god that made headlines in the US for all the stupidest reasons imo.
I can highly recommend Skandinavisk Dyrepark in Jutland for another zoo-visit. It is an animal park themed around the nordic wildlife. The animals have lots of space, unlike any other zoo I know of in Denmark. The park has massive enclosures for wolves, bears and polar bears. They even have a well-preserved mammoth skeleton :D ! Also, you can feed some of the deer, just walking around humans. Btw, congrats for appearing on Go' Morgen Danmark today. You were awesome to watch :)
Thanks for the fun and interesting videos! Since you like beer and rye bread, you should consider trying a traditional Danish breakfast (for people your age or older) called øllebrød
You should also go to Givskud zoo where you can drive around and see the animals. You should also see Jyllands park zoo, it's a smaller zoo but one of my favourites
to maya if you love cows one of the most cutest things is one day every year the cows are let free for the sommer'ish period, and they jump and you can feel how happy they are, to be out in the fresh air and they have grass available 24/7 . this year i think it was the 18th of april og maybe last month, i missed it this year. But yeah, you should see it next year :D
At our cottage in Hungary, there was a small zoo. There you could pet tiger cubs. The funniest thing was that they also had a dog playing with the tiger cubs. The best friends in the world
It's normal to use dogs to socialize big cat cubs. You can find some that are really easy on the cubs and the grownup cats are not. I get how the cubs were cute, and would love to hold one. But I do find it kind of problematic, that they had to be in contact with so many people. They should be allowed to live as normal a life as possible, they need to be tame so that the keepers can do what they need, but that's not there same as having contact to hundreds of people a day.
Please, what ever you do. Do not support zoo's that allow people to be in contact with such animals. You are not doing the animal any favours to say the least.
@@TravelinYoung Cool. Would also just like to hear what you think of the cars you see here vs. the US. I've spent a lot of time in the US over the years, and have just found the cultural differences in this area interesting. Same with driving. If one is used to European driving, it's a bit of a cultural shock getting on the I-10 lol. Will your daughter be getting her license here?
Fine positive video! If you are at the zoo, you ought to walk downhill to Frederiksberg Have, its a fine park with canals and rowing ferries from way back til King Frederik the 6th (1830), there is a chinese tea pavillion, a man made artificial waterfall etc. etc. Well worth spending a day there. Also nearby the old cafes such as MG Petersens familiehave with smørrebrød is well worth a visit if yoy are hungry. HM.
Have you invested in, or considered, the zoo kort?? I think it's about 475kr per person per year from date of purchase, BUT for that you get personal free entry on any regular opening hours, you can bring one guest per card for free on the special zoo days, get a few discounts on merch bought in the stores in the zoo... and finally, it provides you with discounts on the entrance to a bunch of other places in Denmark, including some other zoos, aquariums etc. (If I remember the ticket price for cph zoo right, visit 3 times during a year and you've already "paid for the card")
My favorite animal to see is the seals as well. Fun fact: Seals are a delicious cuisine in Greenland and it is my all time favorite food. So i miss my Greenlandic dish everytime i go see them. xD
If Maya likes cows, you guys should visit Møn Is, if you at one piont visits Møn(mostly for Møns Klint). At Møn Is you can visit the cows and see them get milked. The milk from those cows get used for the Ice cream, which is produced on the farm :D
The pandas was gifted to Denmark when the goverment banned the Dalai Lama from comming to Denmark and meeting with the royal family. This was the same reason the UK lost their pandas, because they allowed the Dalai Lama to visit.
Agree, they are animals of shame! Though I think it was more the result of the suppression of the Tibetan demonstrators doing the visit from the CCP, which later lead to the Tibet-commission. Anyway no one gets the pandas gifted, the US zoo that was talked about didn't and neither have the Copenhagen zoo! They are only on loan as long as we do the CCP's bidding. They are not worth it, hope they will be taken back soon, as that would be proof that Denmark finally is going against one of the evilest regimes in the world today.
I love Copenhagen Zoo. Also the food is pretty good (although expensive). The panda bistro is fantastic although we usually get fish and chips. My favorit animal is the Rhinos og Hippos.
They had these stands outside, like what you'd see at a Christmas market. I am not sure if they normally do or did it just cause indoor things were closed, but we had a super good burrito, :).
If you just fancy a nice stroll one day and want to see some animals without paying entrance fee, then there are certain lookouts located in Frederiksberg Have and Søndermarken where you look into CPH Zoo. From søndermarken you can see the savannah animals and from Frederiksberg have you can see the elephants. :)
Fun fact our pandas are also diplomatic pandas. China most likely gave them to us because they wanted to try buying themself into Greenland. I'm sure they got dissapointed when they couldn't.
think it was because of the suppression of the Tibetan demonstrator doing the CCP's visit, anyway no matter the reason we "got" them I hope they will take them back soon. Also, the were not gifted, they never are, they are on loan as long as we do the CCP's bidding.
If you wanna see bats we have a thing called bat night where there will be a lot of arrangements where you can see them in the wild this year it’s August 28th. And Randers Regnskov in Julland has a cool bat cave last time I went there it was at feeding time and you would hold fruit in your hands and they would swoop down and pile on the fruit in your hand to eat it it was awesome
@@TravelinYoung well bat night will depend on the different arrangements I know my dad has one in Rødovre not that far from Copenhagen. Naturvejlederne på Frederiksberg or nature guides in English also have some arrangements and I think once every year there’s also one in Fælledparken
Okay to be real with bats in the wild it’s more hearing them and seeing a black blur fly over your head but it is a really fun experience and the people that come to the arrangements I have been to with my dad always enjoy themselves

the video was to short, you could easily have made a 40 min video around the zoo, having miranda and villads and maya talk about the stuff and the animals, i would have loved to see that... longer format videos like this in the future... thaank you ;)
RUclips is great, but they should definitely focus on quality time as a family rather than producing videos. I like hearing their perspective on things. I feel like their short format is great for that.
Its funny how People in copenhagen gets exited over an cow because i have 200 in my backyard at my farm so its so funny to see tha some people Maybe never have seen a cow before But full respekt to you guys
Great Video Copenhagen Zoo is Ok compared to many of the zoos i visited in the USA. It is one of the worlds oldest though. ut if you look on size its one of Europes smallest. If you like big try Knuthenborg Safaripark, one of Europes largest in southern Denmark (on your way down you could make a stop at Krokodille zoo in Eskilstrup with Europes largest collection of crocodiles) If you like big there are Berlin zoo (the worlds biggest collection of animals incl giant pandas) and Berlin Tierpark (with 160 ha 12 times as big as Copenhagen zoo with a rainforest hall where you walk among giant flying foxes). If you ever travel to Austria, Belgium or the Netherlands Vienna has the worlds oldest zoo. You drink coffee like the emperor did 250 years ago, it has giant pandas and a walk through aviary with bats Arnhem with my favorite zoo, bit like in Omaha you have a desert house, rainforest house, mangrove house etc where you walk through these habitats with animals almost running free around you. Relative near by is Kröller-Müller Museum with the worlds 2nd largest collection of Van Gogh in the middle of a National Park Many people though think, once they have been there (only Belgians now about it) that Pairi Daiza is Europes best zoo
What actually defines a "good zoo"? Size have nothing to do with it. Mind you, my wife is an animal caretaker who specializes in training of natural behaviours and rehabilitation of exotic animals, as well as developing habitat enrichment protocols. Quite a few zoos here in Europe, including those in Belgium, the Netherlands and several others, do a pretty poor job of such things. A zoo is not a good zoo because it's big or pretty, a good zoo works because the animals are properly healthy, get the correct daily enrichment and live without stereotypical behaviours etc. Copenhagen zoo is actually one of the best in the world, along with the San Diego zoo when it comes to rehabilitation and animal healthcare.
@@AB-80X Yes Copenhagen was quite good 20 years ago when it maybe was the leader of behavioural enrichments. And I agree a lot of zoos inside the EU does very little except what, if an EU country, the EU law says. I know san diego zoo has been maybe the world leader in periodes for behavioural enrichments and zoopsychology. I guess one of the reasons why San Diego got the platypus since a year or 2. But there is a reason why Knuthenborg got 4 retired elephants, why Pairi Daiza got giant pandas and not antwerp zoo which after all is the national zoo like copenhagen.
When you get to the mainland (Jutland) You should check out Givskud Zoo - There you get to drive your car inside the lion enclosure and if you are lucky, as i have been on several occasions, watch the lions up REAL close. Note that the Zoo is not liable for any damage to your car! But it's rare that they scratch them. Some get peed on, but that's it :D If flowers AND zoo is a thing, you could visit Jesperhus blomsterpark - you can rent cabins right next to it. My favorites is always the parrots, if they have any. Mainly because i have a blue/gold Macaw myself ;)
All pandas in zoos are giftet by China. So our’s are also a diplomatic gift. Some danes think, that we “pay” too high a price for these pandas, because our government some times compromise our danish values, to be nice to China.
Everyone who enters the zoo has to provide proof of a negative corona test within 72 hours. We are tested 2-3 times a week depending on what we are doing. Also, masks are not required in outdoor areas in general but we do wear them if it's particularly crowded. We always follow all health guidelines when it comes to corona safety.
you don't have to if it's outside in Denmark, the main part of the coronavirus is spread by droplets hanging in the air. If you are outside the droplets are dispersed fast are gives almost no added risk. Unless of cause you are sneezing someone directly into their face. But I think people are pretty good at keeping the distance here in Denmark. When it's indoors in public places people do have to wear a mask unless they are children.
I love me a ferocious tiger, an elegant giraffe or an expressive elephant..BUT have you seen the size of a rhinoceros! I can stand in front of them, forever just in awe! 😯🌸💕 P.s. Halsnæs Bryghus is open 😉
Sorry. I have to disqualify you. None of you have the penguins as favorites. Very very serious for you. 🐧🐧🐧 I try to visit zoos whereever I go, and the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden in Columbia, SC had three different species of penguins. That was a really good day 😁😁😁
Yeah, it has opened and everyone is required to be tested negative before entering. Similar to most everything else in DK now. We get tested 2 to 3 times a week, before we do anything around other people.
@@BaconDanish I'm a Dane, I do think we are taking a to big risk in opening too much up. But places like the Zoo is not really problematic as you can require everyone to be vaccinated or have a fresh clean test. Besides that, there is an extremely low transmission of SARS-CoV-2 outside especially if people can keep the distance. This far the reopening has gone fine, probably because of the extremely high level of testing in Denmark (one of the highest in the world in relation to the population), though I do think the reopening is too fast and therefore risky, the risk here is that we might have to close more down again. But trust the government to be on top of it and do so in time so that the SARS-CoV-2 spread does not get that great that the hospitals will be under pressure.
Great that you had at good time, but it really is sad that we imprison innocent animals for the sake of our own amusement, it really is Speciesism in its worst form. Most people don't even understand what zoochosis is, its really sad,
@@Fetguf even if that was the truth, which it sadly isn’t, then it doesn’t change the fact that these many of these animals esily move over much larger distances than their prisons can emitate. And entertainment is a horrible readon for imprisonment

They should be allowed to live as normal a life as possible, they need to be tame so that the keepers can do what they need, but that's not there same as having contact to hundreds of people a day.
Please, what ever you do. Do not support zoo's that allow people to be in contact with such animals. You are not doing the animal any favours to say the least.
you should try out the Culture night sometime
You guys need to do a video on your thoughts about cars in Denmark vs. cars in the US.:-)
Yeah, we have to replace our lease in a month or so. We are planning to do a video as we go through that process.
@@AB-80X she will, but not sure when. We plan to stay for a while :).
My family and I visited the zoo the same day as you guys, I was too shy to go say hi🙈 glad you had a nice time☺️
It was nice! Say hi if you ever see us again, we’d love it!
@@TravelinYoung thanks I will🙈 I visit Bagsværd quite often, so I might get another shot at saying hi 🙋♀️👋
I love going to the zoo here in Aalborg. My favorite there is the African Wild Dog - they are so amazing and pretty :D
Jeg bor også i Aalborg
Det vil jeg huske. Tak for at dele det.
You were so close to me! I live 5 min. away from the Zoo! 🤗
A gift with a hefty price.
@@MG-ll5nw but not a gift, as you can’t take a gift back.
Panda politics
Lost a lama but got a couple of pandas. Sounds like a good deal to me.
@@TravelinYoung No the stands have been there for a few years.
Love it :-) hug from Odense / Herning. :-) You look and sound like Danish. :-).
You ever been to Knuthenborg?
We have! But before the channel, we plan to go back soon :).
My favorite animal has to be the brown bear. Just eat, sleep, mate, repeat!
I must know more!
@@TravelinYoung well bat night will depend on the different arrangements I know my dad has one in Rødovre not that far from Copenhagen. Naturvejlederne på Frederiksberg or nature guides in English also have some arrangements and I think once every year there’s also one in Fælledparken
Randers Regnskov is a really great zoo Randers is a city but from what I can see there’s already plenty comments about the zoo
Okay to be real with bats in the wild it’s more hearing them and seeing a black blur fly over your head but it is a really fun experience and the people that come to the arrangements I have been to with my dad always enjoy themselves
@@TravelinYoung if you don’t want to wait till bat night there’s an opportunity on the 28th of May in Vejrløse close to Farum. You can learn more here www.dn.dk/arrangementer/23972-flagermustur-ved-sonderso/
Just learned that my dad has a trip tomorrow night 20:30 to 23:30 for nat i naturen where will ride bikes and see the nature in the dark and we will stop by a lake where we should be able to see bats. We start at Hvidovre witch is under storkøbenhavn. So far only two people has said they will come so really we could use some more people. voresnatur.nu/aktivitet/nat-naturen-kalvebodernes-kogleri-0

the video was to short, you could easily have made a 40 min video around the zoo, having miranda and villads and maya talk about the stuff and the animals, i would have loved to see that... longer format videos like this in the future... thaank you ;)

Its funny how People in copenhagen gets exited over an cow because i have 200 in my backyard at my farm so its so funny to see tha some people Maybe never have seen a cow before But full respekt to you guys
I haven't been since they got the giant panda's but it's an awesome zoo.
Great Video
Copenhagen Zoo is Ok compared to many of the zoos i visited in the USA. It is one of the worlds oldest though. ut if you look on size its one of Europes smallest. If you like big try Knuthenborg Safaripark, one of Europes largest in southern Denmark (on your way down you could make a stop at Krokodille zoo in Eskilstrup with Europes largest collection of crocodiles)
If you like big there are Berlin zoo (the worlds biggest collection of animals incl giant pandas) and Berlin Tierpark (with 160 ha 12 times as big as Copenhagen zoo with a rainforest hall where you walk among giant flying foxes).
If you ever travel to Austria, Belgium or the Netherlands
Vienna has the worlds oldest zoo. You drink coffee like the emperor did 250 years ago, it has giant pandas and a walk through aviary with bats
Arnhem with my favorite zoo, bit like in Omaha you have a desert house, rainforest house, mangrove house etc where you walk through these habitats with animals almost running free around you. Relative near by is Kröller-Müller Museum with the worlds 2nd largest collection of Van Gogh in the middle of a National Park
Many people though think, once they have been there (only Belgians now about it) that Pairi Daiza is Europes best zoo
Some get peed on, but that's it :D
If flowers AND zoo is a thing, you could visit Jesperhus blomsterpark - you can rent cabins right next to it.
My favorites is always the parrots, if they have any. Mainly because i have a blue/gold Macaw myself ;)
a bit sad you skip the history part about the zoo around the year 1900
Not a Zoo, but have U been at "Den bå planet".
Not yet, but it is on our list!
The cow bit felt sarcastic... I mean... it's a cow
Nope, she really loves cows.

All pandas in zoos are giftet by China. So our’s are also a diplomatic gift. Some danes think, that we “pay” too high a price for these pandas, because our government some times compromise our danish values, to be nice to China.
Yea that and the 100 million DKK for renting them for the 15 year periode.
@@Captainhaddockthethird There is also the whole tibet thing
Yes, I don't want them as they are proof that we are selling out to the CCP.
Also, no pandas are gifted they are all on loan all over the world. The CCP has turned them into the animal of shame!
Cows. Also known as lion food! 😜
The pandas were gifted to Denmark from China, so it’s the same diplomatic reasons as in the US
quick question: Why are no one wearing any masks?
@@TravelinYoung oh okay thanks for the info, and good to know :)

Has the Zoo opened up to the public again.
That was riski.
Covid still not gone away.
But hey.. I hope you had a great safe day.
Next stop Giveskud
Yeah, it has opened and everyone is required to be tested negative before entering. Similar to most everything else in DK now. We get tested 2 to 3 times a week, before we do anything around other people.
@@TravelinYoung okay. This is the way.
Risky? what on earth are you talking about. Use your common sense and you will be absolutely fine.
@@Fractal227 that is so true. But we still see dumb people do dumb things. I’m glad they have the testing before you can visit.
But trust the government to be on top of it and do so in time so that the SARS-CoV-2 spread does not get that great that the hospitals will be under pressure.
please speak danish maya.
Stop 🛑 corona pass!
Great that you had at good time, but it really is sad that we imprison innocent animals for the sake of our own amusement, it really is Speciesism in its worst form. Most people don't even understand what zoochosis is, its really sad,
zoochosis was a thing of the past in danish zoo's.
@@Fetguf even if that was the truth, which it sadly isn’t, then it doesn’t change the fact that these many of these animals esily move over much larger distances than their prisons can emitate. And entertainment is a horrible readon for imprisonment
