Yuyuko is by far my favorite stage 6 fight. Her theme is gorgeous, her patterns are very elegant (fun fact: Yuyuko is the first boss to use butterfly danmaku) and her overall personality is really fun (though terrible as a mentor for Youmu because she's so literal-minded). As for the battle itself, I really really like Swallowtail Butterfly, Repository of Hirokawa and the non-spell before it and the fact that I once captured -Getting Lost- when I was out of extra lives and 0 bombs (but then proceeded to bomb the shit out of Ressurection Butterfly because I got enough point items for another life). I also like that Repository of Hirokawa and the non-spell before it Yuyuko retracts her fan making it harder to hit her while she moves all around the screen. Eagerly awaiting for Extra and Phantasm.
Mortality on normal and above is garbage though. I have no idea how to do it, even with watching replays and other videos. I did collect the spellcard, but those were massive flukes and I haven't come close since.
Throw in a little more panic and that'd be my reaction the first time around. I'm never gonna friggin' forget that moment since I went in blind and it hit me _hard_ Here I am, finally beat Yuyuko for the first time, feeling all proud of myself and let out a sigh of relief as I kick back and relax in my chair... And then all of a sudden I hear boss music...
My first time I was also like wait wtf is going on, I had like 0 lives left and on my last continue. I have never been able to play last last spell card as well as I was able to that time in pure adrenaline xD
You know, having played the Fantastic Danmaku Festival version of this game, I have to say I still think Yuyuko's battle here is more beautiful than that one's
damn, this fight was hard. i remember playing it 16 times in a row on practise mode and dying every time until the next time i played it. i felt so accomplished. i love yuyuko.
Somehow, I don't even know how, I cleared Resurrection Butterfly the first time I faced it with no bombs or lives. I did break a border, but it was just about to expire, so I got SUPER lucky. I haven't had success like that on any subsequent attempt, so it was a complete fluke, but what a fluke.
Well... when I played this fight for the first time I was making a blind playthrough, so I didn't knew about the existance of the final spell card... since I didn't knew it was there I used all of my resources in the previous phase, you can probably guess what happened after that... Also I'm still pretty new to Touhou community btw.
I know I just need more practice, but Yuyuko's been quite a challenge for me. On the bright side, listening to Border of Life so much has helped me appreciate a song that I've previously ignored a lot. Also I love the way the music perfectly cuts off at around 9:43
guessing it's law of mortality, Resurrection butterfly, and Sumizome perfect blossom or whatever her second to last card is? also, yuyuko alone is a reason to pick lazor marisa since Lazor Marisa can deal ALOT of damage to yuyuko due to being able to hit both Yuyuko and her fan, which have separate hitboxes
@@gypsysprite4824 Resurrection butterfly actually isn't too bad for me. Her first spell is probably where I have the most difficulty. Also I finally beat her just a few hours ago with Sakuya B, but I'll definitely be going back with everyone else so I have more options for the extra stage.
Technically EoSD has an extra story: it basically says Remilia's visiting the shrine (I think with Sakuya accompanying her, too?). But then it starts raining around the mansion and the four (because apparently Marisa was already there too) talks about why. Remilia mentions Patchouli may've made it rain because of *a certain someone* and that's the protagonists' cue to step in.

Remilia: "Oh, you could leave that to me, you know." Marisa: "I definitely won't leave you to do that." For some reason, and yet as per the usual, the scarlet devil was in the shrine. Marisa: "Hey, is it all right to just leave the mansion like this?" Remilia: "It's fine; I left everything to Sakuya." Reimu: "It's probably not fine, hurry up and go back immediately." At that moment, a clap of thunder surprised the three. Reimu: "An evening squall." Marisa: "That's pretty unusual this time of year." Remilia: "I, um, can't walk around in the rain, can I." They waited for a while, but rain didn't start falling, and when they went to check outside, the sky was clearly unnatural. A harsh storm had brewed over only one part of a corner of Gensokyo. Remilia: "Hm? It looks like rain is only falling around my place." Reimu: "It's true. Is it cursed or something?" Marisa: "Isn't it was already cursed from the start?" Remilia: "That worries me. I won't be able to go back with things like that." Reimu: "Didn't you think they did it so you couldn't go back?" Marisa: "So you've finally been driven out, huh?" Remilia: "No, rather than doing it so I can't go back..." Marisa: "Are they actually doing it so something doesn't get out from the inside?" Reimu: "No, you've definitely been driven out."
