- Taking a ride on Elevator 52 in the Waterfront Tower at Harrah's Resort, Atlantic City, NJ. This is a gearless traction unit in the high-rise elevator bank, and serves the Ground floor, and the 26th through 45th floors.
During the video, I note that this elevator has not been modernized by Schindler, as many of the other elevators at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City had been. Afterwards, I learned that the Waterfront Tower was constructed in 2008, making the elevators in this video 16 years old at the time of filming. As a general rule of thumb, elevators should be considered for modernization every 20 years.
Recorded March 24, 2023.
Was just here this weekend!
Saw part of your video of the place. Really well done. Did you record any elevators when you were there? Also was the Laguna tower still original?
@@Dwall44 laguna is the one tower I didn’t go into lol
@@fgpalmlol wow. They were original when I was there last September. They were series ones from the 90s. I’m going to tell myself that they’re still original even though I’m sure they’re gone by now.
Awesome! I don’t think there’s any plans to modernize any of the Otis equipment in any of the towers. Including the series ones in that one tower that I forgot the name of. Too bad they modernized the Westinghouse and old Fujitec systems though.
Bayview tower just got done so these are prob next
@@fgpalm no way they got Bayview Tower! Weren’t they the Otis‘s from the early 2000s? Why modernized them?
@@Dwall44 they were installed in 2002! Makes me feel old. All the elevators at Harrah’s get beat up by all the party animal from the club.
@@fgpalm oh OK. Insane that elevators from the early 2000s are starting to get Modernized. I would say it wasn’t needed but I didn’t ride them during my recent trip to Harrah’s and like you said I’m sure they were beat to heck so probably needed it. And it’s too bad because they had a really weird variant of the Otis voice.
@@Dwall44 they did! They honestly were too bad but they all are a bit bouncy and shaky
