The format is still ass, but honestly now it is up to the individual to learn how to play their decks without the money cards. I won a 20-man online tournament with Scareclaw. That Michael Walter's build got me buying a cheap Yubel build even with the Phantom of Yubel cards. I love the Super Poly build. This is a skull expression format and I love it.
I experienced this in SJC LA back in 2009. I was thinking about playing BW in a Lightsworn format, but my peers advised me to play Gadgets. Ended up X-3 (losing my last three matches) 😞
Maxx C wasn't played when it first came out. The issue is that we have the knowledge of card rarity from the OCG and now we realize we are getting hosed
I still playing Branded for a while.. I still have my other decks I love like Dino’s and Dragon Link. I always waiting on those reprint season for the meta stables stuffs
Yuigioh is a fun game. I play both Pokemon and Yuigioh, but i focus more on Yuigioh because, for me, it is the more fun tcg. I agree that prizing is an issue. I get better prizing at a local than I would at a major event. I wanted to try to travel and play, but with the current format and expensive of the game, I can't see myself doing so.
U are absolutely right I love diversity I love trying new decks I’m tryna finish building centurion on master duel I think u should play master duel on the channel it would be a good way to try decks u never played before and provide more content for the channel as well ppl love master duel streams and videos
@@RogueHero ok can’t wait love the content bro please don’t sell the yubel deck It might get support in the near future that u might like plus u good at it too
i agree 100 percent that the prizing is trash and that multi deck formats are the best.definitely more fun to play a multi deck format, keeps you on your toes and less chance of being bored.
@@easyygo3008 yea when u got a deck that gluey “tenpai” takes the fun out of the game they almost get a free play once they blow shit up and what I mean is shits untouchable via broken card effects if all it takes is a raigeki and a summon to win who wouldn’t play it I get it but idk I’ve been around the game along time and enjoy having good back and fourth games not just hey lemme go to battle and shit on you with a lvl 3
The diversity with this format was definitely helped with one of my biggest worries heading into this format, which is yet another T deck with Snake-eye Azamina. Still havent gone back to locals because there is even more BS uber expensive auto win cards that my opponents WILL drop on me (with my dueling luck it will happen a lot) and for now, I'm not willing to tolerate it until HERO gets their new toys to play with next year.
Yeah, the official YGO Pricing is a little lame compared to other TCGs but then again the creator never wanted cash pricing anyway, so that's your fault if you get disappointed because you knew what you were getting into. It's not Konami's fault if you spend hundreds or thousands of dollars, hours of practice for a deck, + flight and hotel reservation, only to win a Switch + $40 MAT and Sleeves with an unplayable worthless card. You probably won't even get there because you will not top. You are better off joining unofficial Digital Yugioh tournaments such as the Meta Weekly. Although it is for Master Duel, at least you will get real cash. Plus there's very little chances of errors because it is automated unlike the tcg/ocg where the judge or player error can affect the outcome of the game. Also, Yugioh Duel Links just announced a new event and the 1st place rewards are iPad, Mat and an Acrylic Figure. These formats both have unofficial tournaments that supports cash prizing. Now that you are now aware of these but you still prefer to keep your paper cards and cry about the prize support then as I said earlier, that's your FAULT.
@@RogueHero Yep. The Meta Weekly don't give out much but it's typically $50 - $100 cash price. Prize goes up if chat is generous. Then they have the Meta Championship Series which can go up to a $1000. Dkayed and his team is running it. It's one of the reasons why Konami does not like him aside from the leaks. They can't accept that someone outside Konami is providing better prizing than them.
I agree with your vid. Very solid point. I was tired of the endless videos of people complaining about the format. It was getting old. This is a refreshing take.
@@easyygo3008 I mean it probably just because I haven’t been back to play paper yet had a couple things come up but plan to go build deck tomorrow with a homie but idk dude I’ve heard more say it’s bad than good and that’s coming from people that play weekly in the tcg
There's no such thing as a meta. Tier 0 is a myth. You can play whatever you want as long as you're skilled. I clap snake eyes clowns everyday all day with DDD its hilarious. Imagine paying 1500 bucks just to get clapped by sky striker 😂
Negating Summons from the hand is kinda wild
