    Haydn fut un génie sans pareil et merci à vous, cher jeune pianiste, vous lui faites justice. Dieu soit loué pour votre présence et oeuvre sur terre.

    This is really beautiful playing. Delicate and sensitive. In particular, I enjoyed the flat key F minor slow movement which is the glory of this sonata.

    Thank you for the zealous rendering of the second movement. Precise emotional steps and sonorous silences. How did Haydn conceive these? And I wonder whether Maestro Ludwig didn't 'steal' some of Papa's humour before ascending his own Olympus.

    in my opinion some of haydens work greatly surpassed mozart's. mozart wrote tons of generic music that has no originality but hayden's creativity all shown up here. beautiful piece

    • @matthewwhitehouse301
      @matthewwhitehouse301 8 лет назад +14

      That's quite a bold statement to make. I think it's unfair to state that Mozart wrote 'lots of genetic music' Mozart wrote a vast amount of music that was extremely creative and original in style- this is probably why Mozart is much more known than Haydn is. There's a saying I heard not long back from a teacher..."if you can remember the melody, it's Mozart. If you can't remember the melody, it's probably Haydn. As harsh as that may sound, it holds a great deal of truth with it. As lovely and beautiful Haydn's music is, his melodies (not all but the majority) are medleys in which don't really have a great impact unlike Mozart. Mozart is probably one of very few, if not the greatest composer to write extremely catchy and rememberable tunes. Again, this reflects Mozart's originality.

    • @margatroidderek9285
      @margatroidderek9285 8 лет назад +4

      Haydn > Mozart on all fields. And Mozart would very much agree with this anyway.

    • @alejandrolegler3671
      @alejandrolegler3671 7 лет назад +5

      margatroid derek certainly not in the field of opera and piano concerto where Mozart was at its best!

    • @kelvinluk27
      @kelvinluk27 7 лет назад

      Matthew Whitehouse melodies are not everything. Haydn blurs our the difference between melodies and harmonies. A lot of his melodies are broken chords. Haydn excels in harmonies, and his way of breaking them is compelling and interesting.
